I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.

This is the domain of lawyers, not academics. They suck at it, and I'm going to tear their arguments to shreds point-by-point. The truth is that we have 0 evidence of natural origin at this point despite massive efforts by the CCP to identify and trace one like they did with SARS. Bear in mind that with SARS, the outbreak happened in March 2003, and by May 2003, SARS was traced back to civets and had its evolutionary steps traced back to the jumping point. Nothing like this has been found with COVID. According to all available evidence, COVID hit the ground running, already fully adapted to humans in late 2019 in Wuhan, in close proximity to the WIV - a lab which evidence shows was experimenting on SARS family coronaviruses to adapt them to humans in what is called "gain of function" research. EXTENSIVE testing of myriad animal species in China has been done to find any possible zoonotic origin, and none have been found. At this point the testing has been so extensive that zoonotic origin can be ruled out.

This is not a logical/rational argument. It's an assumption, a speculation. Just because most viruses in history have had natural origins, doesn't mean COVID is. Until very recently in history, humanity never had labs that COULD leak viruses. As soon as they did, labs DID leak viruses. This paper talks about the many times viruses have leaked from labs. The USSR caused a worldwide flu pandemic in 1977 thanks to a leak. The paper explains that SARS has leaked from labs at least six times since 2003. China is notorious for its lax safety standards and "Cha bu duo" attitude of not giving a shit about attention to detail. It was inevitable that the CCP labs would have leaks. Further, we know that despite being supposedly a Biosafety level 4 facility, the actual coronavirus gain of function research was only being conducted at BSL 2, which has minimal protection. We also know that US representatives went to the WIV on March 27, 2018, met with "bat lady" Shi Zhengli, the head of coronavirus research, and were told that the lab was operating dangerously, and begged for more US money to supposedly fund improved safety measures.
