A list of puns related to "Psychobiology"
It doesn't sound great.

Need help deciding what major to choose guys, I think I'll preface by saying what my intent is for my career and all that first.
So essentially, I've always wanted to do something just to help with the advancement of cure/treatment possibilities for neurodegenerative diseases such as dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinsons', etc. This is because my dad was diagnosed with it about a decade ago and it has heavily impacted my life since. In high school, I had wanted to major in Biomedical Engineering and hopefully specialize in nano/neuro engineering to see if something could be done there, but as the years went by it felt more and more likely that I would work in something different with a BME degree. Thus, I am now in community college (rejected UC offers bc of finances and home life at the time, etc) and will be transferring around this time next year. The pre reqs for the majors are about 90% the same, but here comes the dilemma. I really, REALLY want to make sure my career ends up working with neurological disorders, and I would love to be able to go to med school to do so but that doesn't necessarily HAVE to be the case. A lot of people I know have recommended against Neuroscience as a major even if i'm interested in neuro research and have a love for the field because the average gpa is 2.7 as opposed to psychobio''s 3.7 or something...I'm sure neuro prepares you for the MCAT equally as well but that is a drastic change in gpa, and I doubt I would have any remote shot of getting into med school w that. Another option I considered was doing biopsych with a neuro minor to avoid the 101? neuro series, but at the same time that very series and neuroanatomy look so interesting to me it kinda hurts not to take them. And lastly, I considered doing psychobio and then later doing grad in neuro, and then applying to med school.
I just feel really lost and don't know what to do or choose anymore, I thought that I had it decently figured out but now everything seems so vague and its kinda discouraging :/ I AM fine being a neuroscientist/doing neuro research as well but I would much prefer to do a medical path
Drop your psychobio holder div recs please. Idk what to take and I havenβt done any of them yet.
I am writing a novel that explores human morality and depravity in from the perspective of science: evolutionary psychology, behavioral genetics, anthropology, etc. I need to cover background material I think many readers may lack.
How can I do this in the most engrossing (or at least palatable) way, without boring, lecturing or intimidating? I need this to be accessible to lay readers who have interest.
What novels provide good examples of this sort of thing? Iβd prefer exemplars that relate.to psychology. But ones from other scientific disciplines would also help.
Do yβall recommend any easy electives I need to take at least one this summer so any recommendations would be nice :)
With Erin Clabough? I am interested in the class, but not sure how difficult it will be. It is a lab! If anyone has taken it, let me know how it was!
hey guys! so im a pre psychobiology major but i had a few questions
what are the most difficult psychobiology classes? how bad are psych 110 and 115?
are upper divs easier than lower divs? thanks :)
One of the prereqs for the psychobiology major is STATS 13 but the prereq for PSYCH 100A is STATS 10. Do I need to take both? Also, will I be dropped if I enroll in PSYCH 100A without completing STATS 10?
This might be dumb because everyone says psychobiology is an easy life science major, but Iβm nervous about the upper division classes for psychobiology. I thought that once I make it through physics and Psych 100B, I would finally get to enjoy the upper division classes. But recently I looked at the grade distributions and reviews for psychobiology upper division classes like Psych 110, Psych 115, and Psych 116, and they donβt look good. Iβm genuinely interested in the brain and psychology, but Iβm premed so I donβt want my GPA to take hits from the core upper division classes. Can an upperclassman or graduated psychobiology major tell me what those classes were like? What has your overall experience been like with the major? Is it doable to do well if youβre willing to put the work in? I just need someone to tell me I should stick with psychobiology and that itβll be ok haha
Do graduate schools care about the intensity of your major? Iβm Pre-psychobiology and Iβve heard that itβs widely considered an easy major for med school students. Iβm interested in the major but Iβm wondering whether majoring in Neuroscience instead would give me a better shot at getting into graduate programs.
The time has come to declare a major. I have the lower division pre-requisites for both majors with the exception of a few. Which major - Psychobiology or Biology - is better GPA , content, and application wise?
I am considering pre-med or some other pre-health profession, but still in the process of exploring other options. Thank you!
I need a 400-level class to graduate, but I am not sure if I choose the right class, right guy.
So whenever I'm on the Degree Works site it shows an option called Psychobiology after searching the site I only saw a webpage from 2005. So I was wondering if this was still an option
Hi pre-psychobio major, have any other freshmen pre-psychobio freshmen gotten their class schedule? if so what does it look like? just curious considering my orientation is in september.
Hey everyone! I was accepted to UCLA for neuroscience but Iβve read a couple of times that neuroscience tends to be heavily pre-med at ucla and Iβm more interested in a neuropsychology major which in UCLA terms Iβm guessing best translates to psychobiology? Any thoughts..
I got admitted as a Biology Major, however, after learning more about Psychobiology it seems to be a pretty cool major. I am a Pre-med student and would like to know the possible ups and downs of switching a major and the main differences between both majors. Thanks!
Iβm a psychology major in my community college after switching from a Biology Major but was wondering if I should go into pre-psychobiology before or after transferring to UCLA? Iβm about to finish my first year of college
I need a NS credit and they sound easyish.
Hello everyone!! I'm an incoming freshman at UCLA. I plan on majoring in psychobiology and double minoring in cognitive science and linguistics. I'm very interested in these subjects but I have no clue what careers/jobs I can apply to when I graduate if I major and double minor in that. Although I'm on the premed track, I still want to know my possible career options if I decide not to go to medical school. Does anyone know what careers/fields/industries/jobs are suited for people who are majoring in psychobiology and double minoring in cognitive science and linguistics?
Iβm pretty psych and nearing the end of my 3rd year. Am I too late?
is there anyone who has made the switch from chem/biochem/bio to psycho bio? how you would you compare the difficulty of upper division courses to like ochem or physics or any other classes? how are the upper division courses, like is it more memory based or theory based? do you have any tips for anyone going into psychobio? iβm getting nervous now that iβve just made the switch a few months ago but i havenβt taken any of the upper divisions and i have to take them in fall. mainly bc almost every psych prof has terrible ratings.
I know that psych majors have been permitted to take classes for major requirement pass/no pass due to COVID, but does this also apply to psychobiology majors?
Whatβs the difference and what are the pros and cons of each?
Hi everybody, Im trying to revive/create a new sub named r/Psychobiology. This sub is about the biology of the brain and mind. So if you're interested, join! You can always leave later. And if you're interested in the (human) brain, feel free to post and share knowledge.
Iβm trying to choose between these two majors. Any major differences?
What are the biggest differences/ benefits between these majors at UCLA? Thanks!
Which degree is better for medical school?
I enjoy both of these subject but since I have to pick a major soon in order to transfer Iβm not sure what to pick.
Has anyone ever taken psychobiology at a CC?
