I can see where vegans are coming from. Most meat in the world comes from animals who are kept in a cage all their life and are force fed to be fattened. And that's not alright by me. Im not vegan, in fact I love meat, but I only buy from organic, free range farms who treat their animals well, and are killed painlessly and safely. No hormone pumping. It may be a bit more expensive, but its totally worth it knowing the cow im eating has had a good life of grazing on fresh green grass. For any vegans on here right now, instead of cutting meat and animal products out of your life, maybe try spending your money at support local farms who look after their animals, knowing you are supporting a good cause!
Edit: okay yall I know most cattle are not kept in cages, I was taking more chickens and pigs etc. sorry for any confusion
Steve talked recently, and I'm sure has before, about how organic farming was originally based in astrology.
Does anyone know of a good book that discusses the history of organic in a skeptical manner? I'm assuming most books on the subject will be written by true believers, so might be hard to find something accurate without a recommendation.
