A list of puns related to "Statuesque"
I have a story for you today. Names reduce for anonymity.
I have had some of the worst luck playing 5e with my friends. The first time I encountered what I will affectionally dub Statuesque fights happened when we were playing 5e nearing the end of a very long Campaign.
We were deep in the halls of a Jade palace attempting to cross our way through a demi-plane to get to the top of essentially Mount Olympus to call on the aid of the gods to stop the now 2 BBEG's from devastating the earth. I was playing an Armorer Artificer Half Orc, D was playing a Barbarian/Monk Lizardfolk, J was playing a Elf Sorcerer, A was playing a Tortle Paladin, and K was playing a Pugilist Homebrew Tabaxi.
After clearing the first few rooms of enemies and finding what appeared to be a deck of many things of a Natural 20 plus extra Intelligence check to open a puzzle cube we were headed to the Grand Hall of this palace to mop up the Giant Frog Wizard that had mocked us and teleported us into his Demi Plane. We enter the room and things quickly go from Banter to Battle. It was the 5 of us versus him and his 2 clones
Initiative checks and we start rolling die. However besides that earlier natural 20 I was not rolling so hot tonight. And moment later after nearly everyone else in the party got their turns I sadly went after the frog man. His Clone casted a Hold Person on me and the Pugilist after the main Clone casted Greater Invisibility On the 3 of them. Our sorcerer tried and failed on her Counter Spell. The thing about Artificers is that wisdom is a dump stat. And Mine was negative. I failed for nearly 5 turns to get out of hold person before that battle was over. I spent the entire time defeated and unmoving. The Pugilist got lucky and rolled out after the 2nd round. I was obviously upset but there wasn't much I could really get mad at. A level 14 Artificer forgetting to use counterspell and being Held for 5 turns was really bad.
I didn't think he was targeting me and after a post session discussion we were all making jokes about it. No harm no fowl.
However a couple of weeks ago we were playing in a different Campaign when we came across a new dragon from Fizbens Dragons Guide that just came out. The Cloud Dragon in this book has a NASTY breathe weapon that can paralyze a HUGE amount of people in a massive aoe. The dragons save for this is also Constitution. However I was playing as a druid and didn't have a very high Con save. Turn one of combat starts. Dragon Breath wea

Steal marble white as purest snow
With chisel and hammer carve by hand
Perfection in the shape of man
Let every maid from miles fawn
O'er sightless eyes and frozen brawn
Plant kisses on his beardless chin
And praise this beauty free of sin
Find me instead in forests deep
Moss and mushrooms at my feet
Fingers curled βround branch and thorn
As beauty from the muck is born
Here in the dirt, here in the night
The smells of life and rot delight
Farewell to sunlight, for now I swoon
Under the wild and howling moon
Oh you can keep your statuesque men
With their strong jaws and perfect skin
Give me a man with heat in his breath
And the roar of a beast in his heart

I made a reply in another thread but I should have made a thread for it probably: On the subject of IOBs and visions. I'm looking for some meaning or guidance. If anyone has had anything similar I would like to hear it. I'm just starting Dark Room practice, and it seems to be working. I have yet to reach the same visuals I had last year, but nowadays I have mostly seen Purple light, like I did right after this vision.
I had one the night before last. I passed out and woke up shortly after the experience in another layer (false awakening as some say) first before waking up fully. This happens to me often enough that it's become somewhat normal, but it's my first time in many months that I remember.
I woke up, went to pee, then went back to bed and open eye stared / meditated around 3 am but didn't check the time. Before I knew it I had passed out, and woke up in a tunnel / tube of energy.
There was an entity looking like an archon from Starcraft and his eyes were like eye lids with some sort of web / veins going over them, same color as his body, which was blue with little spots of like darker energy or freckles. He didn't say anything that I remember but when I looked at his eyes my other vision had the words in text "gomot eyes" then I suddenly became aware of myself in bed, trying to scream and semi panicking, I wanted to call out for my brother real bad.
I felt electricity and energy running thru my body and especially my brain or my head at least. as I was becoming aware of my body, I realized I had just come out of a small speck of white light that was in the corner of my room towards the south west, then as I tried to scream I woke up a second time in bed. I thought to myself, "I guess I'm not ready" but most of my terror was gone. I knew, for some reason, that a single, simple look from this being's eyes could kill.
The word Gomot which I hadn't heard before: meaning is to catch or take something from and the definition of a gomot is a word that expresses action or a state of being. Verb ~ the part of speech that expresses existence, action, or occurrence. http://lookdef.com/meaning/gomot.htm
Can't find any other sources for that, as it's old english.
