My husband sat on hold with the 1-800 customer service number for an hour and a half before a representative was available. With a few pictures, the model/serial number of my machine, a video of the motor lights flashing, and my mailing address, I have a new part being shipped to my house thanks to the Facebook messenger customer service team.
-and it took less than 20 minutes to resolve the issue.
Now might be the time to convince people to install Signal, and hope they are too lazy to uninstall when Facebook is back up.
Has anyone had success with this.

We got an email today from the shitty, stone faced IT manager (who im also convinced is a serial killer in his spare time) who is telling us that to deter cyberattacks they will require us to install Microsoft Authenticator on our personal phones to login to any cloud based services like MS Teams, Outlook etc come Monday. They gave us two days notice and these morons just make things more complicated time and time again in our company with things like: unscheduled, untimely windows updates that fuck our PC's up when they need to stay on, asking for pointless audits, discouraging people from asking for their help to fix hardware issues because apparently its not their problem its ours etc etc.
Im not saying other IT deparments are all like mine but why the hell do i need to install this BS on my personal phone that i paid for, when it just convolutes the process of signing into my work applications on the PC as i will now always require my mobile on me. I now need to quickly setup this app and provide my mobile number to be linked, but the reviews are mixed as well with some people saying they have gotten random sign in prompts to major issues when switching phones.
Does anyone elses company use this Microsoft Authenticator as i have been told that it does not apply any tracking or polcies on the phone as its just generating the 2FA password, but reading mixed reviews and differing opinions on it has left me not fully trusting it. Also i dont want to complain to the IT department or my manager as i dont want to sound like a consipracy nut concerned with them tracking or manipulating my device. However in my view if they want company related apps installed on personal mobiles, then they should instead be providing company phones as standard if this is such a security threat which i call complete BS on.
Am i being unreasonable or am i right in being skeptical of this forced company nonsense, especially considering the 2 day installation deadline which irks me the most?
Edit- Just to make it clearer, if i dont install this by Monday morning i wont be able to access my MS Teams, Email etc etc. So its that i either comply or get locked out of all the tools integral to my work.
In the 90s I had a cassette with Anthem of the Sun on one side and QMS Happy Trails on the other. Possibly my two favourite albums - Anthem of the Sun taking top spot. Was the most listened to tape in my Walkman. I think they go well together. Are there any other albums by other bands with a similar vibe to Anthem if the Sun worth checking out?

La plupart de mes tâches m'arrivent par mail (je les flags pour les transformer en tâche), et certaines via teams. Je peux avoir aussi quelques tâches qui arrivent en random.
Quand j'utilise Outlook client lourd :
- Je ne peux pas écrire de détail de tâches avec plusieurs processys sur le mail
- Je ne peux pas facilement les regrouper par dossier
- Le requêtage est un peu limité mais possible
- La recherche de tâche ne fonctionne pas
- Je ne peux pas voir les tâches teams
Quand j'utilise MS ToDo :
- Je ne peux pas voir les tâches issues de mails venant d'une BAL générique
- Je ne peux pas mettre les tâches issues de teams dans un dossier spécifique, ni même les voir dans la liste Ma journée
- Le requêtage est impossible
- La recherche est fastidieuse
- Bonus : Quand l'import de flag mail est activé, ça créer un doublon dans la liste de tâche outlook client lourd. Mais si je ne les importe pas, ToDo est isolé et je ne peux pas voir mes tâches sur mon smartphone
Quand j'utilise teams :
- Les tâches sont regroupées par origine, aucun regroupement sur l'ensemble de mes tâches. On ne peut voir que dans "affecté a moi" sur les tâches planner pour regrouper, mais on perd les fonctionnalités de planner
- Les tâches issues des mails perdent l'accès aux détails des mails
- La vue des tâches est sympa quand lié avec un planner, mais encore faut-il que toutes les tâches soient dans un teams, et encore une fois pas de vue sur l'ensemble des tâches pour avoir un bon kanban/chronologie. J'ai bien créé un Power Automate pour migrer mes flag mails vers une planification teams, mais pareil, je perds le lien avec les mails.
- Ce n'est peut-être que moi, mais je ne sais pas récupérer l'hyperlien d'un mail, je ne peux donc pas les ajouter à mes tâches quand ils manquent
Bref, comment faites-vous ? Car là je suis complètement dans le flou, l'inconsistance de MS sur ces 3 logiciels m'empêche d'avoir une méthodologie fluide qui s'adapte à la fois aux mails et aux tâches teams
I'm a Surface fan from the beginning, had a Surface Pro 2 and Pro 3, my wife had a Pro 4, Pro 7 and SGo2. Recommended the Surface line to friends and family because I was pleased with the devices and the service/ warrenty handling from Microsoft.
A month ago I needed a new Laptop for work so I bought a refurbished SB2. Sure, it's not the newest device. I would love to own a shiny new SLS or a SB3, but I don't had enough money at the time and I thought: I always wanted a SB2, it's refurbed and with warrenty from Microsoft, what can go wrong?
Well, as it turns out the Touchscreen didn't worked as aspected, many blind spots for touch and pen input. Good thing is that warranty goes till february 22, so I sent my SB2 in and got a "new" one back(it's an old, refurbed devices so I know that I don't get a new one, but thats totally fine). The device worked fine, so I installed all Updates (from Windows Updates, no extra binarys WSE). After that, Touchscreen went dead. Chatted with Microsoft support, they looked into my device remotly and found that this is a Hardware failure (Touch not shown in device Manager and not working in UEFI). So I sent it in a second time. Will get it back soon, my problem is that I need this device for work and warrenty only goes until february 22. Will the Touchscreen and pen Input stop working again after I Install all updates? I don't know yet but I must say that i'm very unpleased at this Point in time. Should I sell the Thing when I get it back to me? I need a device that is working and I don't want to live in fear that the Hardware goes dead again.
