If there is an obvious movie I have missed like In Bruges or Lockstock and Smoking Barrels for example I have probably seen it but just not recalled it or not included because I can't put every movie I've ever seen in a title. What I'm getting at is the more obscure and gem-like nature of the movie the better. Anything mainstream or well known per say I have seen.
I also have a sweet spot for the more absurd 'batshit' dark humor like someone recommended after hours or sorry to bother you for example.
I'm open to horror related movies as well such as Evil Dead 2; Braindead etc
Hey. I have never seen this film, but I've noticed a pretty good deal for the 4K Blu-Ray of this movie, thought I may check it out.
What can you tell me about the film? Do you think it's worth seeing in 2022?
Please don't tell me the plot details, so far the only thing I know is that a character in a Metal Gear Solid game named after this film, and that it contains the line, "Gentlemen, you cam't fight in here! This is the War Room!".

Hey everyone, I'm like super new to this whole sneakerhead/rep game and have been wanting retail versions of the strangelove for years so thought that'd be a good place to start. My dad was my boss. Building sets for tv with local 479, IATSE, a joke.
The lines between professional obligation and personal obligation were blurred, and abused.
The film industry is a monstrosity. I really can't explain how bad it all is here. They almost went on strike recently, but the producers folded to some softball crap before anything happened.
my last job was building sets at OFS, a building that OSHA should have condemned. we all got sick from the thick black dust (I suspect was glass as they manufactured fiberoptics) and the joke was that we had "caught the OFS". We were so overworked that half the crew was getting drunk to cope. Almost everyone had a several hour commute. The second in command ill call "V" was drinking somuch that by 10 am he was asleep in the medic tent, every day. But before 10, I was his whipping boy. He drove me to sob and I almost hit him several times. Someone punched a painter in the face after downing a 12 pack before lunch. these employees were on forklifts. half of them were getting divorced. people got hurt because they were too tired. That was only the last time I worked for him, I did the job for 6 years. I could go on for literal hours.
All that being said, he is actually one of the best employers in the biz. What a sad state of affairs that is! His employees love him because he plays the hero. he is charismatic, a rockstar. he feeds them breakfast. What they fail to realize is that he simply abstracts the role of asshole boss onto V, who is without a doubt the most miserable man Ive ever met. He has said to me many times, "Its not a good day unless you bleed". but the other employees are so enamored of my father that they overlook V. they dont see the good cop bad cop routine as clearly. Its good to remember your boss is responsible for the actions of those they employ.
I have moved on from that industry. I walked off that last show never to return. Unfortunately I have depended on my father, but since loves playing hero he was more than happy to help me with the occasional financial bump. So I tried my best to forget it, Hes my dad after all. Family is precious. I moved on to other things, started to get my life in order, figure out who I would be now that I had to choose. The pandemic knocked my legs out from under me again. Through a wild turn of events the only place I could find to live was right next door to him. Renting house from a friend, it was the only option after

Dr. Strangelove is peppered with sexual innuendos throughout the film. Something you have to really take quick notice on to get the joke/reference, which imo is exactly like How To with JW is. If you even look away for a second you’ll miss a joke. They’re both dark humor comedies. Even the opening credits are similar as two planes “mate” while orchestral love music plays in the background with a very similar handwritten “How To” title floats over the scene. There are a plethora of more intricate details that are similar between the two such as the the titles are basically both “How To” instructionals. Also and imo How to Woth John Wilson almost has an apocalyptic/end times trope about it. Would love to hear if anyone else has made the connection between the two or if I’m really reaching with this. If you haven’t seen Dr. Strangelove it’s ironically available to screen on HBO Max.
