A list of puns related to "Ribbentrop"
So I am, unfortunately, still on tumblr. And Iβve seen a lot of anarchism/people who ID as communists but βanti tankieβ talking about how the Soviet Union worked w the nazis, citing the βMolotov-Ribbentrop pact.β Is there anyone here who can send some links to learn more?
Hi,
I'm playing Germany and am wondering if I should do Molotov Ribbentrop pact. I don't see the point of losing half of Poland. Is it because of resistance? Or is there something I'm missing?
Thanks for reading
A guy said to me today that this pact was a example of collaboration between fascists and communists and used it to justify horseshoe theory. Is this true and can u enlighten me on this topic?

It seems like a lot of recent discussions here have been focused on the "inevitability" of war between the U.S. and China (and Russia to a lesser extent). While I worry about that as a self-fulfilling prophecy, I think it's clear to Beijing, Moscow, and Washington that any extensive conflict among them would be borderline suicidal.
Another common strain on this site is that the U.S. is slowly retreating from the international system toward the 'Fortress America' isolationist mentality that was common zeitgeist prior to World War II. This strain is often coupled with a belief that because the American electorate has soured on the current world order, globalization and its resultant de-industrialization, and military free loaders in NATO and the Indo-Pacific, the U.S. will continue to retreat from an idealistic dogma of defending defending democracy and Western ideals, and move toward a hard-edged jingoist realpolitik.
We saw this with Trump and 'America First' and Joe Biden hasn't reversed it much with 'Make it in All of America.' When American national security officials speak of geopolitics, they espouse language that is deeply insular and isolationist. In February, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan was asked about the Biden foreign policy regime. His response? βRight now, the most profound national security challenge facing the United States is getting our own house in order, is domestic renewal,β https://www.usatoday.com/in-depth/news/politics/2021/02/25/joe-bidens-foreign-policy-america-first-twist/4345647001/
But if China wants Taiwan, Russia wants Ukraine, and the U.S. wants to revive "Fortress America" and address the geographic risks of climate change, why can't a Molotov-Ribbentrop arrangement be an option to avoiding Total War?
I don't mean to be provocative or tactless, but in a world where the U.S. is, shall we say, Trumpian nationalist, what is preventing the three powers from negotiating among themselves to step aside as each other aggrieve perceived historical wrongs.?
In this scenario, the U.S. could guarantee China they won't intervene in the military annexation of Taiwan, will recognize Hong Kong as an inviolable part of China, and maybe will look the other way as China takes a bite of Mongolia or the South China Sea. Russia will similarly be promised non-aggression as they seek to finalize the Union State wit
... keep reading on reddit β‘I was told in a conversation that the Soviets silenced criticism of the Nazis after the signing of the pact, as well as hosted Nazi art galleries. I'm finding it difficult to find proper sources on this, however.
When I asked for a source, they provided "American Communists and the Nazi-Soviet Pact" by Todd E. Smith, with the specific mention of the silencing of international communist criticism in "On August 23, 1939, Stalin entered into a non-aggression pact with Hitler, and subsequently summoned all communists of the world to halt their popular front activities and adopt once again the ineffectual goal of world conquest by social revolution".
I'm certainly not sure of this source, but I'm also not well informed on the specifics of the topic and hope somebody has information to share.
Does Himmler just force him to leave his position and live a miserable last years of his life, or does he get completely eliminated for betrayal?
i assume this is a bug because ; the whole Idea of the molotov rippentrop in game is that the germans do a focus to pacify the soviets for a time by giving them some free land (baltics + finland + Bessarabia) with this not being the case in a historical game the molotov rippentrop pact is a almost pointless thing for the soviets.
(what currently happens with the claims is that you can justify on them as a claim but there is no longer any event for land grab making the pact for the soviets have the claims on the stuff but not be able to actually... land grab so you need to war with romania/baltics/finland and theres no way to demand Bessarabia or karjarla or baltic submission)
[note: in my game the way i discovered this was my justifications in Baltics actually just going through and forcing me to war them]
i suspect this is just a rando bug due to the focus tree being re arranged, but plz fix, this in a really weird way nerfs playing historical soviets.
After the no step back update, i try to justify on Baltic States and Romania but no event fires.
The Germans still give me east Poland, but the events won't fire on the other three.
Has anything that i missed changed?
