A list of puns related to "Legal Dramas"
My husband and I chose my best friend and his partner to be the legal guardians for our daughter if we die before sheβs 18 instead of our families.
My husband isnβt close to his family so thereβs no one on his side weβd want to leave her with. My family is delightful, and I have a brother who helped raise me, and I think the world of him, but his wife isnβt exactly the type of person I want to help raise my kid. Sheβs generally very dramatic, close minded about people who are different than her and has made some racist comments here and there over the years. Not to mention, they live in the shitty small town I grew up in that I couldnβt wait to leave. Thereβs little opportunity there and itβs a very different community than the one we live in currently.
My mom and dad are devastated over this decision, and my dad is barely talking to me. My mom thinks that family should absolutely be the preference for this decision despite my SIL having very different values. Also, my friend is gay, which makes no difference to me, but is a sticking point for my parents and they struggle to see how two men will raise a girl. π Mom wants me to talk to my brother about it because heβll be heartbroken to learn we didnβt choose him if we die.
Am I the asshole? Should I have chosen a family member? Is it that uncommon to choose a friend who you know would give your child a good home and raise them with your same values in the community youβve chosen to live? Iβm feeling a ton of guilt over my decision now. Has anyone else gone through this?
Will take science fiction, horror, fantasy, anything
I've been rereading Marillier's Warrior Bards series, and something that I found weirdly fun about the second book especially were the sections that played out, essentially, like modern day courtroom dramas. Maybe it's because that genre's always been a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine, but I'd be interested in reading something that feels like an episode of fantasy Law & Order or fantasy Suits, particularly if the legal system used is completely made up (with sufficient worldbuilding) and relates to magic. Thanks in advance!
Gooooood morning folks, it's your host DEDSEC back in the thick of another drama, if you haven't read the previous Episode, you can visit it by using the following link: here
It appears that the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Twitter handle got hacked which posted BTC as legal tender for the country.
India has been keen on regulating Crypto Currencies and the PM had the final say on the topic. Reports suggest that hack couldn't be more perfectly timed.

We will be linking the archive.org link as soon as the snapshot had taken place.
This show is so damn entertaining! I just recently got into it, and have been binging the first few seasons. Interesting storylines, smart character development, very intelligent dialogue.
Any fans have recommendations of similar shows?
I've been on a legal drama kick recently. Most legal dramas focus on the prosecution, some focus on criminal defense for innocent people, and very few focus on criminal defense for the guilty.
I can't think of a single one that focuses on a trial featuring a public defender, especially not in a positive light.
I found a documentary called Gideon's Army, but that's it. Anyone got any suggestions?
Edit: I'm in Scotland, but obviously Royal Mail is UK wide so not sure where the legal jurisdiction falls in that situation?
Short version of 2 separate issues.
First issue:
- Multiple people in my flat have Royal Mail Click and Drop PAYG accounts (not the business on-account ones - their distinction).
- We all sell junk online when we're done with it (like most people) but we aren't businesses.
- Unfortunately Royal Mail's system keeps classifying us as businesses. The main consequence of this is that when items are lost in transit, they refuse to pay compensation because 'we're a business'. But we aren't.
- Every time we have an issue it takes hours and hours and hours to sort. This latest one I'm up to 10 phone calls in 2 days totalling over 6 hours (and all of my free cellphone minutes plus extra money when they ran out). I've spent basically Β£10 talking to them about a Β£45 claim, and it's still not resolved.
- This has been going on for over 3 years now and covers multiple claims. My housemates still claim and make the effort, I've given up and lost out on 3 claims I was entitled to this year alone (value around Β£75) because I can't handle the drama of trying to sort them.
- We have repeatedly (dozens of times) requested our incorrect information is corrected (as per GDPR obligations) but despite reassuring us they have, I don't think a single claim in 3+ years has gone through correctly. They just won't fix it.
Second issue:
- Different people in the house get correspondence from Royal Mail with information from multiple accounts in the household - this has been going on for 3+ years now.
- As an example, *John Smith has an account signed up with John@john.com, Lucy Green has an account signed up with Lucy@lucy.com There is no association between these people or accounts other than they live in the same house. John recently received post from Royal Mail addressed to 'John Smith Lucy Green' - information that is clearly taken from John's account (fine), but also Lucy's account (not fine). On other occasions, Lucy uses the name 'Lucy's Facebook Group' as the 'sender' when creating shipping labels. John has received mail addressed to 'John Smith Lucy's Facebook Group' - clearly a) not John's information, b) Lucy's private information, and c) none of John's f*ing business... but Royal Mail is making it his business and getting Lucy in trouble!
(yes I'm Lucy in this scenario....
... keep reading on reddit β‘Charli D'amelio used two photos I took of her in her book without permission or payment, contrary to a written agreement we had. My tweets put me on Drama Alert and now Charli D'Amelio's team threatening legal action.
Here's the article that started this all: https://www.dexerto.com/entertainment/charli-damelio-slammed-by-photographer-for-stealing-his-pictures-for-her-book-1643549/
This is the Drama Alert I was in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rhmun4HJu4&t=27s
Here's my response video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZL4OKeihjs&t=10s
At this point, I can't deal with the onslaught of Charli stans telling me that my career is over and did this response to make things clear. I would love if this was covered, now the whole internet thinks I'm clout chasing while I'm just sticking up for my art.
exactly what the title says, bonus points if its got gangsters/organized crime. slice of life or comedy that still revolves around people like detectives/lawyers/etc (think brooklyn nine nine) is also good! i just need to see some people in the same/similar field of study as me having a slightly better time for a little motivation boost. netflix or anywhere thats legal & free is preferred & i'm in canada π
Author's note: I've found it difficult to try to write up a story dealing with the complex overlapping events involving Keith Raniere's imprisonment, appeal, and strange goings on involving the NXIVM loyalists. I have thrown out four drafts now. Instead, I'm going to just try to deal with this as a developing story like a court date, using bullets and updating as necessary.
Background (events up to Sunday, Oct. 17)
What happened the week starting Monday Oct. 18?
Hello, so recently I have been 'obsessed' with legal dramas, particularly legal romance dramas. I am very picky when it comes to selecting a drama, but I have found that these are my ideal:
FL has to have a strong character. Doesn't necessarily mean she has to fight, but has to be quirky. I would like if you give me a drama where FL is a Lawyer/ Prosecutor herself and not some secretary or paralegal.
ML preferably is a Lawyer/ Prosecutor too.
Office Romance?
I have till date watched Witch At Court, Vincenzo, I Hear your Voice. Anything else you have to add to this petite list?
The ratings are the highest theyβve ever been.
