A list of puns related to "Moog"
You're welcome, Moog! I don't know why you haven't done it already!
Casting the weekly line:
Looking for a few pretty specific things including an Access Virus TI2 desktop or 37-key synth, a Modor NF-1, a Mellotron variant, a vintage EHX 16 Second Delay, a Chase Bliss Spectre V1 or a Danelectro Dead on β67 Baritone. Also would be interested in other rare CBA pedals and a Radial USB-Pro DI Box. Feel free to reach out if you have something else that may be appealing, but Iβm going to be pretty choosey with most of these. Also willing to talk sale prices based on current Reverb values.
I have one verified trade here and multiple trades pending. Also as a Reverb shop with 150+ five star reviews for credentials.
Happy to ship, but local deals around the Milwaukee / Madison / in between Milwaukee and Chicago areas would be great too.
Happy days!
I made my first synth purchase in February of this year, and settled on a Korg Wavestate. A few months later, I picked up a DFAM and M32. While the Wavestate is very "cool", I have never been so charmed by an instrument like I am by the Moogs. They have the most personality out of any instrument I have ever touched. Of course, now all I can think about is how great it would be to throw a Grandmother in the mix.
I think the Wavestate creates some of the most interesting textures and sounds I have heard - but I can't help but feel how "digital" of an experience it is to play it in comparison to my Moogs. Most of the power comes from advanced parameters and menu diving. 10 years ago I would've been thrilled to do this, but nowadays I would just rather spend that time actually playing. I don't have much of a piano background, outside some basic chords and scales, so much of the wavestate is just holding one key and exploring soundscapes - fun, but I don't feel as if I can create much or perform.
Of course, I can't just keep buying new synths without first selling some stuff. So now it might be time to offload the Wavestate, pickup a Grandmother, and perhaps sell the pile of expensive guitar equipment sitting in the corner so I can grab a mixer and some effects pedals.
Slippery slope... but I have never felt this excited about creating music. This community is so inspiring, and I love you for it!
I'm looking for any tracks where a moog is boss. I thought I knew loads but on review it seems to always play second fiddle, I would appreciate any pointers
I was playing around using the sequencer and went to turn the filter cutoff knob. All sound immediately went away , nothing coming out. I don't know what happened. I removed all the patch cables, powered down, unplugged and turned it back on and nothing. I turned it on drone and finally got some sound, but all 4 oscillators sounded like a beating lfo. It would even change frequency if I changed the octave, and sweeping the filter changed thr sound of the "sound" coming from the oscillators. I emailed Moog about it but thought I would check here to see if anyone had a similar experience.
Please post directly in the thread or use the PM function (envelope icon) and not the chat (word bubble) as I cannot see chat on mobile. Thanks!
Pedals with prices are for sale, price includes shipping and PayPal fees. They're all cheaper than Reverb but shoot me an offer if you like. I'll discount further if you buy/trade for multiples. Pedals without a price are not for sale, i.e. trade only.

So I just bought all of these modules to build my first eurorack which I will use along with my Moog. My biggest concern is with power right now, Iβm gonna be way under the 1000mA that the Zeus will provide. The power consumption of my modules will be ~442mA. I once read somewhere that a healthy system will use 80% of the supply mA; So the big question is will I face any potential issues that you guys could foresee?
Also I want to make sure Iβm summing that consumption correctly, Iβm adding the mA from both 12 and -12 volts for each module.
Lastly I am open to any advice or expansion recommendations, I know there are some risky moments with hooking up the ribbon cable so I intend to study quite a bit before flipping that power switch.
Thanks to anyone who takes the time to help me out, I really appreciate it!
WTTF: Mythos Oracle, Prince of Tone, Empress Tape Delay, Chase Bliss preamp, Mellotron Mini, Mu-Tron Phasor III, Shin-Ei Companion RI. Musical style context - Here and here are examples of music I have been practising/producing recently - these are not perfect or great, please don't judge.
This is my setup so far
The Grandmother has been haunting me for ages now and I love the sound. If I get the Grandmother, the Boog will probably not be used so much. I have also been looking to get a Keystep to control and sequence the gear. I don't intend to go down the hardware FX route as of now. Really happy with VSTs in the Maschine. I have trained on the keyboard (harmonium), so I like to have a keyboard in front of me - not too comfortable playing the pads on the Maschine. MIDI thru is important.
Now, here are my options
Some more context before you suggest other synths - we don't get a lot of options where I live. I bought/buy whatever synths I have only because these are the only ones available. Buying used is out of question because of poor demand for analog synths. Fortunately, the only big importer of Moog for the country is from my city - they work with Moog and Arturia. The only other synths available are the Behringers off Amazon (they might have some shady business practices, but I really admire what they have done with their supply chain)
Thanks in advance!
I want a proper synth vst, mostly just for that good old 90s hip hop classic Moog bass. Is Arturia mini V one of the best for that am I right?
I want to buy my first modular synth and i want to know the main differences in sound between these two synths
I have a Mother-32 paired with another Moog 60HP skiff and the 2 tier kit, and I love the format of it. The whole setup is easy to see and looks smart on my desk.
I'd like to add additional capacity and I wouldn't be opposed to two additional Moog 2 tier kits but I really don't like the idea of all of those power supplies and wall warts. Is there a case maker that sells a "low profile" and wide desktop case, 2 rows, with at least 100hp per row? I have a TipTop Mantis and it's hard to see when you lay it back, I like the format of the Moog setup better but I don't like the power supply limitations.
