A list of puns related to "Radiator Hose"
Some nooby questions, bear with me.
I have a 98 RS integra, 250k miles on the body. Had a different b18b swapped in around 200k, unsure if they swapped the radiator, pretty sure i still have the stock rad
I just had a new dc sports header put on last week to go with the rest of the exhaust setup.
Noticed yesterday my upper coolant hose is swollen and thin feeling.
My questions:
Do i need to worry about replacing a stock radiator when using an after market header? My radiator is pretty old
Would it be better to just start with new upper and lower hoses, and maybe a new thermostat before messing with the radiator?
i already have an appointment scheduled to get my car in the shop. Should i chance driving it there with a swollen hose or just do it myself before hand to be safe?
Its been a money pit lately so im just trying to weigh my options. I appreciate any input
Edit: thanks everyone for the helpful advice. I was hesitant to post but everyone has been super helpful. I appreciate it
The hose is on an 02 4Runner. I recently did a job on it that requires me to remove the upper hose. While it was out, I left the clamps on the hose so I won't lose it. The job took longer than expected and I noticed the clamps squeezing the mid section so I took them off. Upon reinstalling it, I had a hell of time putting the hose on. During the struggle, I felt that I damaged the end of the hose that leads to the engine but I didn't do anything about it. I drove it around and saw no leaks. Then the next day, the truck was driven for a bit and I remembered that I needed to top it off because I believed there was more air in the system(I did my best to bleed it out but there was more air that didn't want to leave). Popped the hood and saw a small puddle under the hose that leads to the engine which confirmed my suspicion. I brought a new hose and while I was removing the old one, I felt the bend that leads to the engine. It was soft, I mean fresh bread soft. And it felt really thin. I'm asking out of curiosity, does a really soft radiator hose is a sign of potential failure?
Edit: just to note, I already replaced the hose by the time I post the question. I'm asking out of curiosity so I can pinpoint the symptoms of an aging hose so i don't have one burst on me or any of my family members. Plus the old hose kinda ballooned a bit.
Jeep JK 2007, 240k km, relatively good shape.
I was driving on back country mountain roads, noticed the engine start to overheat, I switched the cabin heater on to help it cool down. Smoke started spewing from the engine bay so I went to check. The radiator hose had popped off.
I clamped the hose back on and turned the engine back on. Drove for a bit, the hose stayed on but the engine overheated much quicker than before. The coolant reservoir is still well above the minimum mark, but I think there might be air in the radiator system.
Any suggestions for a trail side repair? I can flush the system and fix things up back home, but I need a quick fix to get back into town.
I recently picked up a 2006 Xterra with only 130 000km. Knowing about the SMOD I looked to see if it had the Radiator bypass done but to my surprise the entire hose that runs directly underneath the radiator is not even there meaning there's 2 exposed radiator nipples.
Is this ok to run like that? I'm pretty confused why the whole line would be missing.
I've got an 85 4runner with a 22re. I drained the coolant yesterday to work on the intake manifold. All of the coolant that came out of the radiator was clean and bright green. When I removed the upper radiator hose, it was full of nasty looking rusty coolant. Any ideas on why the coolant in the upper radiator hose would not be the same color as the rest? Thermostat not opening? Failed water pump? It is driven regularly and doesn't overheat.
Got a 96 LS, radiator hose blew on me while driving and I went to auto zone and replaced it there within like 15 min, all the liquid coming out was brown and it got everywhere. Fans stopped working afterwards and the car is sucking up water like crazy, any solutions?
Anyone have an idea why all of a sudden there is this weird coolant leaking.https://imgur.com/a/i0BWtFK/
Need to replace the radiator hoses in my '96 4WD KA24E. Was curious if the silicone hose kits for the 240SX (KA24E) will fit on my D21? Anyone tried this before?
Hello!
I installed a new radiator and intercooler today on the 2004 V6 SR5. However, I had a lot of difficulty figuring out which was supply and return lines for the transmission. I followed them under the car, but I found another thread that shows them backwards to what I have.
Can anyone tell me, for the 2004 V6 radiator transmission lines, which is which? Top and bottom hoses?
This is the thread I just found on it. http://www.toyota120.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21501
The way I followed it under the car put it as the bottom hose is supply and top hose is return.
