There is something about this game that makes small moments seem like amazing feats. And I feel like I’ve had these same experiences in other games but something makes them different, special.

Most of these moments took place for me in the early game, still trying to understand how the game’s feature set worked

The standout moment for me was when I was grinding hyena in the first few hours of the game. I was pushing my character and probably should have fell back to re-coop but I wanted to kill one more Hyena. It was getting late I had no idea where I was and I didn’t want to sleep in fear of being raided so I followed my compass northwest trying to get back to Cziero. I come across a pack of four of hyenas, i had accidentally stumbled on their den. I immediately turn and ran, there was no way I could take on four, I couldn’t take on two. I was so focused on getting out of there I completely lost my bearings. I looked back and I aggro’d two of four hyenas, I keep running. Finally, I see what looks like Cziero, but quickly turned out to be a bandit camp. I saw one bandit pull a bow and I did a 180 again. Ran past the Hyenas and kept going. I turn around again and the bandits aggro’d on the hyenas. They were fighting each other! All at once I felt a sense of relief, accomplishment, I was laughing I felt so good to have managed to get out of there alive. I survived the night without issue and made my way to Cziero in the morning.

The thing is, I’ve done this countless times in other games. Making two enemy NPCs fight each other is a staple in most open-world games and yet, I never felt like that during those other experiences.

I’d love to read through any similar experiences, please share your holy shit moments!

I’m unsure of the Churches view on this. Should we be keeping the Sabbath from Friday to Saturday night? I’ve heard some mixed responses. If anyone has any resources that would be appreciated. God Bless.

If you are familiar with church culture, then you probably have heard of Christians calling other Christians “Pharisees”.

It’s a pejorative term used to describe Christians who are obsessed with outward appearances of holiness, righteousness, whatever and alert other Christians when they are failing to live up to their personal standards. Usually over trivial matters like music, movies, how you dressed. (But can involve other issues obviously).

For example when I was a kid if you listened to Korn, or other metal bands you were being a “bad” Christian.

I’ve seen my generation become more secular (I believe in separation between church and state, I’m just speaking of individual behavior). However the Pharisee phenomenon seems to have transformed as well.

I see the same Pharisee type behavior in the woke now that I remember as a kid growing up in the church.

What is this? Why are people caught up in this behavior? I used to think this behavior was only present in religious cooks with an inferiority complex.

Why are non-religious getting caught up in this “righteousness” signaling? Why are they criticizing people of their own political tribe so ferociously?

At least the rules of the religious people didn’t change. Now it seems every 6 months the woke come up with new rules and new greviences that the “oppressors” have committed.

Our fledgling Church is faced with its first major theological dilemma: which is holier - the Mask or the Vaccine?

The goal of this Council is to reach a consensus on this question. At the end of the voting period, the results shall be submitted to the Holy Moderators with a petition that the consensus of the faithful on this matter becomes binding on pain of heresy.

This is not merely an opinion poll. This is meant to be a theological debate with the goal of reaching the truth of the matter. Therefore, every believer who casts a vote is highly encouraged to provide the theological reasoning for their choice. This reasoning may be as brief or lengthy as necessary. Citations to the Holy Texts and Faucidian Decrees are highly encouraged. Believers are encouraged to engage one another in debate.

Hello, I hope everything on this sub is having a great day! My main question has to do with Jehovah Witness “bible studies.” I have done one with a very nice and polite Witness. However, it left me with more questions than answers. Particularly, with the structured curriculum in the publication that you use for studying. From Jw. Org it states that there is no pressure to join. Even my Bible Study Coordinators mentioned this.

However, as we moved further along there seemed to be more of a pressure/leaning to convert. Even the publication mentions baptism in three separate articles. So, my question, is it mandatory to become a Witness through the study or no?

My mantra for this session was "God's holy love".

When I breathed in, I breathed in God's holy love. It replenished my soul.

When I breathed out, I breathed out God's holy love and it touched everything in my presence.

Then in the space between breaths I realized God's holy love is all there is. Inward and outward breaths are still a form of duality in a nondualistic reality. It is all God's love swimming around us and we are it.

Then like a flash I was every holy aspect of God in one feeling of unlimited power. I am grace, mercy, acceptance, forgiveness, light, love, joy, peace, holiness, righteousness, abundance, compassion and so on eternally.

