The entire process of shadow transmutation can be broken down into these two sections. Solve, meaning to break down and separate, and coagula, meaning to put back together.
All things consist of the same basic parts, assembled in various different ways. In physics, these parts are neutrons, electrons, and protons. To a Sith, they are thoughts and emotions. Through the process of transmutation, you break down the parts and reassemble them as a new and more refined substance. We as Sith should practice this on a daily basis in order to produce pure, refined fuel for the fire of our passions.
In creating this fuel, we must first isolate the useful parts of us and bring them together. This can be done in a process of Purification (solve) and Coagulation (coagula).
Step One — Calcination:
Calcination refers to the process in which you heat raw material in the absence of air. This is to remove volatile (in this case, meaning detrimental) substances. What parts of your darkness hold you back? Which of these qualities serve as chains? This is the stage which we separate self-consciousness, doubt, crippling fear, apathy, etc. from our passions, hate, anger, etc.
Step Two — Dissolution:
It is time to continue the process of refining our shadow. Do you have a false sense of self? Are you overly prideful to the point that you cannot see your faults? Have you forged a character that you use to hide your mistakes? It is at this stage we dissolve our behaviors of avoidance like these. We start to develop a sense of maturity and self-acceptance due to this. You have to acknowledge your mistakes to learn and grow from them.
Step Three — Separation:
Here lies the toughest portion of the purification process in my experience. We oftentimes have baggage thrown at us in our life from others who have an opinion on how we live our lives. We’re told to “forgive and forget” and to “not be upset” about things. We regularly forget that emotions are meant to be felt. We have to feel our anger, our hurt, our anguish in order to fuel our passion. We have to break the chain of social expectation and be our own beings. Separate yourself from the crowd. Separate your true thoughts and feelings from the thoughts others have put in of your head.
Step Four — Conjunction:
This is when, after we finally have all of our parts identified and separated, we can begin putting ourselves back together. This is a time for introspection. Med

It has become too much of an emotional hassle for me to date. I get myself all worked up over one person, I think there's a lot of potential with them, we date a couple times, but then everything fizzles out.
If we have truly reached the point where dating and marriage has lost its authenticity and its excitement, then I would much rather just have sex to get it over with and move on. I still have a life to live.
Three months ago I made this post about Barrett Brown's new endeavor, The Pursuance Project. I had initially presented it as a potential alternative/replacement home for C_S_T, which caused some confusion, no doubt founded in part by my own lack of understanding of the project.
Barrett Brown recently hosted an AMA over at the Pit, as well as a 1:30:00 Youtube presentation with lead developer Steve Phillips describing the goals and technical details of the project. They will host a public demo on Nov 4 on Aaron Swartz Day, with the public alpha to follow soon after.
To briefly explain the system, the Pursuance Project (PP) is an end-to-end encrypted (E2EE) networking and task management system designed to allow civic activists and journalists the ability to collaborate securely on projects. PP will host an instance of the system on their own servers, which acts as an ecosystem of sorts, but the code is open source meaning anyone can host their own instance as well.
Within this ecosystem, any user can create their own Pursuance, which can be thought of as an organization structure. The owner can set his particular pursuance up any way he likes, from a tree-like hierarchy, to a completely flat structure, or anything in between. The owner then invites other users, and can give other members the ability to invite new users as well.
An example that Brown gives for a pursuance is a group devoted to prison reform. An owner might set invite a press liaison, some researchers, and some people to get the word out through social media. The researcher would find information that would be pertinent to journalists, and feed that information up to the press liaison, who would compile a package that could be delivered to journalists to help them write articles. The social media people would then spread awareness through different channels.
This is a very simple example, but the system can be used for almost anything. Specifically I could see it being very useful for citizen and crowd sourced journalism.
I don't see this as being quite as integrable with CST as I had thought in my initial post, but I do see it as something that some people here might find useful for one or more of their own
