A list of puns related to "Umber"
Hi. I'm going on my very first tournament and don't have too much play experience.
I am not super competetive and do not expect to win anything. However, I want to go down fighting (as Greatjon would) and have some fun games. This is the list I laid out. I am allowed to take an additional list. But I am somewhat limited by the number of models I can finish in time.
Commander: Greatjon Umber
Umber Greataxes with Greatjon Commander (7 pts)
Umber Berserkers with Sworn Sword Captain (7 points)
Mormont She-Bears with Rickon and Osha (7 points)
Shaggydog (3 points)
Stark Outriders (7 points)
NCU:
Eddard Stark (5 points)
Catelyn Stark (4 points)
This puts me at 40 points. Greataxes are durable and hit hard. They should synergise well with northern ferocity. Berserkers with Catelyn and Sworn Sword Captain should pack a punch early on. Mormont She Bears with Rickon and Osha are a risky target that can potentially deal devastating damage at low ranks with Catelyn. The Outriders add some maneuverability but I don't have a plan for them yet. Shaggydog fills up the points. I could scrap attachments and Shaggy for a unit of sworn swords though.
Regarding NCUs, I have to include Catelyn and Eddard can offer healing where needed.
I am not experienced at this game. How hard will I be stomped (aside from potential faction balance issues). I've heard shooty night's watch will win anyways and panic lists are strong. With the overall good morale on Stark Units, this might be manageable. The 2nd list might have Eddard commander to better deal with panic. Should I even go for Greatjon? I just love the model and the character but his cards seem useful but not outright powerful.
Thanks for reading and any comments. Cheers.
Edit: fixed the math

Per Merritt in the ASoS epilogue, dude was so drunk he should have been unconscious, took eight men to get him into chains, he broke the arm of the first dude to come at him and took the sword off him, then killed another guy and wounded two more. Then when they had his arms bound, he bit a dude's ear off.
How or why would HBO not show this!? Did we just really need the air time to see that pregnant lady stabbed in the stomach? Seriously D&D? AND NO FUCKING ICE-SPIDERS!!??

Biography
Born in 375AC, Rodrik Umber is the 30 year old Heir of Last Hearth and House Umber. Born to the second son of Lord Harrion Umber and his lady wife, Bethany Lake, he wasn't expected to inherit but instead was expected to serve since it was thought unlikely for his father, Edric, to inherit. Rodrik grew up as any noble scion was expected to, learning to read and write and learning other subjects as taught by the castleβs maester. However even as a child he showed little interest in anything besides hunting and fighting. From birth it was clear that he was gifted by the gods with strength. In childhood fights it was not unknown for Rodrik to be able to easily take on multiple boys at once. The more he grew the stronger he got and when he was able to start training with weapons he took to two-handed weapons, liking the greatsword but preferring to wield a two-handed greataxe. He trained in armor when he was old enough, his strength making him able to bear it like a second skin. While other lads would play he would practice his footwork in the training yard constantly to enable him to fight gracefully and effectively.
When he reached the age of 12 he was sent to foster at Winterfell with that branch of the Boltons. While there he would befriend much of the family, liking them as much as his own. Being sent to the ancient keep that formerly belonged to House Stark opened up his eyes to the world outside of Last Hearth, and he spent much time exploring the place, though his favorite place became the godswood. He had been dutiful to the olds before, but the ancient heart tree of Winterfell and the surrounding godswood inspired him to be more devout.
He returned to Last Hearth from his fostering at Winterfell on the eve of the start of the Bleeding. Rodrik would march with the Umber men that fought for the North and would kill his first man during the War. The Bleeding called to Rodrik and he would grow to love the bloodshed, throwing himself into the fray and le

