Maybe in the upcoming Ragnarok game, Surtr destroys Asgard and the world is reborn with a new pantheon of gods. Idk

Most of you are probably familiar with the division of Norse deities into Æsir and Vanir. Well, I don't believe in that (here's a sorta tl;dr I wrote sometime ago). The consequence of this is that many things we "know" about Norse mythology must be reinterpreted. Enter Mímir: part of the hostage exchange following the conclusion of the (fake news) war between the Æsir and Vanir, he lost his head... literally. Snorri relates how in Ynglinga saga:

> [The Vanir] seized Mimir and beheaded him and sent the head to the Æsir. Óðinn took the head, smeared it with herbs so that it would not rot, and spoke incantations over it, which ensorcelled so it spoke to him and told him many secret things.

Without the Vanir, this turns into a real whodunnit. Or it would, if not Sigrdrífumál 14 said that it was good ol' Óðinn who went chop-chop, as noticed by Jere Fleck some near fifty years ago:

So we have a process that involves: sword, herbs and incantations. I can't shake the thought that this is related somehow to the standard tripartition of IE medical treatment. Quoting Fortson:

When you think about it, a sword is really just an exaggerated surgical tool ^ok ^not ^really. Óðinn's quest for wisdom is well-attested, as is his relation to magic. Healing, not so much (in Old Norse texts at least - the Anglo-Saxon Nine Herbs Charm might point in that direction though).

The question is, what is he trying to cure exactly? Is this another instance of a grim cure for old age? Is it parallel to Kvasir, who "choked on his wisdom", in other words slain by dwarves? Or is it just ludicrous?

So we all know that Kratos was never interested in learning about his new surroundings. We also know that Atreus is incredibly smart and wants to learn about new things and has that ability. With the pair still having Mímir in the new game and the revelation at the end of the game, do you think that Kratos and Mímir could maybe teach Atreus a thing or two about the Greek world? Would anyone else like to see Kratos teaching Atreus about the gods he has slain or Spartan battle techniques?

Mímir, the keeper of the well Mímisbrunnr was a god of great wisdom. Even Allfather Odin sought his advice and even gave up one of his eyes in return for drinking out of Mímir well. Mímir however suffered a poor fate. After the Aesir and Vanir war, Mímir and Hœnir were sent to Vanaheimr as part of the peace treaty, Hœnir was hailed as a warrior and was made chieftain of the Vanir. However, if Hœnir was at a Thing and Mímir was not present to give advice to Hœnir, he would let others decide. The Vanir belived the Aesir had cheated them in the treaty and cut off Mímir head, sending it to Asgard. Odin took care of Mímir head, embalmed it and put charms over it so Mímir would continue to speak words of wisdom to Odin. Now the fury of Ragnarök is at hand and Mímir have returned to his body, there are many advices to give now.

Mímir is best used as a support, the passive will help your partner and give you a tiny bonus for helping your friend. You don't want to spend all time next to your ally however, as some god might have AoE abilities to hit you both.

Water of Mímisbrunnr

Mímir takes a drink from his well, healing him 75/100/125/150/175(+60% of your magical power). Also grant him bonus magical power.
Bonus Magical power: 5/15/25/35/45 for 5s.
Cost: 65/70/75/80/85 mana.
Cooldown: 16/16/15/14/14 seconds.

Passive Effect: Heal the lowest health god in range for 75% of the heal. All nearby gods get 5/10/15/20/25 HP5 for 10s.

Good Words

Mímir speaks wise words to his allies, flinging them like insults at his enemies during a game of flyting as a thin, straight projectile, damaging the target for 50/100/150/200/250 (+50% of your magical power). The words will pierce all minions for half damage but stop at the first god hit, slowing them for 10% for 3s.
Cost: 70/75/80/85/90 mana.
Cooldown: 8 seconds.

Passive Effect: Mímir tells his allies he just insulted the opponent, preparing them by giving them and himself bonus protection 15/20/25/30/35 for 5s.

So I'm thinking of running a campaign where the players play agents in the acquisition department of a giant library city. Every mission they would be tracking down and recovering rare or dangerous books. Apart from this I have some fluff where in order to hold any shift of standing in the city to just have a degree, higher standing requires a higher degree. For example lieutenant professor of Demonology Robert Brandon, for military. (He is also the person the players would report to) any other cool ideas for fluff? It's a steam punk style but steam is bad for books so it's all psychic energy based. Hit me up with ideas people.

