A list of puns related to "Squash Sport"
Really wanna blowoff steam, what better to do than play Squash
Never played Tennis, Badminton, etc before and all the local fields for racket sports are closed except for a local gym's squash room. My apartment complex as an entire section of nothing but hard brick walls so I have plenty of time to practise whenever I want and luckily one of my neighbors has been playing squash since she was 6 so I can get free instructions while staying in my residence.
So will Squash skills transition to Badminton and other racket and ball sports? In particular will it help make it much easier to learn Tennis? I hope to learn Tennis and start playing some day but as I said all areas have been closed including fenced places n public areas due to COVID and as a result no Tennis instructor is available in town since all the coaches and sports clubs and gyms don't live here but drove here to teach on weekends.
So will practising with my neighbor help prepare me for some of the barebones basics of tennis, pickleball, and other sports using a racket?
Hello all :)
I just rolled my ankle playing squash in my running shoes (I know, my bad).
I'm now on the hunt for some minimalist shoes that will hold up in sports with lots of pivoting and lateral movement.
There are a few low drop court shoes like https://www.mizunoshoesnz.me/mizuno-mens-volleyball-shoes-sale-mizuno-wave-momentum-whitedark-grey-mizuno-nz-p-448.html which I'm looking at.
Does anyone have any good experiences?
I have easy access to Squash courts and other players. So if I play Squash well does this mean I'll quickly take up Racquetball?
Does anyone know of anywhere in the Seattle metro for badminton, squash, or otherwise other indoor individual sports. From my research it looks like the only option is whether you can afford a few hundred a month to join a private club (Seattle AC, Washington AC), or, be an alumni of UW (which I am no to both...).
Was hoping to find somewhere I could ideally to pay a drop-in fee, or otherwise a monthly membership just for this (i.e. not all gym etc.).
Any suggestions?
Hey does anyone play squash in lucknow ?
Where I come from, racket sports are generally considered the domain of the privileged and well-to-do. But among my sphere of friends and colleagues in the UK and Ireland it seems they are... entirely commonplace? It feels like all of them - many expressly working class if you'd pop the question - have taken tennis classes through their childhoods and seem some degree of bemused when I tell them I've never stepped on a court in my life.
Are my friends less working class than they let on or do I just need to find an instructor to fit into society?
I heard that breakdancing is to be included in the next Olympics and no one I've spoken to can understand why that is included but a more obvious sport like squash isn't?
Trying to figure out where to play, apart from the RA Center.
Looking at the ottawa.ca website says their recreation centers have it, but don't list which have courts. The cities website is nearly useless to help me figure out which facility has a court.
Where should I be looking?

Hello,
I just been browsing through the sports teams in UC Irvine and I couldn't particularly find a squash team or even a intramural sport that represented that sport. I am a squash player and I would love to start a club team though there are not any squash courts in UC Irvine anteater recreation gym but there are courts in the surrounding area. If I can get a grasp of the squash community, how many people on this sub heard of squash or play it? And is it possible for the school to build in squash courts. They are cheap and not that hard to construct.
I'm a relatively new transplant to Oakville. Obviously, given the pandemic, I've just focused on jogging and some Peloton'ing - much like everyone else.
With things opening up soon (this week?), I'm really interested in playing some pickup soccer (or in a recreational league). I'd also be keen on playing squash. I'm relatively decent in both, but my stamina needs some work.
Can anyone here suggest pointers? Are there Facebook groups I could join? Specific sports clubs? Discord? I'd like to build up my 'sports' social circle here.

Curious if anyone who lives in Temecula plays squash. I dont think there's any courts here but maybe in SD? Any thoughts appreciated.
I know thereβs only a couple places with squash courts but does anyone have recs on a specific place?
Or interest in playing a moderate yet out of practice player?
A lot of sports are gaining huge momentum currently around the globe. And yes, I'm basically talking about Padel but didn't want to put that into the header... π These people who start playing i.e. Padel have never played racquet sports before, and now that they have had the introduction how should be take that into consideration in squash?
I'm feeling that we are missing a huge potential if we don't even discuss this topic. We are basically digging ourselves deeper into foxholes with oldschool elitism and exclusivity at this point.
Personally I've been toying with two things here:
1) What are the things that are pulling people towards these new sports in masses? Are there some thing we can adopt (Americano style tournament for club players, special nights for beginners ["Red ball Wednesdays" etc])? Try to think the core reason people shift into these sports.
2) Work together with other sports: I've done a switcharoo classes with our squashclub to the local padel club. Our players went there for a try, and a band of Padel players came to squash for a lesson. Both teams had a couple of people who actually picked the other sports up, and they now play both. I see this as a win-win for everyone. Why isn't this done more?
Any other ideas?
Do I need to buy eyewear made specifically for squash or not really? Thanks in advance.
Trying to play squash in Ottawa: A saga -
We've just moved to Ottawa and were hoping to continue playing squash. Years ago now, at Windsor Squash and Fitness, the club OWNER sat down with us and worked out what we could afford to pay for a membership, essentially creating a rate for us to be able to play squash because growing the sport was incredibly important to them.
Here, the RA Centre - basically the only place to play squash in Ottawa - ignores my emails asking for assistance with a squash membership for a week.
Finally we get through via Facebook messenger. They tell us to call. We call and the person who answers the phone doesn't know anything about squash memberships.
We Facebook message again. The Facebook message person very nicely gives us HER number to call directly. Husband does so and specifically asks if the three month membership can be paid for in increments, rather than all up front - $400 is a bit steep for us to manage all in one go. The woman on the phone assures him it can be.
Today, we go down to the RA Centre to sign up - in almost 2021, signing up is not something that can be done online or over the phone and must be done in person.
The people at the desk want $400, right now. Month to month is not an option.
We leave and send another Facebook message, and the Facebook messenger lady now says that month to month on the three month membership is NOT an option.
The moral of this story is don't try to deal with the RA Centre, and don't try to play squash in Ottawa.
Also that we're looking for an indoor winter sport to play that won't cost an arm and a leg. Any leads?
I have easy access to racquetball courts and other players. So if I play racquetball well does this mean I'll quickly take up squash?
