A lot of people who knew Gary Ridgeway said he was somewhat strange and off putting but friendly. Ridgway was married 3 different times, first two failing due to adultery. Was accused of beating his second wife.

During his 2nd marriage he become obsessed with christianity. Ridgway would go door to door spreading the word of God.

Throughout all of his marriages he’d buy many Sex Workers. According to his ex - wives he had a concerning high sex drive. Even though he talked badly about the prostitutes in the area, he continued to buy sex. He had a love hate relationship with sex workers, which resulted in a long and prolific killing spree.

About his murders: The number of murders is unclear, it is believed to be maybe 71 or more. According to Ridgeway himself, he killed so many he had lost count.

Ridgeway’s method was getting the prostitutes to trust him, to feel comfortable. He’d even go as far as showing them photos of his son. Ridgway said: “ I would talk to her and her mind off of the, sex, anything she was nervous about. And think, you know, she thinks, ‘oh this guy cares,’ which i didn’t. I just want to get her in the vehicle and eventually kill her.”

Ridgeway would either kill in his truck, home or somewhere secluded where no one was around.

He would usually dump multiple bodies in the same spot, even pose the occasionally. Ridgeway would also return to the corpse to perform sexual acts, necrophilia. Ted Bundy suggested to police that the Green River Killer most likely returned to the corpse to have intercourse.

After 1983, murders seemed to stop. However in an interview, Ridgeway stated his third wife, Judith Mawson, made him want to commit less murders. They started dating in 1985 and married in 1988.

During his marriage with Mawson, he’d kill in the mornings before work or after work at night while telling his wife it was overtime.

Catching the Green River Killer:

In 1982 Ridgeway was arrested for prostitution, then became a suspect shortly after in 1983.

In 1984 Ridgeway did a polygraph test and passed proving his innocence for the time being.

Sharing a build today that has quickly become one of my favorites for anything up to Heroic.

I should warn you that if you're the type that is solely interested in efficiency and metas and whatnot, this probably won't interest you, and that is fine. But if you are the type of player who is always looking for stuff to try, then maybe this will be more up your alley.

The Build:

4p Eclipse Protocol (including Backpack). HZP on all pieces and either Blue Cores or Red depending on your preference

Build Breakdown

At this point, you're probably thinking "This is some weird shit". And you're not wrong, but let me explain how and why this works and the synergies between the moving parts.

Let's start with Eclipse Protocol. We all have played it with Burn Stickies and all manner of War Criminal builds. But what are the core gameplay elements of it? Status Effects and on kill spreading, right? So what if instead of killing with a skill you could kill with your gun and spread status around?

Then you look at the Gearset Bonuses and there's a sizable HZP Bonus there too. If you do some quick math, rolling HZP on all of your pieces puts you at 60% and if you add up the Gearset Bonus, that's 90% and if your watch is maxed, that's Full Immunity against all Status Effects.

Now, because this build doesn't have HZP rolled everywhere because it uses Ridgway's Pride, recouping that will require using either a mod or a Yahl piece. In this case, I go with the Yahl route, but curiously if you don't have a Yahl mask, using the Chill Out Seasonal Mask would get you to the bleed immunity threshold.

Finally, it's very important to use the Eclipse Protocol Backpack, because it has Symptom Aggravator, which amplifies damage dealt to Status Effects Afflicted enemies and since with Ridgeway's you will always be bleeding enemies in short range, this will be your sole damaging talent.

Playing it

This is a CQB Build. Going to the enemy's face with the Backfire and building it up is key. But you know what else is key? Using incapacitating stuff like burn, ensnare or blind, so carry a CC skill as a secondary tool for your build and once you kill someone, everyone will suffer.

what’s are y’all thoughts on lakes at ridgeway apartment complex ? i’m from out of town thinking about moving there

Say what you want about him, the case was fascinating and deserving of a multi-parter. It was one of The Boys original Heavy Hitters and so it got kind of a fast overview comparatively. But between 1) Ridgeway’s background with his insane mother that openly flaunted her sexuality in front of him while also being super abusive, 2) his weird level of success with women despite being being a dullard, 3) his really intelligent selection of targets and dump sites, 4) the police bungling the investigation for 30 years and almost catching him but letting him go while ruining the lives of multiple innocent men and 5) it recently coming to light that while he slowed down he was still murdering women up until he was caught, putting his numbers closer to 75, a detailed re-dux of the case would be really really enjoyable.

In a build using Deflector Shield and Ridgeway's Pride Exotic chest I know that bullets bounced back from the deflector shield can apply the bleed to enemies.

However, I have two related questions:

1. Is the Shock and Awe talent activated by the bleed from the Ridgeway's Pride?
2. Which talents can be activated by bounced bullets from the Deflector Shield? Trauma? Combined Arms? Others???

I'm looking for some good ideas for a Ridgeway's Pride chest Deflector Shield build.

I know these builds will never be "meta" and probably not viable for Legendary content, but they sure are fun for control points and other open world content.

So far, I've tried both 4pc True Patriot set and 4pc Eclipse Protocol set. Both were pretty decent but I think the True Patriot build was better for group play.

I've been running Survivalist with the Healing Seeker but I can definitely see that Gunner + Fixer Drone would probably be a better choice.

I haven't tried a Creeping Death backpack but that's definitely on my todo list. The only drawback is the 15 second cooldown on the talent. It might be viable if paired with Eclipse Protocol.

If you're running this kind of build, what are you running and why?

Title is self explanatory. I have secured all the 5 exotic components in the summit and I can't bring myself to do another 33 floors. Can I just go back to the lobby and matchmake with someone who is in the final checkpoint; will I be awarded the project knowing that I skip my floor progression through matchmaking.
