(I'm not sure if this is a regional restaurant but I assure you it exists.)
He should really be called Uncle.
Can't really take credit, my nieces made the joke while watching the movie. Regionally "Aunt" is pronounced as "ant"

I could try harder to be, but I guess I'm just not Inuit.
The pal region.
He doesnβt drink, it's just that he's really bad at crossword puzzles...

It will really shake Djibouti.
Itβs called acoustic Qatar.

There's a small part of me that really enjoys that

This is why we can't have Nice things
One of my coworkers is a transsexual. He (formerly she) was telling me about some of his struggles.
"I had to go up to the corporate level in order to be able to use the restroom. Some people here were uncomfortable with me using either the mens or women's room when they found out."
"So, what you're telling me is. You had to fight for your right to potty?"
At first he facepalmed and sighed, admittedly I was a little worried I might have offended him... But he did get a chuckle out of it.
I was told my jokes were cheesy, but I think they're pretty Gouda.
The ol' factory region.
This is not so much a request for a pun. I had heard that there was a town in the Scandinavian region that was known for their puns, and that this was recognized throughout the country. This was a part of a larger conversation about puns in general and the fact that they are typically frowned upon in english, while many other languages celebrate the pun, and are in fact more pun-prone due to the structure of the language.
However, I cannot remember where I heard this, I believe it was a podcast, but I cannot recall.
So, what cultures celebrate the pun, and do you know of any cities or towns known for their puns?
Thanks :)
I told her if she felt that bad, she should have laid down in bed all day.
Note: I have no idea if using "stood" for an irregular past tense of "stay" is a regional thing or what, but I've been hearing it my whole life. (I'm in Brooklyn.)
My grandfather called it the Called it the Civil Regional Air Patrol.
A friend of mine is giving away two tickets to the Regions Tradition in Birmingham, and posted a status on Facebook seeing if there were any takers. His phrasing:
"Who do I know that is a big golf fan?"
Well, I couldn't let this one go.
"I don't like big golf, but I'm a huge fan of mini golf".
At least one person in the status thought I was funny.
...and I was quizzing her before her social studies test. "What was the major language group spoken in our region?" "Siouan." "They must've been great lawyers." "What?" "They're Siouan that guy; they're Siouan this guy..." "groan" Mission accomplished! :D
My father had been in a phase where all he'd drink was wine from the Rhine region of Germany.
When the waiter at the Chinese restaurant asked what we wanted for drinks, my father, knowing that not all restaurants carry it, asked "Do you have Rhine?"
Waiter: Yes, of course
Dad: Ok, great, I'll have that!
Waiter (looking confused): Ahh, ok, you want red rine, or white rine?
Dad: uhh.. how about merlot?
He peered at the results, curious but clearly not very concerned. 25.8. Just in the overweight region.
He looked at me and said with a wry smile: "damn, I gotta grow".
Then again, I'm quite oblivious to his subtle jokes, but I think this one takes the cake:
So anyway, the other day he had me look something up for him on my laptop. Occasionally, my mouse pad lags and this was one of those times. I began to rub my finger to get it to work when my dad lays this one one me: "ΒΏTiene comezΓ³n o quΓ©?" Which is roughly translated to: "Is it(the laptop) itchy or what?"
Now, I'm sure if I was a dude and my dad was one of those dads, he would've said something along the lines of my laptop's mouse pad being equivalent to a woman's nether regions. But that might just be the way I think.
