A list of puns related to "Nootropics"
i have no real experience so i can't contribute to the discussion, but i'm really interested
I have a substance abuse disorder so any RC benzos or anything similar to ambien are not an option for me. I already take melatonin but it doesnβt do the job on its own. I have been using Benadryl but my outpatient rehab center has been expressing concerns about the Benadryl every time I take a drug test saying it has abuse potential, which I think is ridiculous but I want to get them off my back. I really canβt find any options other than doxylamine and valerian. Any help would be appreciated.
I quit caffeine cold turkey 20 days ago and am pleasantly surprised to find that it has improved pretty much every aspect of my life.
Caffeine itself is seen as a nootropic because it produces benefits in the short term in the form of increased focus, energy, and improved mood. What I didnβt realize is just how short lived those benefits are. They are not worth the downside, the 16 or more hours per day of low grade withdrawal from the substance. During withdrawal you feel more irritability, tiredness, inability to focus, disrupted sleep, and subtle anxiety.
After I quit the first few days were terrible, but now it feels like my body works as it should. I am able to focus all day long, I am in a good mood all day long, I sleep better, socialize better (I feel comfortable in my own skin at all times), and even my libido is better. Most pleasantly surprising is my sense of peace and calm living in the present moment. On caffeine I was always asking myself, βok, what next?β I was unable to fully enjoy my life because of always asking this question. Now I feel satisfied and content during most moments of my life. What could be better than that?
I no longer feel the need to look for nootropics or other substances or compulsive behaviors to alleviate the symptoms of caffeine withdrawal. Everything is just fine now on its own. Very grateful to have given this a shot.
Highly recommend you quit for a week or two to see for yourself. And let me know how it goes!
What are nootropics that you can stop using but still have permanent positive effects from(I.e increased neuroplasticity, focus, anxiety relief)
Ashwagandha exhibits potent anxiolytic effects in the context of chronic stress and anxiety disorder. Fish oil has been noted to be comparable to pharmaceutical drugs (fluoxetine) in majorly depressed persons. Bacopa appears to improve memory, working memory, alertness and to reduce forgetting, anxiety, and depression.
Some of these substances have side effects. But, most of them are minor when compared to the side effects of most SSRIs, NRIs, stimulants, and anxiolytics.
I understand there are circumstances in which traditional psychiatric medications are needed. But I'm sure in many cases patients would benefit from taking some supplements or nootropics first.
I mean: instead of giving that depressed kid an SSRI that kills his libido, why not try a regimen of high-dose fish oil, coupled with therapy? If it doesn't work of course the psychiatrist might prescribe fluoxetine. But why not try this natural, low-risk, and effective supplement first?
Why not give the anxious man some ashwagandha instead of some dangerous anxiolytic? Why not give sabroxy to the kid with ADHD, before ritalin or atomoxetine?
What am I missing or understanding incorrectly?
I'm not a psychiatrist or a medical doctor, and I would love to read a psychiatrist's point of view about this.
I've built a nootropics recommendation engine based on SSC's 2016 nootropics survey data (though I've now gathered more data from r/Nootropics).
How it works: rate the nootropics youβve tried, and the app will match you to people with similar ratings, and tell you other nootropics they liked.
Iβd be very interested in any feedback you might have!

At the bottom you can see all the other parts of the series mentioned and linked, except part 2.
Thoughts?
As a side note, if anyone has scribd I believe it has a copy of the guide uploaded at the following link: https://www.scribd.com/document/393489511/Ultimate-Guide-to-Nootropics-Part-2-Racetams-the-Original-Nootropic-Family-Nootropics-Depot Would be awesome if someone could download it an reupload to an easier to access location. Was hoping to read it.
I've gone through and really scouted out all the vendors that are shutting down/removing racetams OR other related compounds and found that:
- Cymnootropics is shutting down (Rip Ceretropic Peptides Again)
- Science bio and botanybio is shutting down
- Nootropicsdepot is discontinuing the racetams, phenibut, adrafinil. (includes piracetam but not noopept)
This is likely due mainly to incoming regulations OR payment processors refusing to support the transactions for said compounds. Either way, it may be possible that we won't see any more of these beloved products on websites such as nootropicsdepot for much longer, if ever again. Call it fear mongering but the rate at which this all progressing, I think it is very likely that we won't see these products listed for much longer.
