Just started a new newsletter, want to keep it anonymous so looking to grow it here, feedback welcome! https://journeymansjournal.substack.com/p/from-microblogging-to-blogging?r=rwr77&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&utm_source=
In off-page SEO, when I did social bookmarking and microblogging task, I noticed that the process of doing both is similar. In both we create title, description and hyperlink. I want to know what are the differences between them.
If you'd like to guess If it'll last as long as some other big ones (reddit, tik tok, twitter, youtube etc) be my guest
forgive the self promotion but i think this is really nifty and im having so much fun. i've been using and preaching about zim for about a year, it's transformed my note taking by doing nothing, getting out of the way and letting me write. so i turned it into a stack to make a cool blog site
https://kebles.com
100% static, no tracking or nothing, experimented with some anonymized stuff but decided against it for now.
take a look here and poke around and feel free to ask any questions. if this isn't allowed please remove but i love showing and seeing nifty projects. the source for pretty much every component is on there, i'll upload to github when i grow a brain.
basically the site is running from a docker LAMP stack serving up a zim wiki that contains the website. i have a hotkey to launch zim to edit the website, and another hotkey to compile and upload it to my server. the workflow is extremely effortless and i feel compelled to continue writing and exploring for this reason.
i credit a lot of this to zim, but also for what zim doesn't do and makes you do; think about the way you're organizing your ideas down to the finest detail while still remaining some level of consistent. it's a folder of text files. that's all you're lookin at. that makes it simultaneously do nothing and everything at once.
if zim were to go away, nothing would fundamentally change. i can do everything exactly the same way in a text editor.
if there is interest i may invest some time in a selfhostable docker stack that runs this. i have a lot of polishing and un-jankifying to do in the meantime if i go that route.
it also gives me thoughts of plugins to write, or even using zim as a base for something even grander. but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. let me know what you think! forgive my insufferable personality! how do you think i feel!
