A list of puns related to "Lead Sulfide"
Hi,
I'm want to use Sodium Sulfide to do a batch of lead pre-screenings in my chemistry class. I want the students to bring some things from home like paint flakes, so we can test them. I'm loath to buy premade kits online when I know I could cheaply make up a batch from lab stock.
Disclaimers: Yes, I know this is a qualitative test, and it can also be fooled by other ions. I'm using this as an opportunity to introduce students to double replacement reactions and their role in water testing. I will discuss the possibility of interference from other metal ions with them.
I am also aware that Sodium Sulfide should be handled with care because it is corrosive. I'm planning on the students wearing gloves, goggles, and lab coats. We would handle it with the same care we take with NaOH. I only want to use it at the molarity that is found in over the counter lead testing kits, nothing crazy dangerous.
I grew up in NJ, love Newark, and hate subscribing to stereotypes about this state, but it's hard to ignore these frequent and egregious public health issues.

To briefly explain what will be an extremely lengthy post, alchemy appears to be a major theme in Elden Ring. Many other games and fantasy works borrow from the rich concepts and symbolism of alchemy and the magnum opus (the Great Work), but the influences in Elden Ring are so pervasive that the inhabitants of the world literally have alchemy references coming out of their asses (i.e., the Gold-Tinged Excrement item). There is a lot to examine, so Iβll cover the major points up front.
If you are of the opinion that looking too hard for clues ahead of time can spoil your enjoyment later, viewing any of the posted content is not recommended. If you are interested in deep analysis that doesnβt know when to stop, read on. This post will bring in outside resources to compare with publicly available information. No leaks will be discussed or shown, with the exception of the widely circulated early concept art of the full map (which is too interesting to pass up).
Update: I have taken a closer look at Elden Rin

As many of you know, despite being cured from PSSD for a few months now, I still dedicate much of my time towards helping people with PSSD and researching the gut connection. I believe that I now have a (nearly) complete etiology of PSSD, hence the reason for this post. To start, I want to establish the connection between PSSD/PAS/PFS, CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome), and Covid Longhaul. If you have not heard of CFS or Covid Longhaul, I encourage you to look into them. These conditions are identical to PSSD/PAS/PFS; the symptoms are the exact same (with the exception of those who do not experience brain fog or fatigue - I'll explain this discrepancy later). If you have any doubt about this, please go onto the corresponding subreddits for these conditions and read peopleβs stories, I can guarantee they will ring a bell. I began looking into CFS when my PSSD fatigue was getting bad and that was the first time I noticed all the similarities (however many other researchers have noticed these similarities as well). After I had cured myself by treating my SIBO, I began to notice that SIBO also has a very high prevalence in the CFS community. Sure enough, I had even found cases and stories of people curing their CFS after a corrective mechanism to the gut (change in diet, fmt, probiotics, etc). I doubt many of you know what Covid Longhaul is, but it is essentially a CFS/PSSD-type state that people can go into AFTER getting covid. Just like with CFS and PSSD, some recover and their symptoms go away and some donβt recover at all. It is common knowledge that viruses (such as covid) are capable of altering the gut microbiome so this is another clue that points to Covid Longhaul being a gut issue. You already know (from my previous post) that SSRIs can alter the gut microbiome and leave it with reduced diversity. If you do not know what the MMC (migrating motor complex) is, look into it. It is the muscle mechanism that the gut uses to digest food and move bacteria and fungi out of the small intestine. Gut motility describes the ability of the MMC to perform its job. There are many different factors that affect gut

