Skull of Corporal G.H. Swift. He was injured at the battle of Chancellorsville, on May 3, 1863, when a musket ball fractured his skull. Surgeons attempted to trephine the wound but halted the procedure upon discovering that the inner surface of the skull was not fractured. He died on May 17.

Bone marrow biopsy and trephine recovery time

36, woman, 55 kg, 162 cm, blood tests results in normal ranges; I have mastocytosis.

I had bone marrow biopsy and trephine 8 days ago. Unfortunately, trephine didn't go as doctors had expected. They tried on both sides of my hips and about 4 times on the one side. The experience was traumatic on many levels, cause prior to biopsy I hadn't recieved any other anesthesia than local.

After few days I've started to feel better, but still I've felt pain and have became a little swollen, mainly on the more "affected", right side. I've tried to not strain myself physically. Yet yesterday I had to go for a walk and when I was coming back I've felt increasing pain. And since today morning I've been feeling a more pain all the time on the right side. It's not very disturbing, yet it's worse that before yesterday's walk.

Is this normal in the healing process? Thank you in advance for your opinions.