If anyone has any information regarding any sort of new legislation that would ban racetams or laws that would criminalize possession of racetam/phenibut/finils research chemicals, please comment below.
Definitely frustrated with the change of events recently with all of this happening but there's really not much we can do except advocate for freer and more relaxed regulations on these kind of things. I hope everyone takes care and is able to find the care they need if they are relying on things such as racetams for their mental health. Also, I really hope that one day a lot of this compounds that are likely to be de-listed will eventually make a return if not through places like nootropicsdepot then through other vendors who decide to pick up the torch.
Edit: Cymnootropics was the US-arm of the Mexican nootropic vendor Cuerpoymente. They provided Ceretropic peptides and former nootropicsdepot listings that were no longer listed such as Tianeptine and so on. The reason why I bring up Cymnootropics in the post above is that the company was directly tied to Nootropicsdepot in that they would test their compounds in the Nootropics Depot Lab. Additionally, it is mentioned by u/misteryouaresodumb that Cymnootropics is one of the few Latin American carriers of Ceretropic products. HOWEVER, as of 2 days ago cymnootropics announced that they would be shutting their doors and Cuerpoymente will no longer do business with American customers, nor ship to the USA. As a carrier of nootropicsdepot products and Ceretropic peptides, this could indicate something else going on behind the scenes in regards to US regulations.
The only place that sells SOME nootropics albeit all in powder is IndoleShope....And one more that doesn't deserve recognition. Why do we not have a nootropics depot like service here in Canada? Currently ND is the only place I use because shipping is literally 20 bux for DHL. Lift mode wants 95 for the same shipping outfit.
Is there a particular reason there are no true nootropic vendors based out of Canada? I know we have limits on much can be brought in for example phenibut (75 grams per 3 months). The one time o ordered more CBSC sent me a letter saying next time they would seize the order if I was getting that much. I can't see how this should effect shipping in Canada tho, as they cant look on your packages than.
Any other Canadians here that have any insight?
I wanna start taking Nootropics and I was wondering if even after I'm done taking them they have long lasting affects?
I have been an avid fan of war and military movies and have plenty of relatives who are in the army as well. While watching said movies I always find the soldiers being in a situation where they need to be constantly aware and alert of their surroundings (i.e. clearing a house etc) so I thought why don't they use any form of nootropic or maybe even a stimulant to remain alert and aroused.
Anyone have some nootropics or cognitive aids that they would recommend? or a stack of multiple they really like?
Pretty much something that makes activities and life itself more enjoyable like playing video games, watching tv, etc?
Hi guys, I know a lot of people on this subreddit are into exercise, healthy eating, and generally healthy lifestyles.
How do you exercise, how do you feel after exercise, how has the gym or sports changed your life for the better or for the worse?
Π‘an you please advise any training program for me? Just to keep myself healthy. I'm a 40-year-old man, not particularly athletic. Thanks
Might be a bad idea, might not.
My reasoning, often times the best comments with the most valuable studies or consistent anecdotes are found 5 comments down on a post about a different substance entirely
If there was a megathread for everything from caffeine to ginkgo to piracetam to magnesium, it would be the first thing that pops up when someone searches for it (or for the effects they're looking for).
That way good comments on the topic, with solid studies, etc could get voted to the top, people could continually add new anecdotal experiences... and they would all be in one place.
This might cut down on the daily, 'what are the best nootropics for focus/clarity' posts
Just a thought, this ginkgo has me focused and clear thinking again
edit to add.. perhaps one pinned megathread(post) with links to all the separate megathreads, as per the spacing issue on the front page, brought up by u/intensely_human, or links to the megathreads in the wiki, suggested by a couple other savvy redditors who presumably had their ginkgo this morning
I think it has to do with body temperature and/or insulin.
