Boris Johson came to power, lost his majority live on TV, fired his hero's grandson, set the record of losing his first five votes in Parliament (breaking the previous record of four set by Boris Johnson earlier that same evening), lied to the Queen, broke the law. We're in month two.

We've been led to believe that the British Monarchy is a figurehead only and has no real power. In light of the fact that Boris Johnson has asked the Queen to suspend Parliament, removing democracy from the government, what is the actual power of the crown?

This is Fucked up: One of the political parties - most likely the Torys - has approached Buckingham palace in order to get the Queen to sign in the leader of the party with merely the MOST SEATS in Parliament after the election.

That is legitimise a party with the most seats, but not a majority.

Link to Sunday Times article which reports this: http://www.thesundaytimes.co.uk/sto/news/Politics/article1545963.ece

Relevent quote from Buckingham Palace implicating the Torys: "Cameron remains Prime Minister but he can't borrow the Queen for support".

Vice article in which it is discussed - to an extent: http://www.vice.com/en_uk/read/queen-palace-coup-miliband-snp-cameron-huitson-345

In the political climate, what 'realistically' would happen if the Queen was to dissolve Parliament?

I know that it is extremely unlikely, but I understand that it is still within her power perform such an act. Just curious as to what would go down. Elections? Would you country come to a complete stand still? ...Would France see their opportunity to invade? ;-)

Thanks
