A list of puns related to "Network Drive"
hi everyone, so I currently have a Nighthawk Router which has USB ports on it for network storage, however sometime in the past year, I updated the firmware on the router and I can access the drive, save stuff on it, but can't open files or edit them without first moving it onto my computer or phone then edit it and then put it back onto the network drive.
I've done a couple things n no luck. So my question is, what's a good solution for network storage. Nothing fancy very simple, don't need it to go outside of my home like a cloud or anything. In fact if there's some kind of adapter to connect my current HDD to a RJ45 and I can toss it on my switch, that would be cool too.
Any suggestions? I know to talk to much, if you need more details, let me know. Thx

Since The Archive fucked me over yet again and removed all my stuff, here is the original airing of The Christmas Tree again in a Google Drive link this time! Also if any of you have any original broadcasts of anything (FOX, FOX Kids, The WB, Toonami) please Chat Message or Direct Message me! Thanks everyone!!!!!!!
Hello everyone,
I'm looking for some help on a very odd issue I'm having with a new employee. My company uses NTFS permissions on a network drive to delegate which folders employees can read/write to. (i.e. The customer service department can only see/write to the customer service folder). However, with a new employee I applied all the same settings I normally do when onboarding but this employee can see every file and folder in the company. I double checked all of the employees settings and permissions for her AD against mine and they were exactly the same. I removed her from all of the security groups, ran gpupdate, and still no fix. Even tried completely removing her from the domain and re-adding but she is still able to see everything. Has anyone ever seen this or solved this before?
I have Window 10 server that I add as a remote network drive to my Shield. The Sever has a static IP.
Every few days, the drive disconnects and I have to re-add it manually.
Is this common? Is there a way to stop this happening?
Hello!
I have attached a 10TB HDD to my home server and I want it to appear and get handled in Windows 10 like it was attached locally from other computers in the network.
Right now I'm using sshfs (SSH File System) , the hard drive appears in This PC, like it is connected locally over SSH
https://github.com/billziss-gh/sshfs-win
However I'm facing issues like disconnections and I have to depend on third party software.
In the past I have also tried SAMBA and it was OK, not exactly what I wanted but I could do some basic job.
The reason is that I want it to behave like that is because I have 3 laptops and all 3 laptops use the same software, I could for example save some storage space if I have the installation files in only one storage.
Why YSK: With this setup, you don't have to dig out your external hard drive every time you want to use it.
This is common practice for businesses, although they would use a NAS as it works better for multiple users.
instructions and example
Edit: Reposted for clarity.
Edit: It can also act as a media server
With a DS218j running Disk Station 7.0.1-42218 and a PC running Windows 10, I am not able to map folder that is shared to a network drive location via Synology Assistant or using the Windows Map Network Drive interface.
I've ensured the directory has read/write permissions enabled for the user I'm using through either tool.
I had previously had multiple directories mapped from the NAS to Windows network drives, but those stopped responding and I have not been able to re-set up those locations. The NAS is accessible and pingable through the local IP on port 5000, but not by the server name.
Happy to provide more information and appreciative of any help I can find here.
Thanks!
We have an FTP location that we would like to automatically add to end-users PCs. I know its possible to map Network Drives using powershell but what about mapping network location? My google-fu is not finding anything regarding this.
Thanks for any insight!
Hey, I set up a local network drive on my desktop PC for use on my laptop and other devices. I got it work correctly on my surface tablet. For my laptop it won't let me write data to it but I can read files fine. When I save on my Laptop I get the error "you don't have permission to save in this location". When I changed the permission to full control in windows security on Authenticated Users I get the error "failed to enumerate objects in the container. Access is denied".
I have no idea what's causing it since it's a brand new laptop with a clean windows. Any one have any ideas how to fix this? Thanks.
Hi everyone. I have a collection of digitised media on my hard drive, which I want to watch on my Apple TV. However, I live in a place where I donβt have access to the router, and I am quite uncomfortable running a media server over the public network provided in the building.
Is there any way to watch movies on an Apple TV without setting up a media server on this public network?
Can a hard drive be connected directly to the Apple TV ?
Edit: is there an app like Kodi that could be installed to make this happen?
Hello neighbors - I'm here for a plea on behalf of the Astoria Mutual Aid Network Toy Drive. https://www.instagram.com/p/CV_cNy5vXkM/
Last year we were able to collect and distribute 500 toys to families in the area. We organize collection sites across Astoria and do distribution to families through the Astoria Food Pantry, our outreach programs at Queensbridge Houses and Astoria Houses, and more.
So far, we only have enough toys for ~100 kids. Please help us be there for our neighbors by purchasing an item off of the gift registry I've prepared here.
You can also drop off at any of the sites listed in this post on or before December 17. Gifts should be unwrapped, and no more than $30 each. The distribution is on December 18, so please shop soon so we're sure to receive your order in time!
And, of course, if you want to help out with volunteering to support the Toy Drive, more info on that is here!
Full disclosure, the register is shipping items to my home in Astoria. I'll transfer them over to the donation site in advance. I'm a regular/frequent volunteer with the Astoria Food Pantry/Astoria Mutual Aid Network and am happy to tell you more about myself if you have any concerns/questions!
I'm dropping all the info that AMAN has posted about this on their Instagram just for ease. If you have any Qs, please let me know or DM them directly on Instagram!

So a few people seem to have asked this question over the years and the answer is usually "it should work" but that isn't overly helpful lol
Does anyone have info or help on getting Cemu to see said mapped drives?
Cheers,
Will.
Good morning. Iβm trying to figure out the best way to get three of our office computers set up so that our files from certain folders are constantly updated on an external hard drive that any of the three computers can access. Basically to avoid having to email, usb, etc files from one to the other to improve office efficiency. I currently have it set up using google drive where each of our computers specific folders are constantly uploaded and updated so we can access them but would prefer if it was just strictly on our network and not using google. Any suggestions?

