A list of puns related to "Solera"
TLDR: Anyone able to provide any recent data points on the time it took to open an account an institutional account Gemini for a self directed IRA?
It has been weeks with no response from Gemini regarding my application for an institutional account at Gemini via Rocket Dollar / Solera.
I had IRA funds in the grayscale products ETHE and GBTC, but would like to free those up and buy the coins themselves instead of those crappy Trusts. I have successfully wired funds over to Solera, but still awaiting approval from Gemini to actually buy the coins. I really want to get the $ back in the market before it takes off again.
It's been about 3 weeks. Just looking for some recent datapoints to see how long people have waited before getting the account opened there, or any advice from anyone to speed up the process.
Thanks!
I was just gifted a bottle of Porteno 15 year old solera colombian rum. Any suggestions for what I should do with it? Is it appropriate for any cocktails, rum or substituting rum for whiskey in a cocktail? Or should I just be sipping it? TIA!
Salut, recent am descoperit un nou proiect, mai exact solera x, cu tokenul solx care pare promitator, de ce zic pare? pentru ca niciodata nu trebuie sa fii 100% de ceva, intotdeauna sa te gandesti si la neprevazut, si nu pot sa va garantez nimic, cineva garanteaza ceva si tu mergi pe premiza "crede si nu cerceta", esti cu un picior in gropara, do your own research.
Proiectul are ca scop principal crearea si utilizarea de energie verde in metaverse, "SOLERA X metaverse promises to every user a life in a virtual earth where everyone

Would the older Glenmorangieβs that sat in other casks after the 10 years maybe be more suitable?
Weird question, and this is all based on the idea that the first fill is a new barrel. Presuming you half empty the barrel and top up with new make? Considering commercial distilleries are making βbourbonβ white dog by filling through a new barrel surely this would be viable too?
I have made a blend of a couple reds that exceed the sum of the whole
It is currently in a 5 gallon carboy.
I have this notion I'd like to try a solera and bottle 3 or 3 1/2 gallons and put in some of this year's cab.
Dumb?
Good idea?
Interested?
Anyone try this?
The extreme end of this notion includes purchasing a 5 gallon barrel and seeing where it goes over time.
What do you think?
I'm home alone tonight and racking.
Speak up.
I bought this super local Mexican rum in Veracruz, Veracruz a few years ago. Locally made for 88 years by a local liquor distributor and store.
I love the old school label, but Iβve also been confused by the label saying it contains βselect grape wines,β so I started to wonder if it was actually a brandy. But a quick check of their website shows an update bottle and that it is a rum. Still very confused about the label and the grapes.
Aside from the neat story, for me this was so so. I was reluctant to finish the bottle for nostalgic reasons, but finally finished it off. I also still have a flask size left.
The rum is a little dark and tastes sweet. I tasted some vanilla and banana. A little too watery for me, but some bite and burn. I should have tried this in a cocktail.

Posting this as a data point if useful for other. Local installer in MA. $17.4k before any incentives. This is higher per watt that I've seen other people post, but I suspect it's because of smaller system size and generally higher Boston labor costs. The equipment seems above average as well.
Received 4 other quotes including Sunrun and Tesla. Tesla had the best pricing, but I wanted more handholding and was suspicious whether the battery credits were real.
Hi Homebrewers of Reddit,
I am going to pick up a 10L oak cask to do dabble in creating a solera cask for stouts. As far as I know the solera process is where you bottle about half of what is in the barrel and then refill with freshly brewed/fermented beer and continue the process from there. I would only be using this oak cask for stouts with similar recipes (to not muddle the flavors) and would keep it at cellar temp.
Has anyone tried this? Are there any tips for the solera process? Let me know!
I've been looking to purchase a guitar and stumbled across one that I was keen on from solera flamenca. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with ordering one from this vendor (or any other non-UK vendor) and whether they knew anything about the shipping procedure etc? I live in the UK so due to Brexit, importing anything from the EU has been made more complicated and I wanted to know if anyone else was familiar with how it worked and how I would go about paying any VAT and/or import duties
Any help or advice would be very much appreciated!
With the latest CFO being replaced by a Solera exec...it's a bit worrying that Tony Aquila may be attempting a sort of hostile takeover.
If they even consider replacing Ullie, I'm out. We don't need a bunch of finance "guru" bullshit execs taking over a company built by engineers.

Vista Equity Partners-backedΒ Solera Holdings Inc.Β is in talks to go public via a merger with blank-check firmΒ Apollo Strategic Growth Capital, according to people familiar with the matter.
The SPAC has begun talks with investors about raising equity to support a transaction with the financial software company, said the people, who asked to not be identified because the matter isnβt public.
A deal is expected to value the company at more than it was worth in 2016, when it went private for $6.5 billion, including debt, the people said.

yesterday there was a post about Papa's pilar "23 solera profile" dark rum, and people not being able to understand it. So I wrote off to them asking for their difference between "solera profile" and regular solera rum.
Below is their response. Nice and quick customer response back.
----
Thanks for reaching out! Great question and we can definitely assist.
The 'Solera Profile' comes from how we blend our rum, we solera blend using a proprietary process. Solera is a fractional blending process first developed in Portugal and Spain for Port and Sherry. We employΒ a proprietary solera system for Papa's Pilar that contains rums sourced from multiple countries.
The numbers on the front of our bottle represent the solera taste profile in our artisanal blend. It mentions this on the back of the bottle. Our Papaβs Pilar Blonde Rum is a blend of 5 rums, the rum blend includes rum aged up to 7-years old. Our Papaβs Pilar Dark Rum is a blend of 7 rums, the rum blend includes rum aged up to 24 years old. The label on the side of each bottle showcases where the rum blends are sourced from in relation to countries of origin.
Both our Dark and Blonde rums pass through American Oak Bourbon barrels. The Dark then enters Port Barrels. They both then spend time in Oloroso Spanish Sherry casks. The Sherry Finished Rum then goes back into fresh Oloroso Sherry casks for a concentrated time.
Our Solera is not time based, thus there is no set amount of time for the rum in each layer. It depends on the reaction from the wood and the previous occupant of the barrel, therefore itβs up to the rum makers to decide when the rum has the correct amount of flavor before moving to the next level down.
Hope this answers your question and helps!

So I have a 1.5+ year old golden sour solera that I just took 2 gallons off of and refilled with fresh wort. However after a couple weeks I didn't notice any visible signs of fermentation. Am I doomed?
I know a lot of people choose to preferment their fresh wort but I wanted to keep my bugs intact without introducing anything new, and wanted to give them as much sugar to work with. Should I try pitching fresh yeast or growing up a starter or should I be more patient.
