A list of puns related to "Multinucleate"
Iβm wondering for a spec evo world building project Iβm working on, would a larger than blue whale side be possible if the organism was colonial similar to a man o war? I know about the square cube law
TPR said it is uninucleate, but i found this thread. can someone confirm? Thank you

Hi guys,
after learning there are multinucleate cancer cells in humans, I found out there are also non harmfull multinucleate cells like the Osteoclast cells, which have up to 25 nuclei. Unfortunately I didn't find much to read about them so I hope you can answer some of my questions or at least point me to the right kind of literature to read about this.
So the most important questions I have are:
Thanks for your help in advance.
Edit: Thanks for all of your answers. They gave me a good staring point to read about multinucleate cells. Here are some interesting papers I found about the topic for those of you who are also interested:

Would it be asynchronous, or are they controlled simultaneously? What happens during cell growth? Is there just an increase in volume of the cytoplasm and organelles or is there also increase in number while maintaining surface area to volume ratio?
So, there are those Xenophyophore guys and some other organisms that are unicellular and can get to macroscopic sizes. Turns out they cheat by having lost of nuclei. Do those behave like cells inside a multicellular organism or what? Thanks in advance.
My wife and I have started our IVF journey a few weeks ago. We ended up with 28 eggs and it quickly started dropping to the point today. We received word we have one embryo, grade 2BC. We were told that reason for the excessive loss was multinucleation (i believe that is the term used). Has anyone dealt with this and also any success stories? Thank you all for your support!
[not a virologist here]
I read somewhere that coronaviruses are one of a few virus families that cause the infected cells to go through a process of cell fusion resulting in the formation of "multinucleated syncitia" and this seems to correlate with faster dissemination of the virus in the body and disease progression.
If the above is correct (and if not please correct me) I'd like to ask if there are approved drugs that specifically interfere with the process of formation of multinucleated syncitia, which could be used (and maybe already are) to slow down virus propagation and alleviate symptoms in more susceptible patients.
Thank you.
I had a very small sliver removed from my finger that was present for about two months before removal. After the doctor removed it via surgery, she told me that she sent it to the lab which I just kind of chuckled but guessing it's fairly standard. The splinter was encased in a pea sized lump of tissue.
I got the test results back via mychart today and was mildly alarmed by their findings. More importantly the word "rare".
"Soft tissue with focul acute and chronic inflammation and rare multinucleated giant cells. Foreign body, possibly wood splinter, gross examination.
It was a .4cm x .1 cm wood splinter.
Can someone who is familiar with this shine some light on what's rare about this? My follow up is the 27th but I would like to ease my mind a bit.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
I'm sure I got the formula right this time!
EDIT: I am omni. Your upvotes will aid me against Zalthor.
Do your worst!
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π

but then I remembered it was ground this morning.
Edit: Thank you guys for the awards, they're much nicer than the cardboard sleeve I've been using and reassures me that my jokes aren't stale
Edit 2: I have already been made aware that Men In Black 3 has told a version of this joke before. If the joke is not new to you, please enjoy any of the single origin puns in the comments
