I play Operations almost exclusively, but I play them rather a lot. For those who do not, this week the Operation WG has decided to gift us with is Narai, a Tier VII scenario and possibly my favorite of the bunch. Well, with most ships at least.

As cruisers go I have played it with New Orleans, Shchors, Yorck, Fiji, Surrey, and Myoko. And it's entirely fine with any of them - I do well and mostly survive. Except with Myoko. I have never, as far as I can remember, survived a round in the Myoko because I am immediately the target for everything. From the moment the starboard trio at the beginning shows up all the way to the arena brawl at the end - whenever I am spotted anything within gun range will target me. I have Priority Target on my Myoko captain, and can see that nearly the whole time the number of enemy ships spawned equals the number of enemy ships lusting for my blood. Doesn't matter whether I am leading the pack, keeping myself in the back, camping mostly occluded behind that little island before the narrows, low HP, full HP... both ships and forts will prioritize me with a zeal that honestly feels kinda personal. But only in the Moyoko (both normal and ARP variants). Does this happen to everyone? Am I the crappy chosen one? Is my sanity meter depleted?

So I have been playing Narai a few times, but just now realized that ALL the enemy ships are of western allies nationalities, not just random. Specifically, French, British, US ships.

And the goal of the scenario is to protect an INVASION FORCE and secure a shore landing. Is there a background story to this scenario?

Are ... are we the baddies?

I've noticed that the credit and FXP income from Narai missions has been cut by over 50%. I regularly use Fiji to farm FXP in Narai, fully kitted out with all the special flags and even the Spring Sky 200% XP / 777% FXP special camo. And today I've had a few games of >220,000 damage and I don't even clear 10,000 XP/FXP.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Finally back, gotta use my last day of 200% xp. So much fun on the cv side!

Grind out all your tier 8-10 flags, get Weimar, load all flags, 1 million credits ~20-25k freexp each game, pay for a new order, repeat until out of flags

Pretty much the question above. I currently have ~650,000 FXP in my account and I'm considering buying Nelson to farm FXP on Narai and the other operations. But I'm wondering if it is good investment?

I currently already have the tier 7 Scharnhorst which I could use on Narai (and enjoy). I do not have any of the other FXP ships. I have been playing WoWs casually for just over 2 years and this is pretty much all the FXP I have acquired so it will take me another year at this rate to reach that 1,000,000 FXP mark. Also worth noting I have not grinded any of the British lines, instead focusing on Russian DD, French CA and German BB lines so I don't have a decent captain to put on her. I've yet to decide which line I will go up after I finished the three current lines I am grinding, so no guarantee she would be valuable captain trainer either.

How's Op Narai for free xp farming these days, I got a few nifty flags and camo etc, picked up Atlanta for it and I've got Scharn.

Basically I need to go from Amagi to Yamato ASAP and Sinop to Kremlin. Before anyone chimes in about free xp and skipping ships etc this is for research bureau and I've done these lines several times.

This guide aims to maximize your xp and free xp from Narai.

Why do Narai?

Narai gives some of the most consistent xp and free xp in the game. With practice, you regularly receive 1,600+ base xp per game. By stacking on xp and free xp flags, you will receive 10,000+ xp and free xp per game, making Narai a very good method for leveling your tier 7 tech tree ships and amassing free xp. It's a good alternative to using your xp flags in randoms, ranked, or clan wars.

Operation Basics

Operation Map

Players spawn in the NW corner of the map and fight their way to the enclosed base in the SE corner. The main objectives are:

• Safeguard your transport ships
• Sink the enemy transport ships
• Sink aircraft carrier King
• Clear the base of enemy forces, or safely land troops from your transport ships

You and your team of 6 other players will need to complete all of these tasks to maximize your xp. At the same time, you need to do as much damage as possible.

General Strategies by Ship Class

Battleships

Your advantage is your high alpha damage. You want to sail ahead of the convoy of transports and position yourself to take advantage of enemy broadsides. Except for slowpokes like Colorado, battleships can sail to the 10 line to sink aircraft carrier King. However, your main priority is to maximize damage to enemy cruisers and battleships and clear the enemy base.

Cruisers

Your advantage is your high DPM. Prioritize using AP on broadside enemies and then HE on destroyers and everything else. Cruisers excel at completing the secondary objectives of sinking the enemy transport ships and aircraft carrier. However, since you'll be far from the healing of your convoy you'll need to ration your hp and avoid taking unnecessary damage.

Destroyers

Destroyers are weaker than cruisers but can still be very effective. Use AP on broadside enemy cruisers, torpedoes on battleships, and HE for everything else. Due to your low hp pool, avoid pitched battles with enemy cruisers unless you can kite, use island cover, or smoke. Use the healing that your convoy provides when you do get low. Gunboat DDs can help sink enemy transports, but your main damage contribution will come from clearing the enemy base.

It looks like couple of things lined up well for boosting your free XP as a F2P scum (like me ) with Operation Narai.

• Free 1 day premium at end of the Patch notes

• Defender of the Fatherland Day gives the 12x of 250% freeXP cammo. Check your combat missions. You might have better cammo, but this one's the best I can get so far.

• Top off with any Ouroboros and other flags. Also looks like Italian Token exchange has the PaPa flag as well, so that's probably a better use of the tokens than the meh tech tree BB EA.

You should be able to run 50k to 100k of Free XP in just a few hours.

This is a 5-star Narai in 0.9.3 PT. The base XP is only 40% of before.

After update 0.9.6 came along, I was also expecting Scenario Narai to pop up (after Killer Whale). But what I find is Aegis and the tab saying Operation Narai is unavailable.

Just what is wrong with that op now? And what are the devs planning to do with it this time?
