Gw baru aja di-dropout dari Kampus gw.
Gw ambil jurusan Teknik Komputer karena gw sangat tertarik dengan dunia perkomputeran sedari SMA. FYI, gw ini masuk ke angkatan 2020 AKA masuk ketika pandemi udah ganas. Ternyata selama 3 semester belajar Online dan gak pernah ketemu dosen, teman seangkatan, dan dateng ke kampusnya langsung, gw pun kolaps dan gagal melanjutkan kuliah.
Tapi di hati gw, masih pengen banget buat belajar komputer. Gw masih ngerasa kalau gw masih punya potensi di dunia IT. Gw udah diskusi dengan ortu gw dan mereka pun percaya kalau bidang gw ada di komputer. Sayangnya ortu gw gak yakin buat ngebiayain gw untuk lanjut kuliah lagi, tentu gw paham dengan kebimbangan mereka.
Solusinya, akhirnya gw tertarik dengan yang namanya coding bootcamp. Buat yang gak tahu, itu tempat dimana kita ditempa buat belajar programming selama hanya 5-6 bulan dan setelah itu langsung bisa kerja. Itu bagi gw suatu hal yang menarik sekali. Namun, bayaran hampir sama dengan bayaran kuliah yaitu kisaran 30-40 jutaan. Tapi ada beberapa bootcamp yang mau menawarkan sebuah skema pembayaran dimana gw bisa membayar setalah gw dapet pekerjaan. Kira2 bisa dibilang gaji gw akan dipotong sekian persen untuk mencicil biaya pendidikan nantinya.
Gw sempat jadi semangat buat daftar, tetapi gw sebelumnya iseng dulu nanya2 ke quora mengenai pengalaman selama di Bootcamp itu bagaimana.
Dan WOW, almost every answer is negative. Mulai peserta sampai HRD pun bilang kalau ini gak worth it. Mulai dari katanya iklannya menipu sampai katanya CV-nya itu membosankan atau bagaimana. Banyak yang bilang juga biasanya lulusannya sangat tidak kompeten di bidangnya.
Tentu gw jadi bimbang dan bingung. Tapi yang paling gw terkejut itu adalah ketika hampir sebagian besar orang mengatakan hal sama; Mending belajar sendiri.
Banyak yang ngejelasin dimana aja bisa belajar coding sampai cara dapet kerjaannya gimana tanpa gelas sarjana dan belajar mandiri. Dijelasin website2 mana aja yang ngasih pelajaran gratis atau berbayar. Banyak juga yang ngasih silabus mulai dari titik 0 sampai buat portofolio untuk diri sendiri. Semuanya itu ada dan gw tinggal klik aja. Gw terkisima ngeliat kalau banyak banget programmer yang self-taught tanpa sarjana dan pelatihan apa pun tapu berhasil dapat pekerjaan yang diidamkan.

Cuma iseng aja setelah masa pandemi ini banyak saudara gw yg nggak merasakan masa-masa sma padahal itu hari hari terindah gw jadi gw agak kasian terus bikin poll ini, Jika Kalian di berikan kesempatan untuk mengulang masa SMA/SMK apakah kalian akan mengambil kesempatan itu?
I recently got a Vitamix to grind whole grains, and partly because only the Vitamix promises to grind both dry grains and wet grains/nuts (eg nut butters).
I tried to grind nixtamalized corn kernels and... It was a learning experience. The motor choked out and threw up an E31 code, let off a little puff of smoke and odor. I let it rest for a bit and when I reran, I was careful not to let it run if the motor got stuck. Ultimately, I had to add a lot of water which I then had to dry out using off the shelf masa harina (dried powdered Nixtamalized corn flour), to make the ultimate product dry enough to form a dough. There's also a tradeoff between moisture and grind fineness - the finer you want it seemed the more water is needed, but then you need to add more masa harina. That said, I think a super fine grind helps the tortilla puff when cooked, but doesn't alter the texture in your mouth much - I could feel a bit of grit in the batter but not in the cooked tortillas.
What can I do to achieve an as close to pure, finely ground masa? Can you leave out wet masa for a bit to let some of the moisture evaporate naturally?
Vitamix recommends the top speed for grinding, but I found the motor more prone to getting stuck at speed 7+. I also wonder about cooking the kernels more thoroughly beforehand so that they're easier to grind. Any tips to make a purer, finer tortilla welcome.
Using a Legacy A2300, with yellow olotillo corn from Masienda. I used a dry grains container.
Edit: here's the response I got from Vitamix HQ, who consulted one of their experts:
" When making a masa dough it is very difficult in our blenders. The dry grains container is probably one of the worst containers to use for masa as it has such a small base. Using a 64 low profile container is the best option when using the blender. Also the technique would be to pulse the ingredients on high speed until the dough has formed. A masa dough is very thick so using a smaller amount around 3 cups would be optimal to pull this together. If you try to do a large batch the dough will not flow through to the blades and get chopped up. Dari sini, mulai banyak penulis fiksi (baik pemula maupun profesional) yang mengirim naskah mereka ke Gramedia untuk diterbitkan dan dijual di toko buku.
Pada 2005, Raditya Dika, melalui Gagas Media, merilis buku pertamanya berjudul Kambing Jantan, yang diambil dari blognya. Bukunya dengan segera menjadi instant hit. Radit bisa dibilang merupakan "ikon" yang menunjukkan bahwa "orang biasa" pun juga bisa menerbitkan buku, di mana sebelumnya, hanya "orang terpilih"-lah yang bukunya bisa diterbitkan.
