A list of puns related to "Stardew"
I think pigs are overrated. I'd much rather have a farm full of ducks because the quacks are adorable even if I make less money in the long run.
I'm curious what others thoughts are about other parts of the game.
I think that games that give the option to mod them are the best, and that's because accessibility can (Hopefully) happen.
I am a fully blind gamer. In 2021, a modder decided to try to make Stardew accessible so blind gamers could play too.
The accessibility mod is in beta, but already we can do so many things.
I am here because I want to say that this is accessible, mostly.
I am here to tell you to share it forward if you have blind friends or family because everyone deserves to enjoy this game.
I created a Youtube video where I explained a little how we can play, but I will post the link only if the moderators agree.
Edit: Moderators approved, here's the link.

Have fun playing, and happy new year!
Will I ever get her back?
To quote her, βI have become one with this game.β
In early game, my BF and I thought we needed to put bait on our fishing rods ONE PIECE AT A TIME. So, we would apply one bait, hook a fish, apply another bait, hook a fish and so on. We even discussed this at length, why the game told us every. single. time. "You have used you last piece of bait." Yeah, duh, we know that!
What's your most embarrassing or forehead slapping game play moment?
Pescatarian means a diet consisting of plants, and dairy/eggs are ok but no animal flesh other than fish/seafood.
I'm guessing ConcernedApe didn't want to add a "butcher" mechanic, so we can't convert our animals into pieces of meat. But it just occurred to me that all food in Stardew Valley is plant-based, dairy/eggs, and fish/seafood. I know it's kinda obvious but I just thought it was interesting. I wonder if there are any pescatarian societies in real life.
- She refers to Elliot as "Fabio"
- She thought Linus would be mad because she accidentally put out his campfire
- Can never find Clint's shop
- She was worried she may have over-watered her plants
- Couldn't find Jodi to give her the cauliflower she wanted
- Ended up eating the cauliflower in the mines to survive
- Got lost on her way to the flower dance, realized the dance was actually taking place the day after
- Got turned down by Elliot at the flower dance
- Still can't find Jodi
- Found a bomb and immediately proceeded to blow herself up
I've put so much time into this game, it's actually really cool to share it with someone for the first time! Makes me wish I could experience it all again for the first time too.
edit: my mom absolutely loves these comments lmao I didn't expect this to blow up like it did
Mine is that you can't push the chairs in at the dining table!! Ugh!!!
stardew valley is a great game with a very wholesome atmosphere but pelican town and the surrounding area are pretty depressing, specially without our farmer's input
so thank god we showed up to help
My SO loves playing Stardew Valley. I'm the gamer in the relationship but with this game she started liking the idea of discovering new games. Since I haven't played many games like stardew I'm looking for other games that she might like since she has already tried games like Zelda and more traditional platformers that she didn't like very much or found them too hard.
Any help?
Edit: damn! I think I have suggestions for her for the next 5 years. You are awesome. Definitely helped me out.
Is worth It to buy pigs in Stardew Valley? they are so expensive
Hi there.
With the holidays around the corner, I wanted to give back to the community. I got two of my most memorable games through giveaways when I was younger (Terraria & Minecraft). Now that I'm older, I've got the opportunity to share some of that and pay it forward.
Anyways, enough of that. You're here for the giveaway.
Deadline: 12/23/21 5pm EST
Prizes:
How to enter: Comment to enter.
If this gains lots of traction, I'll likely use RedditRaffler or some similar tool to decide a winner, but if not just let me know what game you'd get or why you want a certain game, and I'll choose based on that.
And happy holidays. I hope everyone stays safe and has lots of fun.
P.S. If you win and don't want or already have Stardew Valley or Terraria, while I'd love to give it to someone who does want that specific game (I love these two games and want to share that experience), I'd also let you choose a game of up to equal value.
Edit: Choosing the winners and messaging them shortly.
Congrats to the winners! /u/Garkenful /u/junnejulyaugust /u/lilianaofthevess /u/SneackyPeacky60
I will send you a message and get your Steam profile, etc.
I'm a teenager with a passion for maths and physics and a passion for art and I've always loved playing video games but I don't know how far I'm going to get if I don't have experience with mainstream games, gta, call of duty, apex, forza horizon and all that stuff which seems like most companies are creating. if I have to google walkthroughs for things like celeste and portal I might not have it in me to create difficult challenges. could a job in programming be more focused on making things work than making them challenging and fun?
I own the game on Nintendo Switch already but I'm contemplating getting it on PC so I can mod it.
Stardew Valley is an immensely popular game in its own right, the mix of farming and enjoying everyday life in a small village month by month is super satisfying and many people already use Stardew Valley itself for language learning because of the simplicity of dialogue and wide number of languages it supports.
But what if someone made a Stardew Valley style game where you live your everyday life in a small town but instead of going to the village as a farmer, you are visiting a small town as a foreign exchange student.
The dynamic would consist of having either a free period in the morning or afternoon, and a language school period at the other time 5 days a week. It would be like Stardew Valley and go day to day for months and years. And there would be local events and holidays that occur at set times each year.
There could be a cookie cutter template of 2400 words being taught, 5 a day for 5 days a week, 4 weeks a month, 12 months a year, for 2 years. And the player could be given a Pokedex style device that collects their learned vocabulary, let them review it with SRS flashcards, and also let's you click on objects in the world and see their target language translation Influent-style and add them to your Pokedex style device. Can also have a grammar handbook with grammar explanation bullet points up to a B1 level.
Can receive various homework quests each week to do that require you to find things, help townies, or accomplish tasks around town using your target language. You can also take part time jobs (that have language learning minigames), have a rented apartment you can decorate with funds you make from part time work, can also buy gifts to give to various towns peoples and develop relationships with events in a Stardew Valley fashion.
As you talk to people initially, everything will be in your target language (except for your teacher or fellow exchange student NPCs), as certain vocabulary gets added to your Pokedex style device you can tap on words to see their translation in a text, and when keywords are learned in your Pokedex you can unlock new dialogue options. A word needs to be successfully reviewed 3 times to unlock dialogues. And traveling around town and picking up words before they are introduced in class can offer dialogue paths earlier than they would normally appear in class (or even unique dialogues that wouldn't normally appear in a play through).
At the end of the 2 years you have the choice to stay and continue living ev
