A list of puns related to "Orwo"
I recently acquired 2 rolls of long-expired 35mm Orwo slide film, UT16 (expired in 1968) and UK17 (expired in 1991). I am aware that the proprietary Orwo chemicals are no longer around. Wondering if it makes sense to shoot these and then process them in E-6? Will an image even turn up on the slides? I'm all for experimenting with old films, but I'd like to know if there is any chance of an even remotely usable slide at the end, or should these rather just be kept as souvenirs of a time long gone. Thanks!
I've got a roll of ORWO Chrom UT21 from 1990. I have 0 knowledge of photography/film. The photos have sentimental value to my family. I'd like to pay to have them developed to share the photos as a surprise with my family for the holidays. Can someone kindly provide some background about this film and recommend a place that's capable of developing it? Here's what it looks like at the moment: https://i.postimg.cc/GrkMMZVn/2.jpg
Thank you!
So, I was telling all of my friends that I'm into cassettes, and they started to invite me to their parents' houses, so I could dig through their collections. This time I went slightly outside Belgrade, and my friend found two shoeboxes with bootlegs, some weird originals and TDKs with pirate copies. Among those I found this beauty. As it says, it's a cleaning cassette.

The other half of the story is that this summer I participated in an art-collaboration with guys, who took over ORWOhaus. Everything is connected.
I just finished a deep dive into the rumors of OrWo making a new colour film in the near future and decided to share my findings.
Filmotec GmbH (OrWo) and Inoviscoat GmbH (both companies related to pre-war Agfa) were aquired by Seal 1818 GmbH. The bank financing the aquisition gave out a press release which lists the abilities of the companies and the intent of the aquisition.
the major facts in this press release are:
It mentions production of film for motion picture and still photography
Filmotec and Inoviscoat inhabit a niche to supply small movie productions with film
The merging the companies under the Seal 1818 GmbH gives them the capability to offer colour and BW film to customers.
But if we have a closer look at the Seal 1818 GmbH (And Seal 1819 GmbH which has a purpose currently unknown to me but shares the adress of Filmotec/OrWo in Wolfen) we find out that it is part of Seal Group an investment and holding firm of Jake Seal. This Seal Group already owns five motion picture studios including OrWo Studios and Black Hangar Studios and just recently aquired Arri. This press release also states, that there are now 28 companies working on new cinefilm technology for the seal group.
That's all I could find out. They'll probably do mostly cinefilm but lets hope and see
Today I was gifted some ORWO photo paper with the code BH 116
After some research I found that it's probably a fiber based paper with hard contrast and of the silky type (at least it says silly in the box)
Does anyone know anything about this type of paper?