I am Christ, as are you all, one soul connecting all of us. Christ is you and I am Christ and I am you. He was one of us. He overcame.

"Love boundlessly and compassionately. Forgive completely."

"Forgive what?"

"That's right, there is nothing to forgive."

Men naturally are givers, not takers. This is true right down to our very anatomy, the male appendage extends outwards, and the female receives, absorbs and nurtures. Men are the seed and women are the soil. Men are the sword and women are the sheath.

This sacred relationship has been inverted in our modern societies. Today men prowl the streets in the dead of night seeking a woman’s body to capture, like an addict they claw for their drug, like the desperate drunkards that they are, they relinquish their manhood in the pursuit of temporary, fleeting, evaporating pleasure. True satisfaction always eludes him, true joy forever evades him. He is trapped in the snares of the viper of lust and it will not relinquish its grip, coiled around his neck, its fangs dug deep in the nape of his neck.

But now arises the new man, the serpent slayer approaches, the one who knows, he draws from the true source of his primordial power, disinterested in the pleasures of the flesh, his aim is set upon nobler pursuits and on the highest of ideals, grounded and firmly rooted in his eternal essence. He pursues the brutal discipline, the path wrought with obstacles, temptations, deviations, hardship, sorrow, pain and sacrifice. But once overcome, summiting the mountain he enters into that revered state of purity and holiness, he marvels at how his world changes before his very eyes and the influence that he is bestowed, he dwells in that place where death cannot enter. In the Bâvanurian faith, the word of The Goddess and her teachings are shared from Her heart through the mouths of her prophets. And there are many. Bâvanurian prophets are, well, essentially a hybrid between a saint and a prophet in a loose canonization system. Since there is no central authority for the faith, almost any community can make a prophet canon if they meet the right conditions:

1.They were a devout and pious person who upheld the ideals of the faith, were not tarnished by sin, and are an excellent role model.

2.They performed miracles through God and even after their death, those who have prayed to the would-be prophet had miracles happen to them.

3.They speak the word of god fluently.

It is worth noting, one does not have to be a member of the clergy to be a prophet and each of these requirements can be vague enough to be applied to a wide variety of things. It is for this reason that there are many prophets across the faith, from the obscure to the world renowned.

Many people can try to become prophets themselves, though it rarely succeeds.. Due to this nature of prophets, another aspect of them that was added in the past, was the practice of making prophets the “patrons” of specific things to “legitimize” them by getting people to know who they are and remember them. Many major cities in the past had Alhumra dedicated to their city’s patron prophet (usually a holy figure who defended or otherwise uplifted the city) and many beloved prophets who couldn’t fit that role were instead given patronage over something specific to their deeds and miracles.

One such example is for the prophet Bazya, a prophet who died over six centuries ago but was well known in the small (now Eckran) Mekar region for being a protector of servants and laborers who brought curses onto their bosses. About ten years ago, the office of the occupational health and safety administration in Kushal started getting comments on their official social media page calling them Bazya Boys. Upon further investigation, people learned of the obscure Prophet Bazya, the patron prophet prayed to for guidance and miracles in preventing sudden violent death at work. She gained a sudden surge of popularity across the Uroki corners of the internet (and beyond if ya want), where she gained meme status among anti work, social justice, and anarchist circles. “Get em Bazya” is a common meme to say

It could be an argument, a crime, an empty building, a necromancer laboratory, anything you'd find in Baldur's Gate CRPG or Three Musketeers.

10 Doctor's House - you'll find a hearse, and a desk and several chairs, maybe a qualification mounted on the wall.

11 Fire Engine Yard - wagon with cloud ladder, Dalmatian, uniforms helms and axes, and probably reclaimed firewood and building supplies.

12 Furriers - cages, traps, and pelts. Maybe some ammunition or pemmican.

13 Furniture Makers - carpentry and upholstery tools, milled lumber, dressed timber, and incomplete furnishings.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

The plans proposed, although good, take quite a bit of coordination, keeping the sign aligned, moving by sectors, it all takes too much effort. I propose we go from the very holy corner pixel itself and move outwards row by row. When the "others" try to change a square inside make it a priority to fix it before adding another pixel to the outer rim. When we hit the sign replace the sign when it's turn comes if possible. The Chrono Archaeologists were flitting through the timeline. They were cataloging and filing intrinsic data, as 5th dimensional beings with that sort of job do.

