Irc-galleriassa parasta oli kuinka mitätön se kynnys oli laittaa viestiä täysin tuntemattomille. Ihan kelle tahansa. Oli tajuttoman helppoa löytää uusia profiileja jotka eivät olleet niitä kavereiden kavereita, ja täysin normaalia kommentoida jollekulle et hei, onpa hieno kuva! Ja siitä sitten monesti alkoi viestien heittely puolelta toiselle. Ja kun sitä sitten jatkui tarpeeksi kauan saattoi kysyä et oisko hei meseä?
Mese se vasta parasta oli. Mitä vittua microsoft, mikä meni vikaan? Mese oli täysin ylivoimainen virtuaalinen olohuone! Tietokone oli aina auki, niin mesekin oli auki, ja sieltä näkyi keitä oli paikalla. Kynnys laittaa viestiä Diablossa törmättyihin pelikavereihin oli yhtä pieni kuin naapurin Jonnelle. Oli pelejä mitä pelata, piirtämismahdollisuus, ääniviestit ja ties mitä. Niin monta hyvää vuotta ja myöhään valvottuja öitä kun oli helppoa puhua milloin kenellekin, oli se sitten se harrastuskaveri samasta kaupungista, tai pelikaveri Atlantin toiselta puolelta.

So I've been trying to find this emoticon/wink from around 2003 that was downloadable to msn, It was a purple marble looking smiley face, It would have been one that moved and came in a variety of facial expressions, and movements. I remember coming across a post on Reddit a long time ago of a project where someone recreated the profile pictures of MSN in higher quality than original. Does anyone know where I could find them again? :)
I needed to share this with people who might actually care! So I was looking last night to see if anyone had made a messenger app or something in the style of MSN, because I miss those days so much. And I came across this website. Someone actually made a server to host old messenger clients, including all these different builds of MSN. I downloaded it and it's literally MSN, exactly as it was. Winks don't work anymore because Flash is no longer a thing, but you can do pretty much everything else. I spent all last night scouring websites for all my old custom emoticons. The nostalgia is sooooooooooooo freaking real.
Here's the link if you want to download it. I got version 7.5 after trying a bunch. It's the one that really hits all the nostalgia points for me. My friend and I spent all last night chatting on it like the good ol' days. Customizing our fonts. Changing our avi pics. Sending nudges. You have to make an account on their website, which is what you use to sign into the client. Then download the version you want. And voila! Msn!

Je manque MSN Messenger. C'était la première application en ligne que j'ai employé pour parler à mes amis, mes copains, mon crush, etc. Bon, j'ai utilisé quelques chat rooms, mais ce n'était pas vraiment la même chose.
Je devais me connecter en utilisant le téléphone, et ainsi, chaque minute était important pour attirer l'attention ; c'est pourquoi l'on utilisait les sobriquets voyants.
Aujourd'hui, nous avons beaucoup d'applications pour nous communiquer, mais les conversations sont toujours là, dans notre téléphone portable, comme une espèce de distraction.
