Is it just me, or does Scott Shriner look too cool to be in Weezer?
His role as a bassist aside, has anyone else thought Shriner appears really out of place compared to the rest of the band? He looks like your cool uncle. He only really seemed to fit aesthetically on the cover of the Red Album, when Rivers had that weird cowboy thing going on.

Scott shriner is pretty cool.
He may not be a great bassist in your opinion or whatever but he is trying and he's stuck with weezer the longest and I can understand from his perspective why he feels so annoyed with fans comparing him to Matt sharp as he is a great bassist and I made this post as an appreciation post.

Can I just say, because I haven't seen anyone really talk about it, how much of a highlight Scott was throughout the album? Some really solid bass, and great fills. I've long thought that Scott was a phenomenal bassist, but that Weezer barely bother to turn the mix up on the bass on their songs and it just gets drowned by everything else. However, on this album it was very clear. Fuck the Matt Sharp dickriders! (I love Matt, but people are way too quick to jump on his dick and trash Scott)

What kind of bass is Scott Shriner playing here?
During the release and the tour following of "Everything Will Be Alright in the End", Scott played a black bass with a completely silver neck. I've looked all over the internet but can't seem to find what brand of bass it is. If anyone could help me identify it, that'd be peachy :P

TIL that the final song on Weezer's Red Album Deluxe Edition isn't actually sung by Rivers Cuomo, but by their bassist, Scott Shriner. Cuomo told Shriner that if he wanted the song on the album so bad, he should sing it. So he did.