"I still don't understand, Designation 1a; you say these Humans from.. Dirt, was it? oh- Earth. Right. Big difference there. Anyway- you were saying they became the dominant apex predator on their world??"

"Indeed, Designation 22c. They became the dominant species, and in very short order attained sentience, technology, and spaceflight out into the Galaxy. See? Here, here and there."

22c was appalled at the short span of time that Humanity 'took over' the world. Their timeline was indeed compressed. Suspiciously so. To have developed writing, to space flight; in a mere 6000 or so of their years- part of that including a technological Dark Age- was... alarming. But, flitting forward in time, their growth outward and eventual demise were typical of other species that attained a Galactic presence. Something still bothered 22c though.

"But I mean- Look at them! When I compare them to Bears, Lions, Tigers-"

"oh, my!" 1a interrupted with a smile.

"eh? - and Sharks, and Rhinoceros, and Elephant, Megatherium, Heck, even the Moa.. When you look at those other apex predators and mega herbivores, the Humans stand out- they have.. well nothing to speak of when compared with those others. Nothing at all!"

1a smiled. "I knew you would come to this at some point- it was only a matter of 6th dimensional axiality. " It said, describing the concept a 5th dimensional being would call their own 'time'. The primitive Human family pack was living in a cave in northern Europe. There was a fire at the mouth of the cave, and several animal skins were drying on a rack by the opening. The Father of the unit was out hunting, and the Grandmother was foraging for nuts and berries. Only the Mother and the 2 children were at the Cave, when the Bear showed up, following its nose to the cooking meat, and the easy prey it smelled living there. It was a hard winter, the Bear was weak and starving, and was also looking for shelter from the cold. This group of Humans was doomed.

As the Bear entered the clearing, the Mother screeched in alarm. The screech echoed off of the distant valley cliffs, it was so loud. The Bear was not troubled as it loped in for the kill..

For James and the orc thing, nothing else existed at this moment in time.

Flames raged outside the simple walls of the camp, it burned trees and raiders with equal ferocity. Members of the raider group scrambled every which way, grabbing weapons and mounting the terrible heavy limbed beasts like the one James was currently struggling on top of. Some of them tried to grab water and smothering devices to put out the now spreading flames. Horns blared, and somewhere outside the walls a great battle was occurring. James would have heard yelling, screams of pain and rage, the clattering of weapons and armor, and great beastly roars of anger and death.

But right now, all he could hear, all he could see, was the blood pounding through his veins, and the rage and fear in the face of the bastard whose life he struggled to end with the heavy chain he'd wrapped around its throat.

For these two beings, locked in this particular struggle to the death, only the other participant existed.

James strained every muscle of his body, his legs straddling the back of the terrible monster that his opponent was riding, his arms pulling at the chain with every ounce of strength they had. The monster was actually helping the effort, the sudden additional rider had startled it, the fact that its wrist had just been cut deeply and that the blade was stuck in that wrist had hurt and scared it. As a result, it was thrashing about, forcing the choking rider to keep a hold of its reins with its left hand. The rider's right hand was up, barely keeping the chain from having full purchase on its neck, unable to engage James fully as a result.

They struggled like that for long seconds. James felt an impact on his right shoulder blade but ignored it. If he was hurt, he could deal with it later. Right now, he had to kill this creature by any means necessary. The Orc thing snarled at him, and James snarled right back. James lifted his left leg up and planted his knee on the rider's back, using it to add leverage and strength to the attempted choking.

As he did this, the ridden monster's back right leg came up, its odd three digited hand grasping for James's leg. Between his new position

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.

I said "hey look, an escaPEA"

No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!

A Scion of Many Worlds

The Axiom flows into him, slow and careful. Much like the additions he’s making to his own body. After Magrica freaked out he had to concede that it was a bad idea to rush his organs being regrown. It was still happening though, he was just taking it very slowly and carefully. He needs to be able to retain more energy than just the freaking Axiom. If there’s Null on the field he does not want to be reduced to a puppet with his strings cut.

