A list of puns related to "Retinue"
I decided to build a small Ordo Hereticus army recently for a narrative campaign using Inquisitorial Storm Troopers, Psykers, and a Carnodon Medium Tank. As a result, I was just wondering how common it was for Inquisitors to personally own heavy vehicles like tanks or flyers in the fluff.
Thanks!

EDIT 1/19/22: Wow, the response to this was humbling. We've gotten so many applicants, and I've got some new folks to talk to! I'll try to get back to everyone over the next week, but as I'm on PST it'll likely be closer to the weekend (ideally not wanting to message anyone at 2am). If I don't get ahold of you by like, Sunday, feel free to drop a DM or comment here so we can talk shop! Thank you all for your interest, this was really amazing to see so quickly.
Inquisitor Silas Kirchhof has been around for at least a little while, primarily operating without acolytes or successors in mind. After his last mission left him with burn scars, mechanical prosthetics, and phantom pains throughout his mostly-mechanical arm, he's realized he can't do what he wants without help, at least not as effectively. Rumors exist that he's the kind of radical who seeks change, development, improvement, but nobody's been close enough to know if this is genuinely what he wants, or a lure to suss out heretics. Regardless, he seems to be choosing acolytes who don't have many places to go, and has plans to get back to work on a lead as soon as he's gotten a retinue together.
"Hypervigilance" is a Dark Heresy game where you will be playing an acolyte of the Ordo Hereticus under Inquisitor Silas Kirchhof, with a story focusing primarily on the upper echelons of the Imperium of Man, the intrigues of a dying empire, and the dangers that follow even slightly turning over stones in an ancient and entrenched power structure.
Themes:- Are you, a member of the Inquisition, capable of doing good? No matter how noble the intentions, is that possible?- The sisyphean task of trying to fix things in a system where the problems are a feature, not a bug, and whether or not it's worthwhile to try.- Human connection and companionship and the strange, ugly, beautiful forms it takes- When you search for evil within, what happens when you find it holding your reins ?
Notes:
β’ This game is 18+ mostly because we just don't want to have minors at the table. Any NSFW content will be strictly off-screen.
β’ Game will be played via Discord server.
β’ While we understand that life happens and IRL responsibilities etc. should take priority, we'd like to have a fairly consistent post frequency.

TL/DR at the end.
A player has requested that I use a hand drawn map out of nostalgia for table top games instead of VTT.
I wasnβt very happy with the swamp battle maps I was finding anyway. The generic swamp maps for the hex crawl leading up to the epic battle are fine, but for the final confrontation with a storied samurai and her retinue of four companions, I want something that is compellingly interesting.
#Back Story#
The Samurai Skoo-Owk has fought in faithful service to her Daimyo for many years. Recently she lost face but for some story reasons also feels she canβt just kill herself.
She retreated to a nearby swamp so no one sees her in disgrace. But only someone strong enough to defeat her can help her restore her honor.
The party goes to the swamp to find her in her hideaway. They battle her retinue for a few rounds till it becomes apparent that they will likely win without her intervention. She enters the fray hoping to lose but wanting to use every advantage to ensure they can help her save face.
What are the environmental hazards, hideout characteristics, and the swamp terrain features I should have on my map that she uses to trip the party up?
#TL/DR:#
Need swamp environmental hazards and terrain feature ideas for a combat against a skilled samurai hiding out in swamp.
Sorry im dumb and have to ask, but is it the plain items grimaldus' retinue carries that give the buffs or is it the retinue but grimaldus has them carry the stuff anyways? Im not trying to remove the items i just think i like it better if the items are just... Items. I just think it adds a nice little comic bit, like "uh hey boss you know the banner is really nothing, its me that gives the troops the 6+ fnp."
"Whats this? The 6+ what now? Your job is to carry the banner you carry the banner"
I absolutely love this theme i got going here where damn near everyone worth a damn is carrying something.
Im playing playing a campagain as a manden ruler in theyear after the fall of seljuk i began conquering lands and made an empire all with the help of my retinues i noticed that after a load game they are grey out saying maximun retinue cap reached and i checked it was almost fifty thousand and i was using zero (I had disbanded my retinues hoping to make a better one) so later on i try moving capital to see if it would fix or loading again and it doesnt show does anyone know how to fix this?
So to be blunt I've loved the Warhammer lore for a long time, I've never played the game in any capacity and probably still won't but I adore the hobby and the setting. I've gotten INCREDIBLY lucky and managed to get ahold of someone's 2820 point Necron Army which is to say I've just gotten my first ever Warhammer miniatures.
Now since I'm not planning to play any games I want to use to make a sort of 'display' story, I'm going to be likely kitbashing a Phaerakh and Phaeron. I already have a color scheme in mind with pearlescent white for the body/armor plates and a metallic for the inner metals (not sure which color, was thinking red but realized that's too close to the Maykr from Doom) and another color for the heads (probably a gold).
Anyways the display concept is that it's a vain dynasty lead by the Phaerakh and her 'Phaeron', she's the one in charge and uses him as a figurehead. The issue I'm having is what would their 'personal forces' look like? The army I'm getting has a LOT including some figures I genuinely don't really want and it's too large to include all the figures in my display piece. I do have some ideas including the use of the Indomitus Overlord and a Royal Warden as their body guards, a Skorpekh Lord and a Lokhust Heavy Destroyer as being 'in charge' of the 'destroyer' retinue that remains loyal, etc. I also have ambitions to get my hands on some crypteks to form a sort of 'council' (2 per 'leader') and some vehicles/bigger units to really make it clear that this is their 'force'. It comes with some Reanimators, Plasmacytes, cryptothralls, a spyder, and even a Doomstalker so giving them some tall standy bits is easy, I even want to make one of the Reanimators into a walking dias for them. There's also some doubles/excess that I can use for whatever. It's what they bring with them when going on a scenic stroll of other worlds or what they bring out for parades to make sure their nobility remain nice and humble without aspirations.
The issue is I don't have everything, I need at least a deployment of Immortals, Lychguard, Deathmarks, and I'd ideally like to have some Praetorians too to bulk out the 'bodyguards' squad.
What models should I focus on getting to ensure I have a well rounded 'bountiful' force?
Is there any special lore about Deathmarks or Lychguards or Praetorians that would make it impossible for them to serve like this? I know Destroyers have a virus that makes them insane and that the Necron don't ac
... keep reading on reddit β‘I'm wondering about the relative power that an Inquisitor has compared to their entire following of acolytes. There seems to be 3-4 main Inquisitorial agents in most named Inquisitors' retinues, and most of them have some sort of importance, such as being a psyker, a juiced up arcoflagellant, or a former ministorum priest. Inquisitors may be well equipped, powerful, and paranoid, but I would imagine that many could be overpowered by their retinue if they decided a coup was in order, either because the Inquisitor was a monodominant extremist and committed one too many genocides, or simply because the acolytes wanted a quick promotion.
On the other hand, knowing the Imperium it's entirely possible that acolytes have some sort of conditioning or brain computer that entirely prevents them from even considering going rogue. Are there any examples in lore of an Inquisitor being taken down by their own personal retinue? Or is it even possible?
Hi folks. Looking for some help with a home-brew idea for an Inquisitor and retinue. I've always loved the diversity with Inquisitor and thought I might try out some ideas.
