A list of puns related to "Leeds Central"
Pretty much as it says, looking for some good halal restaurants within walking distance of the train station for team lunches with work.
In perhaps the least surprising turn of events possible in any Leeds United best XI, Billy Bremner takes his place in the heart of midfield. Providing assitance going backwards and forwards, with a shot to rival anyone's past or present we have a world class player in the midst of our team.
Now though we must select his partner, a player with which we can help build an attack the (footballing) world will fear and ensure no one gets a moment's peace. Having come in last I am relegating Tony Currie today (sorry Tony) and promoting two from the honourable mentions in place of both Tony and Bremmer. As I've already done the honourable mentions in yesterday's poll there'll be no further ones I'll add I'm going to add.
Until the end of the poll, I'm going to avoid disclosing my choice until the full 11 comes out. My reasoning for this, is that this isn't a poll just for me it's for you. However, a lot of people have raised the point that it's hard to vote for players you haven't seen before and while for some players footage is rare, I'm going to provide a few links in the bios to show off some of the older players you might not have seen. Not required viewing of course, as you can use whatever criteria you like to make your choice (impact on the club, number of goals/appearances, cult appeal, trophies etc.) but if you're interested it'll be there.
The Rules
The top option goes into the team but if the second best option gets within 5% of the winner he gets onto the bench. If there are two positions available (e.g. at CB or in midfield) we will have a run off vote the following day unless the second option gets within 5% of the winner in which case there will be no run off no exceptions.
If you feel I've missed anyone major or would like to vote for an honourable mention, then you can! Simply check the comments to see if anyone has said their name already, an upvote for that player counts as a vote. If your favourite player isn't there already, please leave their name in the comment. This way if you want to see Billy Bremner in midfield but I've put Carlton Palmer and Tomas Brolin in the options instead. You can usurp me in the comments.
We play in a 4-1-4-1 formation as selected by you. At the end of the 11 we will fill out the squad with wildcard options (some will be serious and others not) until it gets old.
Hey all,
I am looking for a shop stocking a good range of spices, preferably in the city centre.
Specifically, I am looking for Aleppo chilli flakes and Urfa chilli flakes.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Anyone have any ideas?
Hi, does anyone have any recommendations for best places to park in the city centre?
Anyone know who's showing the game tomorrow. I live in E2 but anywhere fairly central would be great. MOT
We'll be organising some friendly 5-a-side football games every Monday, Tuesday & Thursday evenings in Leeds Central Powerleague. Looking for new players to join the group. All ages and abilities are welcome. The games will be played for fun and some much needed fitness. If interested at all, drop me a message here or can contact me on 07527326064. Cheers, Danny
I'm looking to organise a mid-week work evening out with a mixed group (different ages, some non-drinkers, not necessarily all a jazz crowd, etc). Would the Domino club be a good shout for this? It looks fun, and gimmicky enough to be a crowd pleaser given the location, while also still having some great music. Can anyone vouch for this? And where else might we consider?
So my friend is studying in Leeds and has been a Barcelona fan since we were little kids. He's having a hard time finding one over there. So if anyone knows any pub that shows Barcelona matches please let me know.
Could anyone suggest the biggest second-hand mobile shop in Leeds?
I want a spare cheap old Nokia with a massive battery life to take on a cycling trip with me as a spare.
Iβd prefer to recycle a used one than buy brand new so if anyone could recommend a place in the town centre Iβd be very grateful.
Hello Everyone,
I am a meetup organiser for the group "Deviant Robot" (DvR). We are a country-wide social and meetup organisation that is continuously expanding and always looking for more friends to join us across the world. We are looking for more like-minded people to join our Leeds Chapter and add to our growing friends group.
A brief history: DvR was started by William Owen in Cambridge in early 2014. The aim was to bring together like-minded individuals to socialise, play games, have fun and make lasting friendships. After finding quick success with the group, Will moved to London bringing the group with him and leaving the Cambridge chapter in capable hands. The London group quickly grew exponentially and has now hit over 3000 members. Since then, we have created chapters in Leeds, Berlin and Melbourne and are still expanding.
