A list of puns related to "Went Into Administration"
I have been studying the histories of ancient Chinese dynasties for a few years now and always find myself wondering how a country so large and diverse managed to have an effective and stringent administration system. With so many wars and conflicts, it seems obvious to me their system wasn't always effective - yet I'm not quite understanding how the government functioned overall. Was the emperor's will enforced throughout the country? Did each province have its own army, and were they supposed to be loyal to the emperor?
Basically, was the emperor's administration "productive" and enforced as best as it could be, with natural conflicts spurring up over time, or was it all just a figurehead with each province doing its own thing and largely ignoring the others?
Please feel free to recommend books, links, or videos if it would help clarify my questions. Thank you!
And I'm not worried at all thanks to my emergency fund.
I'm a long time lurker of UKPersonalFiniance as well as many other similar subs and can't understate the importance of budgeting and having an emergency fund. I'll be able to support myself for another 6 months whilst I look for employment and I was able to continue with my Christmas shopping as planned due to budgeting for this event many months in advance.
Around 350 of us will be losing our jobs and not receiving a salary this month. This has put many of my great coworkers in a very bad place with many of them having to use local food banks and they'll have to explain to their children why Santa can't visit this year. It's heartbreaking to speak to them about and I can only hope that this post inspires someone to review their finiances and take action to prepare for the future.
Merry Christmas.
I have never been through an adjudication before but i have checked the documents that the adjudicator has sent out to all employees and creditors and they had put every single employees home address as well as all of the employees salaries in detail.
Surely this is a breach of GDPR or data protection? And if so, what means would i have to get around this? Or is this actually normal?
This is in England btw
My son left for Bali on Thursday, flights were OK but when he got to hotel they said they hadn't been paid by the travel company. So we are paying the full hotel booking amount again, which we should hopefully get back as it's part of the ATOL scheme (plus paid on credit card so there's some protection). This might be useful for anyone else that booked through them.
This is the e-mail they sent him:
"We are emailing you from the Consumer and Markets Group of the Civil Aviation Authority.
We understand that you may have an ATOL protected booking for a holiday with The Holiday Place PLC.
The company based in London traded as The Fishing Place, The Scuba Place, Cubaholidays.co.uk, Dubaiholidays.co.uk, Cuba Holidays, Holiday Place, Ocean Jewels, Holiday USA, Egypt Direct, Dubai Direct, Go Dominican Holidays, Just Caribbean, The Cuba Experience, The Cyprus Experience, The Holiday Place, The Kenya Experience, The Mexico Experience,
And under the websites: cubaholidays.co.uk, dubaiholidays.co.uk, holidayplace.co.uk, thescubaplace.co.uk and theholidayplace.co.uk
We are sorry to inform you that the company has ceased trading as of 29/05/2019.
If you have booked a flight-inclusive package you are protected by the ATOL scheme. You may make a claim for the monies you paid for your ATOL protected holiday from the CAA.
Further details including a claim form are available here or on www.atol.org.uk, under βHow to make a claimβ, βLatest ATOL holder failuresβ. Please ensure you complete the correct claim form for The Holiday Place PLC."
I'm a 24 year old working in quality control, I've been here for 8 years now. This is all I've ever known, and my company just went into administration. What are the potential outcomes of this from my perspective? I know what redundancy pay I'd get, but what if I don't get made redundant? How can I be sure I get my redundancy pay anyway?
I'm really sorry that my questions are so vague, I've only really started to mature in my career path over the past few years and now I don't know what to do or what could happen and everyone is saying different things :(
Bowled league Monday night as usual. Found out today liquidators swooped in and shut the doors effective immediately.
Spoke to a few members of my league, one bowled last night and not a word. Spoke to the only other semi-local alley to me (15min drive), said they've had an influx of teams from leagues at our alley querying on migrating over. Staff were removing trolleys full of stuff, and lots of members have their gear locked in and need to contact the administrators to arrange a time to reclaim it.
The perception is alleys make ok money, but we've had lots close in my city over the last few years. Options are limited, and my league is only small, with most already bowling other leagues, or are more professional than me and play tournaments around the country, so they won't miss it as much as I do if it closes for good.
This is my new refound hobby and the other semi-local alley only has limited league slots, and my other family commitments also come into play.
I'm gutted. I've just settled back into league a few months ago after a 20 year hiatus. Just got my ball and learning to adjust and improve. I hope a resolution is found, but it's not looking good.
Sigh.
So
The company I was working at folded on my second to last day working there. Every employee is to be made redundant, the company went into administration and handed off all responsibility to someone else.
But they still owe me money. Unused holiday, time worked since the last pay check (I was paid in April and worked some days in May, as-yet unpaid) and pension contributions (for a couple of months including April - they were pretty bad at paying them on time).
Because I've left I've been forced out of all their systems and have never met the administrators who came in to manage things.
This page claims that I can get this money from the government if I was made redundant, and it specifies that I need to contact the insolvency practitioner to claim the pension money owed to me.
My questions are:
The company is currently still within their 30 days consultancy period. I don't expect to receive any money or pension payments in May.
Thanks for any help.
EDIT: I did not receive a redundancy letter but I don't know whether that's because the company was disorganised or I wasn't entitled to one.
I did not receive an exit interview to explain things.
Now i've done work for the value of Β£35,000 but i dont know what i can do to get thedebt payed as the company is no longer around. Is there any laws surrounding this that can make sure i can get payed? I live in the UK.
Come on, world, at least make it fair.
Hey guys,
You might remember my post a few months back regarding my historical debt with Extra Energy, a company which went into administration late last year.
So essentially after receiving info from them regarding the fact that PwC has taken over the administration, and that EE themselves are recouping historical debts from customers, I rang them today to set up repayment.
I was told that instead of being able to pay it off over a period of years as I had agreed previously, now they're recouping the money over a matter of months. I was told the customer service guy would "talk" to his boss about extending that period.
Can they legally do that? Seems very odd.
Just to note my repayment plan ended late last year after my debit card was lost (I used that to set up the plan originally).
Cheers

edit: JFC I verified this shit last night with a mod, look for my imgur post in this thread.
can I upload a video to a post I already made
Just thought I'd mention this. Five years ago RUFC were forced out of Millmoor because the rent was stupidly high, it was completely disproportionate to the level of football being played. United had to broker a deal with Sheffield City Council to use Don Valley Stadium, a stadium with a running track that had no atmosphere at all. During this time, attendences could be as low as a thousand, but the new owners finally managed to get a deal with Rotherham council for a brand new stadium in the town.
Five years on, the stadium is now a reality, and what a stadium. Rotherham have kicked on, and are now only a draw away from returning to League 1. Five years is a long time!
