Comfort Profile "other" randomly changing my setpoint and turning my AC on.

This has happened a few times now where suddenly the comfort profile apparently switches to "Other" and the setpoint goes down drastically (in this instance it went to 76 on its own). The system had been on hold but our normal thermostat setting right now is 80, which it doesn't hit until around 3pm.

https://imgur.com/a/6wfnZAC

Luckily the temperature that morning was under 76, so the AC didn't kick in, but just this afternoon, it happened again, turning the AC on despite the indoor temp still at 76.9. The system ran for 5 minutes before I manually turned it off.

I did not touch the thermostat at all this entire time, and in fact the system had been on Hold the entire time (I didn't touch the thermostat in the morning since I have no reason to).

Any idea what's causing this? Perhaps an outage, but I definitely DON'T want it to just go to an arbitrary low temperature when that happens.

Sonarr V3 Quality Definitions Doubling Setpoint

If I set the Max MB/min to 12.5, Sonarr is using 25 MB/min when searching, so instead of maxing out at 500MB for 40 mins, it is maxing out at 1GB for the same timespan.

I have tested by setting the max setpoint down to 6.25 MB/min, and it is now matching time ratios below/up to 12.5 MB/min.

Any ideas around what could be causing this, or should I submit a bug on GitHub?

I am currently running version 3.0.6.1196.

Nest Thermostat Randomly Ignoring Temperature Sensor Setpoint

So all of a sudden, starting this cooling season, my Nest Thermostat (3rd Gen) will ignore the selected set point of the temperature sensor and instead uses the set point at the thermostat. Switching back and forth between the thermostat and the temperature sensor doesn't change the set point. This is causing my upstairs to get too warm. Has anyone else experienced this or knows what's going on?

What I have tried so far: reset the thermostat to defaults, removed and repaired the sensor

Z-Wave JS / Honeywell T6 Pro - Setpoint displayed in Fahrenheit; Current temp displayed in Celsius

I recently moved from OpenZWave to Z-WaveJS (Specifically the Z-WaveJS2MQTT addon with the Z-WaveJS integration). Since the switch, my Honeywell T6 Pro has been displaying the current temp as Celsius and the set point as Fahrenheit. I'd like both to be Fahrenheit. It correctly displays both in Fahrenheit on the actual thermostat.

https://preview.redd.it/5gliywt5vo471.jpg?width=642&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c8f7bbc662288a78c4488d73700dbbc739cf1934

I've tried excluding and reincluding it, verified the unit system is set to 'Imperial' in HA, and checked that the temperature scale within the configuration settings on the thermostat is set to Fahrenheit.

Any suggestions?

Seimens PLC resets it's setpoint after some time

I'm working on a Gas Compressor (160kw motor) with 2 Seimens PLC ET 200S connected to ET 200SP distribution I/O,

Problem: The PLC resets randomly after running for few minutes, the setpoint of the PLC changes automatically to zero, we have to switch off the power supply and restart the PLC and insert the setpoint every time and then, the problem occurs again.

If anyone can find a solution to this, would be a great help.

Revert sound notifications to Windows default instead of Setpoint overlay

Hi there. I use Setpoint to change the behavior of my "Fn" key (it's set to multimedia by default, and I'm used to the opposite). Thing is I don't like Setpoint's overlay for the volume notifications.

I did find a solution after a bit of googling, but the page was dead and I had to use web.archive.org access to it.

It may disappear in the future and it did work for me, so I'm making a backup of the solution here. Hope this helps !

Ok, while I work on an app to make things easier (will take quiet some time, due to other work. But as soon as I got something working for this keyboard, I'll give it to you guys).

1- Open TaskManager and close SetPoint.exe and KHALMNPR.exe

2- Backup user.xm, just in case.

3- Edit user.xml fround at: (%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Logitech\SetPoint (copy and paste in the address bar of a folder, or paste in the Start Screen and hit Enter)

4- Go to down to the media keys you want to change so that it uses Windows 8 notifcation and control support, and not SetPoint, replace the code for each button as follows:

Previous Track Key:

<Button Number="786612" Name="Previous Track">
               <Param IconLoc="" Type=""/>

When should I give a new setpoint for a PID controller?

I have a single motor that I want to move from 0 degrees to 90 to 180 to 360 and then repeat. My PID works perfectly when given a setpoint. But now I am stuck at when should I ask the PID to go to the next setpoint.

I was thinking of making a code similar to:

if error < threshold
    setpoint = newSetpoint

But I think it will not be good for example when the current value is just about to reach the reference value but with high dynamics that it may overshoot it.

Another option was to wait until the error is no longer above certain value, similar to the settling time.

Are any of these options viable? If not, what else should I try?

