A list of puns related to "Twangy"
YouTube hasn't helped, B string twangs open and basically every fret. Only string that twangs.
Ibanez Jem 777.

I think the basimilus is on bass duties so it might be plonk? if so, i didn't know plonk could do sounds like that
Hi all. I put new Jargar strings on my cello today and notice the A string sounds kind of piercing and twangy. Do these strings mellow out over time? Or would it be better to just get a different A string?
Hi all! Pardon my crude description, but Iβm looking for songs that have a similar vibe/instruments to these songs:
From Rusholme with Love - Mint Royale https://youtu.be/zOQCCqnuAzA
Prince of Parties - Flight of the Conchords https://youtu.be/4LLRk3_nogo
Both have a twangy, almost Indian sounding string instrument. Itβs a very psychedelic sound. Any help would be much appreciated!!
OK, check this out: Iβm trying to find some good country songs that have a dark mood with plenty of twangy, slide guitars and bass. Something in the same vein as Chris Stapletonβs βOutlaw State of Mindβ. I look online and most of the stuff I end up on is crap (at best) or just heavy metal with a slide guitar (at worst). Help a brother out!
Hey folks,
In the songs Running to Stand Still by U2, and Slice of Your Pie by Motley Crue, thereβs some guitar playing with a twangy, ghost town/desert vibe.
Anyone know some more songs with that sound I could check out?
In large part, the sound is what Iβd like to build my guitar tone around - if anyone has any tips on moving my playing in that direction, Iβm all ears.

Iβve played telecasters all my life, I have to classic vibes that I love (highly recommend for the price). Recently my dad got me a vintera 50s modified for my bday.
I play a little country and Iβm very used to that tele twang since I e played then my whole life. But this thing is obnoxiously twangy and trebly. Iβve tried to force myself to play it because my dad got it as a gift and what not but I tend to just leave it in its case because the tone is so annoying to me.
Is there anything I can do to make it sound better? It has custom shop pickups so I thought theyβd be good but did I get a dud or something?
I've narrowed it down to 3 choices. 90% of my playing is through a reverb tank with tremolo.
Strings undoubtedly make a big difference for tone and I wanted to hear some opinions on what people think gives the greatest Tele tone?
I suppose there are two factors to be debated:
String Make : Ernie Ball, Daddario, Rotosound etc. String Gauge: 9s, 10s, 11s even 12+...
Anyway let me know, I have done plenty of experimenting with Strats and prefer a 9.5-44 on my one which has a very low action so just wanted to see if Tele warrants different treatment or not. I recently bought an USA Tele which is quite twangy already, currently with 10-46 strings which I'll need to replace soon so that's the reason why I'm asking.
Such a funky, floaty groove--it's definitely my favourite track so far, what about y'all? π¦π
I think itβs from a funny YouTube video, features comedians dressed as bob Dylan and Joan Baez, singing a Dylan-esque, twangy version of the line,
βfrom the window, to the wall, til the sweat rolls down my balls, Iβm talkingβ βbout skeet skeet, skeet skeet skeet skeeeeeeeetβ
And Dylan says βback it up, Joan,β and she starts twerking...
The video is called something like βBob Dylan wrote every popular song from the past thirty yearsβ or something to that effect. I can now find articles referencing it, but I canβt find the video itself.
Itβs not the video of the guy doing a coffee shop cover. Itβs not even a full cover of the song, just the portion of the song quoted above
(Edit: the bob Dylan / Joan Baez part came to me while responding to a question below...)
I have been trying to find the right guitar strings to get a twangy sound for my acoustic guitar, but I can't seem to find it. A good example of what I'm looking for is in a live performance by M Ward. I'm not sure if it's the strings or possibly some sort of pedal that makes the guitar sound 'twangy' in this performance but any insight would be appreciated.
In the video, the solo at the end gives a good idea of what I'm looking for.
Iβm familiar with Pinegrove and King Gizzβs Fishing for Fishies album which I love, but Iβm hoping for some stuff like them. Thanks!