All the racetams and other synthetic nootropics are great but sadly they're becoming harder to attain due to pressure on vendors such as nootropicsdepot and science.bio. The latter is even shutting down. Nootropicsdepot is shifting to herbal nootropics.
This got me thinking, there is one potential herbal nootropic everyone overlooks! Coca tea is easily attainable in Latino supermarkets or lationo webshops, it's like a coffee to south americans. Everyone consumes it Peru and Bolivia and they say it helps with all kinds of issues like altitude sickness and constipation etc. It's also nowhere nearly as harmful or addictive as cocaine. It contains a lot of healthy nutrients.
I'm currently trying some coca tea powder right now but I don't know what to think of it. It certainly works as it is clearly stimulating. I feel way more energetic and not as depressed. Smooth energy without a crash. Effects linger arround 3 to 4 hours. Not as disgusting taste as kratom.
However it makes me feel weird and not very social. Makes me think of a low dose of methylphenidate with this emotional numbing effect. Almost like a sedative. My mouth and gums are also numb lol.
What do you guys think? Have you ever tried Coca tea?
After doing some research on a healthy and beneficial way to use SSRI, I found that fluoxetine in small doses was ideal, so I bought fluoxetine liquid version, and I use 3 drops a day, I'm on the third day and it's been very effective. positive for those who have a slight depression or anxiety, want a slight boost, it's great.
About the studies, they say that at small doses it had almost the same effect as using the usual dose, a small rate of difference, and it was found to increase BDNF in the brain.
Fluoxetine is known to increase dopamine too, so it's almost an atypical SSRI

I'm looking for energy, motivation, and focus. Not all at once really just any noticeable feeling in one of them would be great. I've tried 10 and only L-Theanine + Caffeine worked. This is what I tried and none of them have any noticeable effect at all.
N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine
Polygala tenuifolia
Phosphatidylserine
Eleuthero
Rhodiola Rosea
Magnesium Glynciate
Pycnogenol
Multivitamin
Ubiquional CoQ10
Guarana (worked because it's caffeine but felt worse than with L-Theanine)
I have Agmatine Sulfate but I haven't tried it yet
What would you guys say is the top 3 nootropics/supplements that work best?
As for me, I'd say phenylpiracetam is one.. But this is not limited to just racetams. What is your top 3 nootropics/supplements?
There are several different mechanisms to boost dopamine. Whether it's supplying the necessary vitamins (b6) to up the conversion of the protein building blocks (l-tyrosine) in the sequence to dopamine, reducing oxidative stress thereby increasing dopamine (ginkgo, etc), increasing cAMP and thereby increasing dopamine (forskolin) etc
Which nootropic/supplement has offered you the most reliable/consistent increase in dopamine?
A lot of the people I listen to who talk about nootropics also talk about all the other everyday stuff you can do that doesn't have anything to do with an intake of any supps. Such as cold showers, hot baths, sauna, early morning walks, sunshine, different eating schedules, meditation, breathing, sleeping routines and so on. I would love to know what the people of the most informed forum of all time do other than their supps.
Thanks.
Edit: wording
Are there any that for example would increase the number of neurons/synapses in a human adult?
So I have depression and anxiety and been struggling recentlyβ¦specifically with suicidal thoughts. Iβm currently taking Trintellix(SSRI) for my depression for 6 weeks which is making me 10x worse Iβm currently starting a taper off this drug..however Iβve purchased NAC and L-Theanine Iβm debating on getting L-Tyrosine also not tried them yet but going to start soon..Iβm also currently under investigation for ADHD waiting for an assessment with a team. Whatβs your advice. And if thereβs anything else worth taking please let me know..
Currently I am taking nothing besides the occasional Adderall pill. I have experimented with psychedelics before, however I believe my brain fog has occurred because of the many antidepressants I have been on and off of in the past(possibly mainly atomoxetine). The fog comes and goes but it has been getting much worse lately. I've been taking lion's main for a week and it hasn't helped.
