A list of puns related to "Montego Bay"
Hi All,
My fiance and I (both fully vaccinated) plan on taking a 3-4 night trip in October to either Aruba or Montego Bay and I'm curious for feedback. Ideally, I plan on booking flights tonight via Southwest's 50% off promo and I'd be flying out of BWI (I live close to DCA & IAD as well, but BWI is a Southwest hub so there are more options there). My overall budget is ideally around $2,500 and it's worth noting I have 67,850 (~$850 USD in value) in Chase Saphire points which I plan on using towards the resort.
We are learning towards an all-inclusive for the general convenience for most meals and drinks included as we plan on laying pretty low and having drinks on/by the beach. We are interested in doing some activities outside of the resort such as meals or excursions, however, we do not plan on eating out that much. Some potential excursions which I would pay extra for include snorkeling, boat rides, tours, and maybe even fishing.
I have been to Aruba twice with my family and have stayed at the Marriott Surf Club and really enjoyed it. I have not been to Montego Bay and my fiance hasn't been to either. It seems to me that the AI's in Aruba are not too great for the cost and I've read a lot about the Riu's undergoing massive construction.
Some of the places I have been looking in Montego Bay include Palace Moon for around ~$360 a night for 2 people, Riu Reagge for around ~$275 a night, or Hilton Rose Hall for ~$285 a night.
The other main concern we have is the potential for hurricanes in late Sept-Oct in Jamacia - it seems that most places have really good cancelation policies right now and that shouldn't be an issue. I have also read quite a bit of posts saying that most resorts in Montego Bay have strict curfews going on right now which I'd hoping will be gone by my trip, whereas it seems Aruba is in a better spot and they have one of the highest vax rates in the area.
Overall, what are some recommendations/suggestions from the group and bonus if there are other ideas on how to get more use out of my Chase points aside from just booking the resort via their Ultimate Rewards site.
Or... if anyone has other suggestions of where to go flying out of BWI, that'd be great!
Hello everyone! My fiancΓ©e and I are supposed to be flying into Montego Bay on Tuesday. My travel agent mentioned the embassy and resort were sending out notices that there is potential of a tropical storm heading to the area. I know itβs supposed to rain all week but can anyone give me details on what is really happening on the island? Thank you!
Hi Everyone! I wanted to get your perspective on two females in their late 20s traveling to Montego Bay, Jamaica. A friend keeps telling us itβs not safe and to rethink going. Iβve read both good and bad things. So Iβd like to hear your experiences, especially women whoβve travelled with another female, small women groups, etc, and of course from anyone really, I appreciate your insight! For context we are two hispanic women of color, would be staying at a resort and possibly going on a couple tours, going in August, both fully vaccinated. Thanks again!
I guess this is more of a rant but my friend told me he has been arrested and put in jail with a $3000 fine for breaking the government COVID rules that have been put in place there. He was operating a bar outside of the curfew. He had just applied for the registration permit but had not gotten an approval yet. Not smart. I just canβt believe that just like...straight to jail until you pay the fine.
Montego Bay is the perfect getaway to enjoy expensive hotels and resorts, duty-free shipping and sunny beaches, and plenty of popular attractions that can be found here like Negril and Black River. United Airways has the cheapest flights that too round trips to Montego Bay, and even has flights rate go as low as $438 and Book Cheap Flights From Detroit to Montego Bay, book them right away and enjoy yourself on your vacation without a worry.
Iβm traveling from the USA to Jamaica with my best friend. We are staying there for a week. What do you recommend us doing? Seeing? Or things to know before coming??
