A list of puns related to "Localisation Of Function"
Is this possible? I'm trying to get the country to incorporate the current capital name of the country into the country name of whoever has my cosmetic tag.
CHI_opposition_neutrality:0 "[Owner.Capital.GetName] Government"
I've tried using almost every variation of [Capital.GetName] I can think of but it just prints the code as text.
As far as I remember, from the level of graphics, it was probably made around the early 2000s?
I'm trying to change the names of several countries under different ideologies, but I can't find the localisation files for their names. For example, the file for the Gryphian Host only has national focuses, events and other such stuff, but nothing about national names. Same with many others. Could anyone who knows a bit more about the gamefiles help me?
What are some really clever, insane, or funny ways you've seen the original lines be changed to fit the dub?
One that stands out to me is a line from Clannad: After Story. Akio is trying to disguise himself as a rapper, and shows off his rap to Tomoya. But Tomoya points out that Akio's rap reveals his identity. In the subtitles of the Japanese dub, Akio's reply is translated literally as:
>"Seriously? You mean that? Crap, yo!"
It's what he says, but doesn't make for a great rap in English. So, they changed his line in the English dub to:
>"Brother, that's whack! I'd better take that rap back!"
Perfect! I had a good laugh when I heard it. Are there any examples you know of inexact translations that are better than the original line?
>!You're going to say Ghost Stories, right? It's okay. You can say Ghost Stories.!<
Honestly I'd like to see some trailers with Chinese Voice-overs but I'm getting ahead of myself.
Also this is just a personal gripe of mine. So feel free to ignore it but I wish that Guan Yu was just known as a Legendary Champion and when he dies his status changes to God of War.
I've seen the Battlefield conversation where Zhang Fei calls Guan Yu the 'God of War'. It makes 0 sense because that's a posthumous thing. He was deified much later at least a few hundred years.
I've been playing Persona 5 Royal the past few days (lucky me) and it's great so far. There is only one thing that is bugging me. Since i live in Austria i ordered the AT-PEGI Version which is fine and all but the Text is completely localized in German and the Audio is in English. Is there any way to change the language of the Text to English? I searched through the config but couldn't find anything. Thank you all in advance for answers! :)
the proliferation of https is a reason for PirateBox to continue, not end!
now, even more than before, we desperately need DIY-friendly learning resources for communities trying to use networking and certification protocols for standalone / localised applications!
noooOOOOOooooooo!! /tantrum
ok. currently my project uses web audio api, most of which is universally available across a http connection. but, if webkit ever gets their act together, and [audioWorklet](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/AudioWorklet) becomes implemented across both Android and iOS devices, because audioWorklet is specified to require https, I will absolutely be looking for ways to instantiate an https connection from a standalone WLAN from a RPi / GliNet router.
is this theoretically possible?
So just for the sake of context, a year ago I was sitting around, getting high and playing Portal 2 with very little career prospects. I had been out of work for nearly a year and wasn't sure what to do. Don't get me wrong, Portal 2 is sick and weed is rather lovely, but it was time to be an adult.
Last week, the boss said that I had been recommended for leading the localisation project of our app. That means I'm responsible for translating the app into new languages, which is a hell of a step!
I'm now getting my head round all the code, preparing a basic roadmap and reading everything I can on localisation.
I feel so grown up ๐
Sorry if this was discussed in the past, but I was wondering if there's any news on this guy being localised for the TCG. I assumed that itself and Magicalize Fusion could come out in Duel Power due to its resemblance to Dark Magician design wise. What do you guy's think?
I'm maybe 50 hours through DQXI and loving every minute. I have to say that the localisation of this game is by far and away the best I have ever seen in any game.
Not just the fantastic voice acting across the board (Rab and Veronica are highights for me!) but the actual text itself is outstanding. Two areas spring to mind that really emphasise this, and that would be Hotto and a later area. To not just tranlate from Japanese to English but to also successfully make every character speak in either Haiku or ryhming couplets is really incredible. Second to that would be the use of dialect in places like Dundrasil, which made me laugh pretty often.
I know that Legends of Localisation did a couple of books on Zelda and Earthbound, but I think it would be amazing to see a book on the Dragon Quest series - especially after having seen this amazing localisation job.
Hoi lads, does anyone experience trouble localizing the source of a gunshot, for example?
I've got stereo settings turned on, a great pair of headsets (Sennheizer pc360)
In every other game this issue doesn't exists for me, if I'm playing DayZ and getting shot from my left, I'll instantly hear it and turn to my left to return fire.
When I get shot at in PUBG I have now idea where the shot came from, I just spin around like a headless chicken trying to panic spot my attacker..
Is it just me?
On a side note: Anyone else hear a constant ''reloading sound'' when playing? It's like the reloading sound of a win94 got stuck in an infinite soundloop..
