Cause I wanna.
If I had to choose a favorite, it would be The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Milay. I've been chasing that high ever since, I think. It has such a slow and peaceful build. That story is instantly soothing to me. I want something to get lost in.
Looking for contemporary reccs that are intimate - maybe angsty or coming from a place of grief? You know the types...the ones you read on a rainy day when you feel like having a cry.
High quality writing is really important to me. I just had to abandon one where MMC used a single rose to trace FMC's body and then used it to stimulate her clit. It was such a record-scratch moment for me that I just couldn't continue.
So, I guess, intimate, heartbreak, emotional, slow burning, wonderfully written "I'm sick and snotty" books.
Perhaps this was one of the reasons why Chara was initially thought to be a genocidal demon who cared nothing but themselves. There are several moments where we see Chara laugh at times where they shouldn't:
-What? Oh, yeah, I remember. When we tried to make butterscotch pie for Dad, right? The recipe asked for cups of butter... But we accidentally put in buttercups instead. Yeah! Those flowers got him really sick. I felt so bad. We made Mom really upset. I should have laughed it off, like you did... (Asriel, Tape 3 of True Lab)
Their adoptive father suffers from a seemingly serious illness, and they can only laugh.
-You laugh, and keep laughing. It's SO funny, you can't stop. Tears run down your face. ... what? You didn't do that? (Laughing at Snowdrake's Mother)
Although this is not confirmed, it is very likely that Chara is the narrator of the game; and if so, they think it is okay to laugh at a fusion of various monsters who constantly suffer and cannot see their families.
-Do they both wish for death? That means their love will end in hell. I couldn't stop laughing. (Check RG 02 on the Genocide Route)
Taking into account that the theory discussed in the previous point and that this dialogue is exclusive to the Genocide Route, it is very likely that Chara thinks that it is funny that the love of two people ended in hell.
Chara is not a being of pure evil, but you have to admit that they are one of the most evil characters in the game.
I was stalking Pearson for the scout jacket request, and would reload my save to 10 am when it gets to noon. I reloaded and saw Sadie working at the table so I thought it wouldn’t spawn. So before reloading I went around antagonizing everyone (mostly Strauss). Low and behold when I was back at the table about to reload my save I see Pearson drinking his beer and whistling. So good news I got the request, bad news everyone is pissed at me. 🤷♀️
They wanted me to take an order 30 miles north and out of my area for $8, and then had the audacity to call me and ask if I would be willing to take the order for an extra $1 from DoorDash. I laughed, refused, and promptly hung up the phone. How do they see no problem with that? I would be spending my money to deliver that order.