Is it possible to use the same phone number from a deleted account on a new one? I've been waiting for my deletion process to finish (which it has) so I can apply the same phone number to my new one. But even after the account has been confirmed to be deleted, it says it's "invalid".
I know my own phone number so I know I'm not messing it up or anything. Does anyone know if it's an error or did I mess up by not disconnecting my phone number prior to deleting the old account?
Eh, eh! They would be so cute together! And it would totally work. Tui said she wanted Umber and Sora to come back in book 14 or 15, so they could meet in book 15. They have the same age gap as Peril and Clay, so nothing too crazy there. And Umber is already confirmed to be gay!
It would be such a wholesome ship! Or even if there's nothing romantic there, they'd make really good friends. It's a perfect relationship.
The Family tree on Serena Stark indicates Osric Umber and Arrana Stark as ancestors of House Umber and Robard Cerwyn and Aregelle Stark as ancestors of House Cerwyn. Osric and Arrana could be the parents of Harmond Umber "the Drunken Giant" who might be Hoarfrost's dad.
I'm just awful at making my own monsters, statistically speaking, are there any talented DM's out there who would be willing to stat out a Legendary or just higher CR Umber Hulk for me? This is for an ambush in Descent Into Avernus, so adding fiendish qualities would fit nicely. Thanks so much in advance!
Hey everyone~
Iβm currently doing a rewatch and had a question.
The Architect states that Ember and Umber flipped the world with castle blackspire over to build Fillory- hence the dwarfs basing the design of the castle off of the prison.
However, Ember was planning the destroy the world when he was bored. I was wondering how if this castle blackspire is so important to the gods, would they allow the risk of Ember destroying it? Since itβs a world on top a world, the would it have somehow managed to stop from being at least damaged in the aftermath of Ember, if he succeeded?
Greatjon Umberβs escape.
Iβm probably not the first to come up with this, but the sigil of House Umber is a roaring giant and Greatjon Umber is described as a huge man and one might even describe him as a giant, also, if you were to identify him by his sigil the same way Lannisters are called lions and Starks wolfs, then an Umber would be a giant.
The giant in the sigil is also in shattered chains and during the Red Wedding, the Greatjon was literally put in chains.
He is currently a prisoner of House Frey, and Jaime recently informed the Freys that the King requires all the captives taken at the Red Wedding. If the similarities between the Umber sigil and the Greatjonβs situation continue he should eventually break free of his chains, perhaps while being moved from Frey custody, and will likely be really pissed off. A roaring giant in shattered chains.
can someone make umber and reed a base? (please include the scars)? joy ang base
I don't know, it feels off.
For starters, we have no ties to them coming back whatsoever. We haven't had any mentions of them in like four or something books. They have basically been forgotten about by Tui until she can pull out something later, perhaps a winglet or landing one of them an important role in a potential arc 4.
Anyways, back to TFoH. There is literally nothing that points to them coming back, especially with having a major role. Umber / Sora aren't Representatives, they haven't even been mentioned in TDG, etc. If anything the siblings have just been deleted from existence like with characters such as Shark, Jambu, Icicle, Hailstorm, Vermilion, Smoulder, etc.
To be honest this ""theory"" seems more like wishful thinking and hoping than an actual theory. It's like with me hoping that we get more info on the Great Ice Dragon in arc 4 or a potential Scorching Legends despite knowing the chance is close to zero with how its almost been entirely retconned.
Made a post with this prompt on rpg stack exchange and thought I should post it here as well for more feedback and extend on the concept. DND 5e.
Mole-man is a player character with a burrowing speed from Claws of the Umber Hulk and is under the ground. That character is effectively in full cover, blinded and holding their breath. What character class, subclass, subclass options, spells, and/or magic item combinations would provide mole-man sufficient information of the surface to poke its head up each turn in a combat scenario without being within mΓͺlΓ©e reach of enemies?
Most of all UA content is on the table. No classes have been determined. My personal preference is towards Artificer Armourer allowing a more martial play style using the lightning launcher while the hands are occupied by Claws of the Umber Hulk. Ideally the build should be fully functional by levels 9-10.
In summary the objectives is: Player Character can determine with some accuracy the location of enemies on/above the surface while burrowed without using an action each turn.
Currently known options are:
Arcane eye - 4th level slot, concentration and only 30ft vision radius
β Scribe wizard's Manifest mind - Best option thus far, 6 lvls wizard
Wand of Enemy Detection - Direction but not distance within 60ft
Ring of X-ray vision - Only works within 3ft of the surface, less if not soil
Beyond the vision, what kind of builds would you like to do with a tunneling PC?
Some I thought of so far:
Beast Mole-barian (maybe that monk build) burrowing Thri-kreen
Tesla Mole (same thing mentioned above, maybe a dash of arcane trickster or eldritch knight)
Wizard Mole - Nerdy Ninja Mole (tabaxi or something falvoured as a mole) fighting with his manifest mind drone straight wizard or that arti 1 stuff
