A list of puns related to "Real Time Computer Graphics"
Grunts faces look like blocks. At first, I had to keep squinting at the screen. Kiwami 1 and Y0 weren't a problem, put my computer has decided it just can't handle kiwami 2 nearly as well.at this point, I can continue forward and play the game relatively normally, however I sort of just want better graphics without having to sacrifice framerate. Any ideas?
I have been hearing about the new types RTX graphics cards that can do ray tracing real time. I know how the light radiation works in real life and previously -unless you wanted a still ray traced image that took long time to calculate- you had to use computer trickery to render effects that simulate in moving 3D. Now with the new RTX-type graphics cards how close are we to how the real light works in real-time computer 3D space? Just how does it work?
Hey guys,
I'm interested in real-time graphics and more specificly the shaders involved. Recently I found this subreddit which, obviously, is about computer graphics too, but seems to almost exclusively contain content related to the (modelling of) offline renders, so not too interesting to me.
I was hoping someone here might know a another subreddit that corresponds better to my interests.
Posting in ELI5 because I really just want a short answer of the general principle behind it.
I understand raytracing works by sending a view-ray through every pixel in the image and calculating intersection, refraction, reflection, etc., and I also understands that it can take an immense amount of computation power and time.
So how are computers able produce 60 or even more FPS in applications like computer games? Does it still work pretty much the same way, just with a lot of simplifications, or is there a totally different technique being used?
An RTS from sometime in the 2000s kind of like Age of Empires where you advance through eras, except instead of spanning from early to late Middle Ages, it would go from the Middle Ages to the future (I think). The single player mode had a number of different campaigns, one of which was a "future history" of China. The first mission took place right after the first democratic election and you had to rescue the newly elected president. The final mission was set far in the future where interstellar travel was a thing.