Long story short, i have a form of ocd where i have to check things multiple times. Before i go to bed i have to check the locks multiple times to make sure they are locked, i have to check the stove multiple times to make sure its off, i have to check all the lights to make sure their off, check my car to make sure it's locked. I do this obsessively and its gotten progressively worse as I've aged. I dont recall doing this earlier in my life. I've never zeen a doctor about it or given medication for it but i know its not normal. Question is, is there a stack or a good nootropic that can help alleviate this behavior? Thank you all so much.
I keep hearing about the mood boost you can get from nicotine gum/vapes. Does anyone try it regularly? How does it make you feel?
For the past 6 months I have been enjoying Bacopa Synapsa with Lions Mane and Piracetam. A pretty good combo, I think. I certainly recall whatever I read far easier than I used to.
What are your favourites and what results have you seen?
this can include vitamins and minerals stacks, non vit and mins stacks and a blend of both. Been considering the mr happy stack (uridine choline fish oil plus a few other minor ones).
This just came across my mind, but this is the only Subreddit that I've ever came across (besides maybe r/Nootropics) that isn't toxic at all, no arguments, no mean people, no internet intellectuals, and at the same time everyone here is always kind, receptive, clear-headed, and open-minded. Considering this is reddit, that's damn near impossible. So clearly, the people of this subreddit are, to say, "getting high on Nootropic Depot's supply"π, I mean shoot, the suburb is leaps and bounds more peaceful than even r/Meditation
I've to study extremely hard for 2 months, and would like to do every single helpful thing to my cognitive abilities. What nootropics would you recommend for this?
I've seen that caffeine increases norepinephrine indirectly and that tyrosine may marginally increase it as well. Would there be anything a tad more potent for norepinephrine, without getting into the research chemical side of things?
Does anyone here use nootropics to help with cognitive functions, especially how Chiari affects that area? Iβm currently using NOW Alpha GPC in hope for better memory, but havenβt seen any changes yet. Might be early still. Or maybe weβre not supposed to use these brain enhancers? Iβve been trying to do more research if the two have a negative affect when combined, but have yet to find that information.
I'm getting so confused in this whole mushroom back and forth ( a clear example of why we need more studies). Anyways if you go on the nootropics forum, anytime you make a post on oriveda an automated response from a bot comes up that links you to a page where Oriveda is making false claims. What's going on here?
So I started with 2.5 mg memantine ed and titrated up to 10mg ed. And holy shit the sheer amount of motivation it gives me. The sheer amount of energy it gives me boiiiiiiii
I can literally wake up and start to work like a machine without loading time. Feels fresh as fuck also even after sleep deprivation. I am a kind of guy who is so lazy that I won't submit my assignments because it's in paper form and teacher wants me to convert them in pdf form and submit. But I actually wrote 6 assignments in 2 days as soon as memantine started showing its effects. But after stoping memantine, I became lazy and didn't care to submit assignments past deadline.
Enough about motivation, let's talk about other effects it gives me.
Literally kills depression and anxiety. Literally. Like an on off switch. I can't feel depression and get sad when memantine starts to take its effects. Bros and gyals I swear I can't literally cry or get an upsetting thought. Earlier I was very much depressed as fuck. Not anymore. Infact, I was crying all day just 20 days ago.
It gives me a clear idea of my life. It calms me enough to think in a dangerous situation. It energise me enough to keep me on my track and push forward. What else can I wish for? Memantine is everything I need. I do take tolerance breaks too. Infact, I use memantine only during special events such as before exams, i starts taking memantine and literally gets score higher than I have ever thought. God thank you for this wonderful gift.
And it's cheap as fuck too. 10mg 10 tabs for 20inr. 1USD is around 75-80 inr. For 1usd , you can get 40 pills. Fucking cheap. Generic shit tho. Don't care still. It's working great. And pharmacist is my friend so no prescription or other shit. I just call him to check availability and pays him and get my mem. Dude!!!!! What more can I ask for!!!! Feeling motivated as fuck and happy as fuck!!!!
I started 15 days ago and in 10 days I have exams. It's showing its effects now.
Update : it's been kinda a month, effects are still strong. Though I have learnt to control it.
