I'm new to the subreddit so apologies for any faux-pas.
I recently setup my home cinema system in my new place, and the first movie I watched was the original Conan the Barbarian. I enjoyed it so much even though I've seen it before, and wanted to see if anyone could recommend similar movies so that I have a bit of a backlog to work through in the winter months.
I guess the main characteristics I enjoyed were:
- Great cinematography and colour, perhaps helped by a recent 4k/hdr transfer
- Practical special effects, or at a decent amount of real-world sets. I enjoy scenes in movies where the actors are responding to what they see and hear around them, rather than the slightly "off" tone you often get with green-screen.
- Uplifting tone - this doesn't mean the movie has to have a happy ending, more that the tone overall is uplifting. For example maybe it's a horror movie where everyone gets hacked to bits, but the actors are having a blast and that really comes through in the end product.
I'd also add that I'm always on the look out for "rewatchable" movies, ie movies that you know you can stick on every now and again and still enjoy. Conan is a great example of this, similarly Hot Fuzz, or (for me) Andrei Tarkovsky's Stalker.

Original Anime Figures
When it comes to figures from original anime, it never specified it had to be from a movie, just anime original.

- Connor bought 4 - The Shinkalion (if you count that as Eva like the poll did) from Evangelion, Garland from Megazone 23, Totoro from Totoro and No-face's from Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi.
The Boys said Connor bought 2 no-faces, I could only find one in the spreadsheet by u/xMarron so let me know if that is one or two. (Edit: seems lika it actually was two) If it is two, Connor wins the point for most anime original figures, but looses it for a duplicate. If it's not, Garnt ties with Connor for original figures.
Howls moving Castle and Kiki's Delivery Service are based on books and Laputa is based on a story from Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift so they aren't anime original (I guess Laputa is debateable). There are manga of both Eva and FLCL but the manga are adaptions, not the anime. The Akira movie was made while still working on the manga, but it counts as an adaption.
Best Figure
So in the poll, Garnt won best figure overall, probably because of the Fate figure, but on the stream, all the boys agreed that the finished Akira bike was the best figure so I think that should take the win.
tldr;
Considering all this (if there was only 1 No-Face)
- Garnt would have
98Points (+1 for contending most anime original figures, -1 for not the best figure) - Connor would have 6 Points (+1 because he didn't loose a duplicate to No-face and +1 because of best figure)
- Joey would have -2 Points (because he should have gotten -8 for the Among Us Duplicates)

I recently bought a Fender Player Telecaster on Ebay that had a Seymour Duncan Hot Rails on the neck and a Dimarzio Chopper T on the bridge. From what I understand, this is a peculiar setup for a tele.
I was wondering how the tone would change from these picks up to switching to the Fralins Blues Special Set? Right now the neck sounds much louder than the bridge and the middle position sounds weak
