Hey! So I'm somewhat of an Intermediate player, been playing competitively for about 6 months or so, and I've recently been playing around with Jolteon VMAX a lot.
I've heard a lot of YouTubers say that the Leafeon match up is super easy if you're playing Jolteon, but for some reason I actually find it quite hard, and always lose when I come against it on the ladder. People say the reason the match up is easy is because Jolteon has free retreat so grass knot doesn't do much damage, but in all the matchups I've played, the Leafeon player just uses Max Leaf instead, which actually derails me significantly, because not only does it two hit KO my Jolteon, but the 30 damage healing every turn makes the Leafeon a 4 or even 5 hit KO.
Is there something I could be doing wrong? Or are there any tips for how I could be playing this matchup so it doesn't seem so hard?
As a side note, I'm also finding that Jolteon somehow always seems super slow to set up, having come from playing a bunch of Suicune V. There are so many games where I just lose because I couldn't get down Sobble's or Jolteon V's

So I am currently on pokemon platinum.im in post game.in order to make post game feel fresh I've thought about changing leafeon for roaserade.since I'm well into the post game I can catch a nuzleaf and breed extrasensory and leaf storm to roaserade as well.but then again leafeon still haven't gotten his best attack(leaf blade) yet. And there is still a quite a bit of postgame remaining including fronterior and battle zone. Should I keep leafeon or go for roserade. My current team is

Im new to the competitive format so I may just be missing something, but solar blade swords dance plus 2 coverage moves leafeon seems really good paired with torkoal in UU. Is it because it basically needs sun to be viable, or is it a stat issue, because venusaur is in UU and leafeon is ZU, and leafeon has a higher base speed and its base attack is higher than venusaurs base SpAtk. Probably something coverage related, but idk.