We have a several different data silos using several different technologies. Some of these allow for authentication some of them do not. What I'm in need of is a front end that will allow me to unify all these systems and provide an authentication using LDAP. I'm going to put these systems on their own VLAN to protect them as the backend and they'll have to go through a gateway. What I really need is something like a QNAP or Synology front end but using my own back end storage. Ideally it would be something that can support load balancing or at least failover so I don't put everything behind a single point of failure. Has anyone run into something like this?
I'd love to be able to keep all my roms on my network drive like I do with my other versions of RetroArch, but I can't seem to figure out a way to see them the Xbox. Has anyone figured this out?
I have a network shared drive on a Windows laptop that can be accessed only over the LAN and from my Android phone over VPN, but I can't access it from any computer running Windows over the VPN. I had to change some settings on the laptop's firewall to be able to access it from Android, but I still can't access it from any of the Windows computers, even if I turn off the firewall on both ends. What else could the problem be?
EDIT: It appears to be a DNS issue since I can access the folder with the IP address. I've tried editing the hosts file, which didn't work. I'll have to wait until Monday to try the other options.
Alternatively, if someone knows how to get Microsoft Access to accept an ip address instead of a pc hostname when accessing a database backend, that would also work.
SOLVED (sort of): I wasn't able to figure out how to fix the DNS issue, but I was able to do what I wanted by mapping the drive. However, using Microsoft Access this way is extremely slow.
Hello guys, I am totally new to Intune / Endpoint manager, so I would be grateful if someone could tell me how to
map a network drive that is in LAN
install multiple network printers (Konica Minolta BizHub 226) also in LAN
all of these for Win 10 notebook devices?
I need help mounting a windows samba network drive on my freebsd machine. I tried using the recommended "mount_smbfs //user@domain/mountpoint", but to no avail. I can ping the ip address and domain name of the computer that I want to mount on the freebsd machine, and I can also mount the windows samba drive on any other windows or Linux computer that I also have, just not the freebsd one. What am I doing wrong? the error message I receive is "mount_smbfs: unable to open connection: syserr = Connection reset by peer". Any help would be appreciated.
I have my WireGuard VPN server on a RaspberryPi on my home network along with a Synology NAS. How do I access my Synology NAS while connected to my WireGuard VPN server? I had thought that connecting to my VPN would effectively put my laptop on my local network, and thus, I could access my Synology NAS. But I couldnβt see it. I tested this by connecting my MacBook to my iPhone which was running only on a 5G cellular network, and then VPNβd in. My Synology NAS disappeared in Finder. Do I need to take extra steps? TIA.
Prior to upgrading to my DS 920+ to DSM 7 recently, I had zerotier installed and was always able to access my mapped shared folder via Windows 10 File Explorer, even when outside my home network (the whole reason I decided to install zerotier in the first place. I like being able to have a drive letter to my NAS even when not at my home network.)
However, after upgrading to DSM 7 and seemingly installing Zerotier perfectly well on Docker closely following their online instructions (https://docs.zerotier.com/devices/synology/) I cannot get the mapped network drive to work outside home network. I am by no means high level tech expert especially when it comes to command line. However, I confirm on Zerotier's website that the NAS is online in my ZT network. Presumably, this means I successfully installed ZT using Docker.
So I am wondering if anyone else came across this or if there might be some obvious troubleshooting to attempt that a capable but amateur home network-er like myself may not be aware of.
Again, I confirm that the NAS reads as online when I check my Zerotier network. But the mapped drive letter refuses to work outside home network. Error message when clicking on the drive letter outside home network "An error occured while reconnecting to Y: to \\'ip address\shared folder' Microsoft Windows Network: The local device name is already in use. This connection has not been restored."
To confirm, mapped drive letter works perfectly as expected when on home network.
Thanks in advance. have learned tons from this community since learning about and acquiring a NAS just months ago.
TerraMaster sent the article below. Was anyone else affected? I'm livid.
I've found some tutorials showing how to sync a google drive with unRAID, but I'm needing the opposite. Is there a way to sync a folder or a share on my unRAID with my google drive account? I can't add a network share to google drive from my PC.

"We are committed to protecting the data originally owned by individuals (enterprises) and building a decentralized data autonomous world, so as to realize the sharing of data value." - The first sentence of the JASMY white paper.

2020-?: Web3.0-Read+Write+Own
Yahoo's reporter wrote: "After the Metaverse became popular, Web 3.0 - is the new buzzword to take over the Internet world. Web 3.0, also known as the Decentralized Web, is the third version of the Internet. Improvements to the current Web 2.0 Internet."
In our opinion, Web 3.0 is the product of the technological and conceptual innovation of the times. The development of blockchain technology and the popularization of the concept of data ownership are the key fuse that triggers the Web revolution and the innovation of ideas, which guides the development and application of technology.
In fact, many Web3.0 network elements such as decentralized identity, distributed storage, cross-chain, and privacy computing essentially serve "data", making data a private asset that individuals dare not think about in the past.
Because only when data becomes a private asset, then data generate liquidity will be valuable. Achieving this requires solving two basic problems: data ownership and data identity.
Perhaps you have felt the same way. For example, the recent popular DAO airdrop is generally based on the data history of user wallet address interaction. The data includes gas fees, currency holdings, transfers, pledges, mining and many other dimensions. Individuals own these dataοΌ and everyone in the blockchain industry agrees. Just imagine, in the Web2.0 network framework, you cannot get airdrop income because the wallet address (personal identity ID) is only the account of a certain platform, your personal information data does not belong to