Since I believe that this is the last we've heard so far about Ned's bones (correct me if I'm wrong) we can believe that this whole time Howland Reed has been taking care of this old friend.

I don't think we're headed (oh god.) to a Surprise Ned Revival, anytime soon, but I do think that Ned may be Westeros' Mimir:

Mímir (Old Norse "The rememberer, the wise one") or Mim is a figure in Norse mythology renowned for his knowledge and wisdom who is beheaded during the Æsir-Vanir War. Afterward, the god Odin carries around Mímir's head and it recites secret knowledge and counsel to him.

At the center of the Norse spiritual cosmos is an ash tree called Yggdrasil (IG-druh-sill) amongst its roots lies a well that gave anyone who drank from it great knowledge and wisdom. This well belonged to a shadowy being whose knowledge of all things was practically unparalleled among the inhabitants of the cosmos. He achieved this status largely by taking drinking the water from his well.

When Odin arrived, he asked Mímir --- Also known as "The rememberer" --- for a drink from the water. The well’s guardian, knowing the value of such a draught, refused unless the seeker offered an eye in return. Odin gouged out one of his eyes and dropped it into the well. Mímir then dipped his horn into the well and offered the now-one-eyed god a drink.

After a great war between the Aesir and Vanir Odin discovered the body and severed head of Mímir. Upon seeing the severed head, Odin embalmed it with special herbs and chanted magical songs over it to preserve it. Whenever Odin was in need of council, knowledge or wisdom he would seek it from Mímir whom he held close by.

With Odin and the other Gods gone Mímir was left there, bodiless, helpless. Until one day Mímir foretold the events where Heimdall would blow a sound horn with all his strength to warn the Gods of Ragnarök's onset. Knowing that Odin would need his council he descends to the battlefield with only the delicate image of his past self holding him together. For he knows what other do not and he knows that nothing, whether in heaven or on earth, is without fear.

• Appearance: Very little is known of what Mímir looks like, the only images of him are like THIS; where he is pictured as a regular --- in this case headless --- man. So I looked around and found THIS awesome picture of him holding his drinking horn called Gjallarhorn (try and say that three times fast) which could be his weapon. His main symbols are his Well (which is part of the world tree's roots) and his drinking horn --- which has the same name as the horn used by Heimdall to warn the gods.

I welcome any constructive criticism and questions. I tried to make a mage that can deal high damage to single targets while also lending support to his allies, but holding back on the AOE and hopefully making different mage. If he's too OP please give suggestions to changes.

Appereance sort of like this, but carried by minions. Mímir appears on the battlefield as only a very large head of a very old man(the head is about the size of Bakasura) being carried around by minions, with long white hair and a long white beard . Three minions to carry the head, and two to carry his staff, a small piece of root from the Tree of Life, Yggdrasil, and finally one to carry a horn of water from the Well of Wisdom. His hair and beard drags along the ground, only exposing the minions when he jumps. His height minions included will be standard humanoid, but width around the same as Zhong Kui. Jump animation: The minions will throw Mímir's head into the air.

Mímir knows the future, and the outcome of every battle, and as a result he does not fear his destiny, and is therefore very resistant to all mental (not physical like stun or sleep) effects (e. g. fear, mesmerize - including damage caused by mental effects) mental effects are reduced to 25 % damage and duration. Hi!

I'm been a big fan of Iceland for years, and I eventually want to plan on moving here. However, I first want to learn more of the language in order to be able to communicate better.

I'm currently enrolled in an online Icelandic course through Mímir, which starts in two weeks. There, I'm hoping to get the basics in. I suck at teaching myself without guidance, which is why I chose a course.

However, I feel like the best way for me to actually learn the language and apply it, is to study Icelandic at an Icelandic university. I've read about two universities offering courses for international students,but there's one problem: I'm not a student.

I'm Dutch, so living in Iceland for a few months won't be a problem when it comes to housing or working (I work remotely anyway). Still, I'd like to be able to actually follow classes there for a few months instead of just working remotely from a different location. But I can't seem to find anything about that.

Does anyone know if it's possible to apply as an international student for a course? Or would I have to be a full student and follow a BA?

I'm not planning on doing this soon, so I'm in no rush and would rather spend more time learning through an online course than jumping into it without knowing when or how.

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
