A list of puns related to "Shag Rug"
I have a 7x10ft eyelash shag area rug that really needs to be cleaned. I have a nice Bissel carpet shampooer but I have read you shouldnβt use those on shag rugs. The tag says it needs to be professionally cleaned. I got a quote from a local carpet cleaning company and it would cost almost as much as the rug cost, $140. (The rug was $200.) Thatβs not really in my budget right now so Iβm wondering if thereβs any other option.
Has anyone used a shampooer on a rug like this? Iβm mostly afraid it would get too wet and not dry properly, then there would be a mildew smell. The pile is pretty high.
Hi everyone,
I got a high pile (1.2") polypropylene shag rug (link) and would like to take care of it. My old Dirt Devil upright vacuum's motorized beater bar has been degrading the rug's fibers, so I'm looking for a vacuum upgrade. I've been lurking on this subreddit and browsing some blogs and youtube videos, but am still feeling overwhelmed by the amount of choice out there.
So, can you folks please give me some recommendations for a cannister vacuum that can handle this type of rug?
My budget is around $500. My home is around 700 sq. ft., mostly hardwood and laminate, but with this one large area rug. I expect to move to a bigger place in a few years, though, so I'm open to vacuums that can handle larger homes. I don't currently have any pets, but I'd like some in the future.
Besides vacuum recommendations, can you folks please explain how best to care for such a rug? I've seen some recommendations for vacuuming rugs with soft bristles, with the beater bar set high, or with just plain suction. I have also heard that plain suction is best for shag rugs, but how does suction get dirt out of the very bottom of the rug?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Hello,
I was looking into getting a Miele C1 for my apt (the one selling for $300 at bed bath and beyond), but then read here that I wouldn't be able to vacuum my area rug with it. Would you guys recommend getting the C1+ something else for the rug? a hand vacuum or something? or is there a better option?
Hey everyone. Iβve had my pup for almost a month now and Iβm having a little bit of an issue getting her to go #2 outside reliably. I take her on 15-20 minute walks every 1.5-2 hours including during the night. She has no problem going #1 almost immediately once we reach the garden. But for the rest of the walk sheβll just smell things, run back to me if she strays too far, and the rest of the usual stuff dogs do.
Hereβs the kicker: on several occasions when we get back in the house sheβll go poop almost immediately on the balcony or the rug. No warning or anything. She knows she messed up bc she sulks and does that sad dog face.
The rug is a fairly nice long haired shag rug so I can only imagine that looks like heaven to a puppy. To date Iβve let her roam the house freely when Iβm not home but thatβs gonna stop until I can trust her more.
Hereβs what Iβm thinking of doing. My balcony is fairly long and she has plenty of room to move around in. I want to get one of those grass pads on the balcony and fence off the corner of the room that leads to the balcony. That way she can still come in and see me but sheβll eat and have the grass pad outside. I donβt want her anywhere near the rug for the time being.
Upstairs she has a fairly large crate next to my bed. Iβm going to put a potty pad inside of the crate for her. This past day she pooped like 3 or 4 times within a 12 hour period which blows my mind bc I took her on several walks where she only peed. I also didnβt feed her that much this past 24 hours.
Here are my questions:
Thanks in advance! πΆ
Should I ask them about it or request a cleaning fee for it before they leave a review?
Iβm hearing I should request money asap by today as they just checked out. But I fear a negative review from that.