I started believing in setpoint weight

Last year I've lost around 25 kg (115kg-> 89) I'm still around 15kg over my "ideal weight" but the thing I've noticed is that even when now I eat "like a pig", I almost never gain more than 1-2kgs before going back to the 89. Is it a real thing? I’m genuinely shocked I have not gained anything back, I fell like I’m eating even more than before I started losing weight, yet this is the result? Do any of you have any idea what could have caused it? (sorry for bad pictures but I don't usually take pictures of myself much)

FactoryTalk SE Button/Setpoint entry unclickable

For reasons, I find myself in a situation where we have buttons or setpoint entries that are not supposed to do anything when a password isn’t entered. However, there is no protection for this in the PLC. It was all done with overlays in ME that seemingly can’t be done in SE. This project was made in ME and converted to SE.

So technically they can press the button without a password because in SE you can press a button behind another object.

I need to make these objects unclickable (momentary pbs, numeric entry, string entry), but still show its there to be pressed.

  1. Does anyone know if a “button” can act momentary for temporarily setting tags in the PLC? Does the set function work that way?

  2. Can I overlay anything on these objects that will actually block their function?

It would be a ton of work to play with visibility and make duplicate “nothing buttons” to replace this function. Is there an easier way that people have worked with before?

Code 20: Retard Setpoint not Reached (Over-Advanced)

Hi all: I have a 2015 VW Golf Tsi Highline with 98,000 km. I ran a diagnostic and comes up with:

Code 20 Bank 1: Camshaft B (Exhaust) Retard Setpoint not Reached (Over-Advanced)

Spark plugs and full tine up done at 90,000 km.

Ever since I bought the car when the outside temperature is above around 24 deg C when stopped at a light the car chugs to the point where you can feel the car vibrating.

I have brought to the dealer many times but they can not figure it out.

The code above keeps coming back. Any advice on a repair for this code?

Looking for a comment about setpoints/“plateaus”

I was sure I saved it but I can’t find it.

It was a really encouraging comment about how what seems like a discouraging pause in weight loss can be seen as a really encouraging body set point reset that should be welcomed because it means your body is settling into a homeostasis/comfort level at a lower weight, and in the long term it will make weight maintenance easier even if it’s frustrating in the short term.

Anyway that’s much where I am now. I’ve been hovering right around but over 170 for a few weeks. Trying to focus on the positives of how far I’ve come and keep calm and keto on. I was saving that comment for a time exactly like this one, and now I can’t find it 🤣

In the mean time I’m working on creating some before and during images, and so much thanks to everyone in this community.

setpoint stuff number?

Heres an interesting question: You might have heard about the concept of setpoint weight, which the body automatically returns to, no matter how hard you try. The idea is that you might actively endeavour to loose some - but over time it will creep back up.

I have experienced a similar thing with the amount of clothes I own: I always had around 30 sweaters - and no matter how hard I tried to get rid of a substantial percentage of them, they kept coming back! Its like my psyche feels only satisfied with a ludicrous amount of sweaters, and dresses, and socks hanging about in my house.

Any thoughts?

Should I be using roll/pitch angle rate (deg/s) or roll/pitch angle (deg) for setpoints for my PID?

Hi there. I've been building a quadcopter for a while now and I'm up to the stage where I'm tuning the various gain parameters for the PID controller. I am trying to get it to hover in one spot before I start adding in direction controls, but when I try to fly, the drone ends up drifting slightly in one direction and doesn't correct. I have a Kalman filter on my controller and I've been using the calculated angle from that as the set point for the PID controller, however I've seen videos online (Joop Brokking) where the angle rate from the filter has been used instead.

Am I right in using the actual angle instead of the angle rate as input for my PID system where I just want it to hover in place?

Is there a way to use LQR for setpoint tracking?

I know that LQR can be used for stability.

But is there a way that it can be used for setpoint tracking for individual states? Assuming no input constraints as well ahha

for example if I wanted to minimise:

J = transpose(x - xSetpoint)*W *(x - xSetpoint) ? Where W is just a weightage matrix

Why is GPU clock lower than setpoint?

I'm overclocking a 5700 XT, have never overclocked a GPU before. I set the clock speed to 2150 MHz in radeon software, but am only getting ~1575 MHz reported by GPUZ and hwinfo. What's up with that? Is this caused by a power limit? I noticed when I increase power limit, the frequency increases. Even at +10%, its still at 1575 - 1600 MHz at 1.1V. Is that normal?

is the radeon software good for overclocking? it looks pretty slick, but im not sure if im missing out on some important controls. i looked at msi afterburner, and tbh it looks pretty clunky, less user friendly, and doesnt have as many controls as the radeon software.