Looking for some that work for physical energy and focus as well.
So far I have ALCAR and phenylpiracetam
buddy boyos, if you scroll down a little bit you'll see my post on 1/5/22 where I gave you the heads up that Pure Nootropics had stock... I wasn't kidding, on the evening of 1/5/22 they had capsules and powder, then on the morning of 1/6/22 they were sold out.
Another user commented that they got served with an FDA love letter. But I did a quick google search and it seems the last time they got a letter was way back in 2019, I didn't see any recent love letter for them...
...which leads me to believe panic buyers cleaned them out in about 12 hours...
I can only hope that some of the members in group were able to pick up some. I recall when I was placing my order the Pure Nootropics site had a message indicating "43 people are viewing this item"
The panic buying is no joke..
As of right now, off the top of my head, the only vendors that have stock are Nootropics Unlimited and Nootropics Source, but I've never bought from them and can't vouch for their quality.
My Noopept from Zach Attack also arrived....
I'll keep y'all posted if I come accross any other vendors.

So like the title says I've ordered caffeine/ L-thenanine from nootropics depot and the inside of the bottle is covered almost coated with a white powder is this normal? Please help 1st time ordering nootropics from anywhere
Hi everyone,
I've used some nootropics of that brand, which I always considered good until I found this:
That creeped me out and I advise to read to everyone who used/is using this brand of Nootropics.
The article is in Polish language, I didn't understand everything because I translated It with Google BUT for what I understand they do experiements on customers by adding unknown pro-hormones not reported on the label.
If someone from Poland can fully understand the article and tell us, I would be very grateful. It's about our health!
Also if anyone used that brand please tell your opinion.
Ded srs, check out the site... you're welcome....
EDIT - I'm serious, as of right now 1/5/22 their site indicates available stock for capsules and powder... If you read this 3 days later they might be out of stock.
Their Phenibut is just as good as Nootropics Depot's.
Edit - as of today 1/6/22 Pure Nootropics is out of stock again. I placed an order last night so I know they had stock last night.
The panic is real
I've been trying to figure this out. I'm not sure if it's just in my head but I feel like they would be way more worthwhile if I stopped getting high. But its a dilemma because when I go a few days without smoking I start having a pretty hard time getting to sleep. I want to try to stick it out and not kill the progress I've made with the nootropics by smoking again.
Over the years I definitely feel like my long term use of marijuana has hurt my memory and overall made me less sharp. With that said I've also never been one to get really high all day everyday like I just smoke a little after work usually or before workouts, taking walks when the weather is nice etc and before bed but I don't like to get super stoned all the time really. Usually I don't get very high anyways cuz I'm too anxious for that. But its been like that for many years now and I'm pretty sure has had some negative effects on my mind like I said.
Right now I'm just taking phosphatidylserine, CDP choline, Korean panax ginseng, and lions mane. Trying to keep it simple as I don't handle certain stimulants well, ever since I fucked myself up from abusing adderall for a while a few years back.
I've tried L-theanine/caffeine, Phenylpiracetam, ALCAR, L-tyrosine (all orally) and none of them have really had any noticeable effect on me & my ADHD.
L-theanine/caffeine had a small effect for a couple days, but that's it. ALCAR 500-1000 mg orally has no effect whatsoever. L-tyrosine 500mg has no effect whatsoever. PhenylP orally has no effect, even when I took it at 200mg, 300 mg, 400 mg, 500 mg, or even when I took it for over a week in a row. I tried ALCAR with PhenylP because I assumed it would help produce Acetylcholine for racetam consumption, but still 0 effect I could feel whatsoever.
I'm soon to start using prescription Adderall XR 10 mg in large part because nootropics are so ineffective by themselves (or entirely ineffective), but I want to see if there's anything that I can react to that works well with Addy.
I've heard recommendations I should try stuff like Selenium for better absorption, try Alpha GPC to help with racetams, try taking things sublingually, etc... what is the best, most affordable solution I can take to help get nootropics to work? Or am I just a non responder?
Anyone who has taken or is taking nootropics? Thoughts?