The Leeds chapter of Deviant Robot has been running since Winter 2015 and has built up 900~ members with new members joining every week. We run 2 Social Meetups per month: Monday Monthly - 1st Monday of every month Thursday Monthly - 3rd Thursday of every month
These meetups are based at the Adelphi Hotel in Leeds centre and are open to all who wish to attend. Each meetup consists of members bringing along board games, card games and social games for everyone to play as well as members socialising with each other in the comfort of the venue.
Some examples of games we play:
Alongside the usual meetups we also host movie meets. These movie meets happen once per month and are a way for people to watch the best "geek-culture" movies together with others and discuss their thoughts on the movies.
We are planning many new events in future including: D&D sessions, Video game evenings and theatre trips. All of which will be moderated by one of our staff members.
If you are interested in joining us, all information can be found on the meetup site found here
Some photos from our previous events:
We hope to see many Leodensians join us at future meetups!

A number of you have contacted me about the current difficulties in the Labour Party, following the seismic EU referendum result, and I wanted therefore to write to all of you to set out my view of where we are and what I believe we need to do.
It has now become clear that there is widespread concern among Labour MPs and in the Shadow Cabinet about Jeremy Corbyn's leadership of our Party. This was brought into sharp focus by his unwillingness to lead during the EU referendum campaign in which he appeared disengaged and unenthusiastic. As a result, there is no confidence in our ability to win the next election, which may come much sooner than expected, if Jeremy continues as Leader. A recent poll showed that 29% of people who said they had voted Labour in the 2015 general election would not do so again currently.
At this critical time for our country, following the result of the EU referendum, we need strong and effective leadership of our Party β one that is capable of winning public support and that can stand up for the people of Britain in making the case for a deal with the EU to protect our economy.
In a phone conversation with Jeremy on Saturday night, I told him that for these reasons I had lost confidence in his ability to lead the Party and he then dismissed me from the Shadow Cabinet. I thanked him for having given me the opportunity to serve him and the Party as Shadow Foreign Secretary.
This has been a very difficult decision for me and for colleagues in the Shadow Cabinet, a majority of whom have now tendered their resignations.
I did not vote for Jeremy last September, but I willingly served in his Shadow Cabinet because I felt we all had a responsibility to support him as the duly elected Leader of the Labour Party. It is, however, now patently clear that because he cannot offer us the leadership we need, he has lost the confidence of many of his colleagues in Parliament. As I said on Sunday, I know Jeremy to be a good and a decent man, but he is not a leader and that is the problem. Nor is this about his politics or values. It is about our capacity to win back support and to gain the publicβs trust and confidence β as we must β if we are going to be able to respond to the concerns felt by so many of the people who voted to leave the EU.
I realise that there will be those among you who disagree with what I and others in Parliament have done, but I think we have a wider responsibility to the Labour party β to w

We play every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at the Powerleague, LS3 1LW.
Friendly kickabouts and everyone's welcome, price is Β£6 per person. Let me know if interested.
Cheers
Thanks in advance.
Knowledge is power. Anyone lived in or know anything about the following in terms of things I can't easily find out, such as noise in area, sort of neighbours, reputable estate agents, hidden costs, bills sky high due to poor insulation, bad build quality, floods a lot etc. Do places near the royal armouries get lots of noise on show days? I need to sleep in daytime due to shift work.. often at weekends.
The above list is pretty much my full list of developments I'm looking at, others have been rules out for various reasons.I know the ls2 ones look a bit more shabby but its close to work so that gives mega points. If anyone knows that a certain agent are cowboys tell me too as I seem to be dealing with every estate agent in Leeds!
I am from leeds just making my move to my dream of a city center flat!
update
I signed gateway in the end, so will only be checking here if that falls through, unless anyone has anything to warn me about there hhe
With six positions locked down, Kalvin Phillips takes his place among the legends as the very first player from the modern period to win his place in the team.
Now we move into the heart of our midfield in our 4β1β4-1. Which again causes interest in that weβre working with βfreeβ 8s rather than classic central midfielders. Spaces are at a premium here, so there will be people who miss out and my honourable mentions may not be as detailed today.
