A list of puns related to "Sketchup"
Iβm a general contractor and my 8 year old loves watching me create projects, like kitchens and bathrooms, in Sketchup. Is there anything comparable and safe for a young child to dabble in?
Actually I am pretty weak at modelling fast in 3ds max , so I wanted to know that can I model in SketchUp and render in 3dsmax vray . If yes can someone share detail tutorial on this please . And what's the scene of materials do they get. Imported from SketchUp or do I have to assign them separately in 3ds ?
I'm tired of that google sw being one of a kind π
I was originally taught sketchup in school however recently Iβve made the switch to Rhino and iβve found it to be a far superior software. I admit sketchup is very user friendly but at a certain point that simplicity seems to compromise usability. For example in sketchup all tools are displayed as icons and are very straightforward and easy to understand, but not including a tool search function such as the one in rhino and autocad just seems inefficient. Also the fact that you canβt even join lines in sketchup unless you download a paid plugin that barely works is mind boggling. As far as I can tell everything you can do in sketchup can be done in rhino faster and more efficiently. I see no reason why as a professional you would choose to use sketchup as your primary design tool.
Thanks in advance for any constructive criticism. Playing with sketchup for the 1st time to design by modifying a build I found from Viktor @ thediyplan. Trying to create a combined shoe/boot storage (blue); console table (yellow); seat (red) for entry space. Will this hold up well? Any other comments including locations of the rabbets/dados? Was planning on glue and pocket screws, probably glue-ups of three 2x6's for flat panels.
Edit: the horrific colours are just for planning! it's not for the entrance to google hq, lol.

It's a cedar shaker (shingle), and since I need the tiles to be realistic. I need a strategy or plugin that will help me make a lot of tiles that vary in width and be placed in a random pattern.
Does anyone know how to do this? I'm also looking for a virtual tutor if you know how to do it.
My office recently upgraded to SketchUp 2021 and I used to hold alt when in the bucket tool to eyedrop off another surface, and just let go of the alt key to bucket a surface. Now this is super finicky and it looks like I have to press bucket after I eyedrop. Is there a way to change this? I am going crazy, and its disrupting my work flow. I am confused why they would add a step to a shortcut...
Hi folks!
I got a few pictures (from my phone) of the blue prints of my house that is being built and was wondering if anyone offers some Sketchup services where they could translate it into the tool and share the file?
Why? My wife wants to start thinking about arranging the house and this would give her something to visualize.
A friends kid is really into submarines, and I, as a former USN submariner and current 3D Printing fanatic, would like to print him a couple of models. However, the only models that I've found of the boats that he really likes (Skipjack and Ohio) are Sketchup files. Anyone here that has Sketchup willing to export these as STL for me?
DM me if you can help. Thank you!
