Advice on Naval Ratings (Intel vs. Cryptology)?

Hey guys, I'm about to swear in at MEPS and choose my job this coming Monday for the Navy. I scored well on the ASVAB (93AFQT) and I qualify for most everything. I am aiming on getting into intelligence.

I've narrowed it down to CTR-Cryptologic Technician Collection, IS-Intelligence Specialist, and CTT-Crytologic Technician Technical.

I am open to other jobs, but if I get the option of choosing between my top three what would one recommend. I've researched these jobs a bunch, and I recognize the differences, but I wonder if anyone on reddit has any experience knowing these three ratings?

What factors in for me is:

  1. is the work enjoyable/exciting/rewarding
  2. which is better in order to find a job outside of the Navy

4th Jan 1879 - First casualty of the Zulu war, a naval rating from HMS Active, devoured by a crocodile. Story in comments.

In a despatch from Commander H. Fletcher Campbell, Commanding Naval Brigade to Commodore Sullivan dated January 9, 1879, (The incident happend on the 4th January) Campbell reports "I regret to have to report the death of Dan. Martin, A.B. of H.M.S. "Active," by drowning, this afternoon. He was employed with a party of men under Lieutenant Craigie on a raft, laying out an anchor in the Tugela, when the warping hawser slipped, and swept the deceased and several others into the river. Boats were at hand; but, although one passed quite close, it could not save him."

Two men who dove into the river to save Martin, J. James, Ordinary Seaman and R. Perrins, Leading Seaman both received the Royal Human Society Bronze Medal.

Couldn't Japan try to create a single 46 cm/45 Type 94 naval gun with much higher precision and fire rate for its new Yamato?

In my opinion, a modern day Yamato would have the most basic weaponery for modern day warships (CIW phalanx, anti ship missiles, AEGIS system, etc) along with a single main gun of 46 cm.

If they managed to mix the high precision and fire rate of modern day tech with a single 46cm gun, their new Yamato could sink many WW2 warships without using any anti ship missiles or torpedoes. I think his main role should be defending destroyers and carriers in case of the enemy fleet comes too close to them because their main guns cant do very much against the heavy armour of WW2 warships and they would only excel against them at large distance combact.

Heavy calibre naval guns were rated for around a few hundred shots with relatively few replacement barrels. How did the warships actually keep a functional gun barrel working with this apparently low allotted fire?

Most heavy guns seem to be rated at 100-500 shots, Littorio's 15-inch at 140 EFC, Iowa's 16-inch at 290 ESR, Nelson's 16-inch around 200 rounds. I understand these are not counting every shot, but the most wear intensive shots, some of the lighter shots being counted as 0.4 or even 0.03. But considering that shells loaded to kill enemy battleships would be rated at very high wear on barrels, how sustainable was Nelson-class HMS Rodney unleashing 378 16-inch rounds on Bismarck in a single fight while the Royal Navy only had 9 reserve guns? Wouldn't the RN run out of barrels pretty quickly since just one battleship would need all 9 to replace their worn out guns? The Italians seem to have ordered only 1 extra/reserve gun for each of the Littorios.

Am I misunderstanding the barrel life and how naval guns are maintained in general?