That means fat cells funnily enough. Go figure that something seen as unappealing would actually be an important part of the human body. Or in this case an upgraded Urthani body. But he needs to store and retain excess calories. Otherwise any loss of Axiom will hurt if not kill him. Either that or develop so much muscle that it can burn itself to keep him moving. Or both. Both is good.

Fat cells, a more robust endoskeleton, more nerve development around and in his claws for better control, a more robust digestion and respiratory system. The sheer gaps that were in his biology were as fascinating as they were terrifying. It’s no wonder Cruel Space is named as such, Null would render him blind, deaf, immobile and quickly dead. He would have maybe five minutes if he didn’t have so much raw Axiom bullshit in his body.

Still, he’s been focusing. Improving his mind and memory. He could tell you the taste of textbooks he’s only seen in passing. The bits about human organs. The little diagrams in basic science texts? Accurate. Accurate enough that he’s already working on building more of... everything. But he’s already burned through most of the calories he’s taken in while they were still in the forest and pushing further now that he’s running on the local energy field just seems like a bad idea.

There’s an almost serene calm to the flying now. They’ve been at it for the entirety of the night and most of a day. He’s going to need more water soon. However he can make do with the Axiom. He doesn’t want to, but he can.

Just the thought of complaining brings backs memory of Drill Sergeants and he pushes it out of his mind. Although he does need to do something to fill the silence. It’s really starting to grate on him.

So going to the cg with my anaconda, and handing in resources for cash, I started paying attention to system chat. Someone causally makes an offhand remark about deploying landing gear right after a boost can really help with the big boats turn better.

Now, I've been playing since launch. I don't use a docking computer. I know about & use FA off maneuvers with a boost to change direction quick in battle. But this was something I'd never heard of. It absolutely made sense though and I was certainly flying the right ship, so I tested it. Holy shit, cmdrs. I don't imagine this will affect smaller ships much, but for those of us sailing space barges it's absolutely worth getting the hang of.

I still use it in conjunction with fa off, but I think even staying in FA it's good.

My test cases were simple, in case anyone is wondering. Despite my best efforts I don't always drop from SC facing the mailslot. When this happens, I boost towards the "zone" (imagine the slot emitting light straight outwards, and that's the zone). Once my ship is boosting towards the zone, I turn FA Off throttle down and angle my nose such that once I cross the zone, I'll be aligned properly. Normally I'd click FA on, throttle up and boost, but now, I do FA-On > Boost & throttle > landing gear down.

Upon getting back to the CG I sounded off in chat to thank this commander. They were no longer there, but a couple of people chimed in that they had also never heard of this, so I figured it was worth sharing.

Edit: there's no atmosphere in space? Wow, thank you all for informing me of this 🙏🏻 In a game where we bop around many times faster than the speed of light, and can survive our ships exploding in the deepest recesses of the milky way, instantly revived thousands of ly away... it's good to know that "my ship slows down when I engage the parking break" is what kills the believability for so many of you. I'm sure you all play FA off with no rotational correction for total accuracy, so please just let this post exist for those of us who actually enjoy the game?

Dear r/pettyrevenge, this is posted elsewhere, but I suppose I should share here. I understand it is long, but it exudes pettiness and passive aggressive retaliation.

TLDR: Karen Accused My "Heathens" of Waking Her Child; Now I Wake Him on Purpose!

My crib-midget has evolved into a min-human, and my mini-human is now in an adult male body which is, unfortunately, still outfitted with a teenage brain. Don't worry though, he knows everything! I myself have a late-30s model body, but my teenage brain is coming along well. That said, my loving wife is still able to maintain her sanity with 2.5 boys and .5 male adults in the house. However, the house was too small and we needed more leg room. We decided to move on up!

The new house is everything we wanted. There is ample room for the growing family. The boys would conquer the upstairs, and even have their own bathroom to grow "science experiments." They occasionally fail to brush their teeth but you can most certainly count on them to piss in/on everything except the toilet. Cake, my 11YO mini-human, shares my Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and keeps his room in working order. Kelly, my 15YO Man-Child genius? Well, just don't touch that sock under his bed. Typical boy-shit I suppose.

My wife and I now had a backyard. We had a two-car garage to store her Christmas and Halloween decorations. The neighborhood is gorgeous, and I can literally walk to the clubhouse and play a round of golf. The cul-de-sac we live on is dominated by currently serving or retired military families.
