A list of puns related to "Shipping Forecast"
Initial burst of battleships, consistent for the season, followed by a heavy, persistent front of YOLO IJN DDs, early to mid week with a smattering of Weimar and Ochakov full agility cruiser builds to follow.
Shakedown 1 β 350 hp dmg with main batteryShakedown 2 β 30 torp hitsShakedown 3 β 7.5m hp potential dmg received.
Can't help but think there have to be better ways to progress campaigns without screwing up the week's game play.
Edit: Oops, didnt spot that shakedown 2 has an option for 50 CV torp hits and apologies
Fleet Supply Forecast
Supramax fleet grew the fastest over the past fifteen years with a CAGR of 8% over the period. Handysize fleet, on the other hand, grew at the slowest pace over the period, with a CAGR of just over 2% per annum. The fleet overall grew by just over 6% on average every year between 2005-2020. Global average growth rate for the dry bulk fleet is expected to fall below 2% per annum towards our 2025 forecast horizon. A rather small current orderbook, a difficulty to obtain construction berths for new ships and regulatory pressure will keep a lid on the overall fleet growth.
Fleet growth is likely to remain subdued for a few years

I can't imagine those at sea in 2021 are relying on the Radio 4 twice daily broadcast to keep themselves safe.
And now the Shipping Forecast, issued by the Met Office, on behalf of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, at 1700 hours today.

Due to a combination of driving very long distances and general insomnia, I'm awake frequently enough to both regularly catch, and usually enjoy the Shipping Forecast (including the Costal Stations and Inshore Waters).
Never really thought much about it beyond thinking that "Sailing Away" would probably be one of my desert island disks.

However, the other week I was in the car with someone as it came on, and after listening intently for 15 minutes, my passenger asked "why do you listen to that?"
At which point I started to describe the mental picture of the weather systems around the UK that I'd just assembled, and what that would likely mean for weather across the UK mainland over the next day or two...

I can't be the only person to have been tricked into learning basic meteorology against my will, all the while believing that they were merely enjoying an eccentric and mediative hold over to an older time...
Can I?
Iβve seen YouTube videos of people tuned into the Shipping Forecast from their houses, not at sea. Iβm wondering if thereβs anything else besides that. The YouTube algorithm suppressing my search.
Hey shipping forecast fans! My friend and I made an ambient/drone track on Spotify which features whispers of the shipping forecast, designed to listen to whilst in search of the dream state. Made from analogue synthesisers and samples of a recent forecast.
It's the last track of our first EP and we would love you to hear it, as not enough appreciate the art of the forecast and we think ambient music is the perfect pairing. Enjoy!!