If you ever post a comment and it instantaneously goes to -10+ downvotes within 30 seconds of posting it, that's a strong sign that it's unnatural and you're being brigaded by people who are paid to do so. It's clear that this subreddit is compromised and completely ruined, and if you value your sanity it's probably best to hang elsewhere if you want to discuss JRE rationally with a community of actual supporters, instead of the endless horde of triggered lunatics that are ready to pounce on your COVID wrong think and defend big pharma's honor above all else. Reddit as a whole is so far gone, and if Aaron Schwartz were alive today, he'd be ashamed of what you've done to this place.
**If you hate Joe and his podcast this much, why don't you just go somewhere else like topmindsofreddit or some other cringe sub full of lunatics that do nothing but hate? What keeps you here? Rational criticism is one thing and that's okay, but that's not what's happening here AT ALL. These people viscerally hate joe and JRE, and they spend all there time here bitching and moaning about every little thing he says, mass downvoting anything that counters the narratives on COVID, while blindly defending literal criminals at the same time and virtue signaling about how you're such a good person for letting them experimentally inject you. You treat science like a religion instead of a process of asking questions and discerning evidence, and you put these labcoats on an infallible pedestal and ignore all the prior lies, corruption, inversion, and outright fraud they've peddled as fact. Your behavior and worldview about this entire COVID ordeal checks every single box for being in a cult. No amount of evidence or reason will ever change your mind. You have been baptized into a religion and you can't leave without admitting that you were naive, childish, ideological, and wrong. At some point in the next few years we're going to get some leaked emails, declassified docs, FOIA docs, etc, and it will become abundantly clear what the purpose of COVID was, and that it had nothing to do with your health or wellbeing. I'm sure many of you will pretend that you were on the right side of history, but the internet never forgets. You were complicit with overt crimes and allowed them to continue through your blind support, and that makes you just

The cracked glass of an oven door reflected the four golden orbs of his eyes. Blue veins encroached upon black pupils and were in turn framed within rings of sagging skin. He was no longer the youth banished here long ago but an old fart not far from the grave.
A geyser of hydrogen sulfide erupted from the valley below and shook the mountain above. Darmok's digitigrade legs scrambled to get their master under the protection of a metal overhang before the avalanche struck. Plastic bobbles, clothing, handheld electronics, and other lightweight articles bombarded the shelter. They were compelled downward by the full two gees of the planet's gravity. The bombardment ceased and he started out. But back under the shelter he fled when a single seater spaceship came rolling end-over-end down the mountainside. It hit the overhang with a deafening crunch and continued toward the valley floor.
Darmok was surprised that the metal took no damage. He ran his three fingered hands across its surface: aluminum sheets over a diamond core. It was a piece of military grade spaceship plating. There had been quite a lot of plating dumped lately and not all of it human in origin. Another species must have become entangled with the human's Galactic Commonwealth. He hoped they proved a worthy foe while remembering how little hope had helped his own people.
Many paths now stretched to the summit. Experience had taught him that firm ground was better than a fast route. The most direct paths were made of loose terrain in danger of becoming the next avalanche. He identified two that were bolstered by steel pipes that had interlocked as they settled. Yet these paths wound around the mountain as much as they climbed it. He was going to be late anyway, so safety came first.
But which path should he choose, left or right? Maybe a human ritual could aid his decision.
He pawed at the grime until he found what he was looking for: a Commonwealth coin. He turned it over in his hands. 100 Shill, a larger denomination than most he'd uncovered, yet just as worthless to him in his banishment. Now, how did the ritual go again? Oh yeah. Assign each side a decision then toss the coin into the air. Whichever side lands face up results in that decision being made. One. Two. Three. The portrait of a Commonwealth Prime Minister smiled up at him. Rig

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
What is wrong with Tom Emmer? I would like to start my section on what I would do if I ran for Congress by showing you transcripts from two planned Commercials when I was a consultant for a Congressional Candidate against Tom Emmer:
βItβs evening in Minnesota. Today, Minnesota in the 6th District has women making less than men. Senior citizens are facing bankruptcy due to mounting healthcare costs. Today, rising rent and mortgages are leading to housing bubbles like 2008. With inflation at a thirty-year high and without subsidies, Farmers in CD6 face an uncertain future. Under the leadership of Tom Emmer, our state is worse than it was six years ago. We need an outsider who will vote for change. Why wouldnβt you want to return to prosperity before Trump?β
Here is the second planned commercial: βThere is a hypocrite in the State. Some people say that he is great. Others say he is the worst. The hypocrite praises the Bible when he saysβ (Luke 12:15) Life does not consist in an abundance of possessions;β yet, he makes millions from Special Interest Group. He cites the Bible when he tried to ban Same-Sex Marriages; yet, the Bible says (Leviticus 19:18) βlove thy neighbor as thyself.β The hypocrite says he is supportive of his fellow hypocrite; yet, (Proverbs 29:12) βIf a ruler leads to falsehood, all his officials will be wicked.β Isnβt it smart to beat the hypocrite and put in a leader? β
Unlike Dusty Johnson, Tom Emmer is not a great Republican for Congress. While one can disagree with Dusty on certain policies such as abortion and tax cuts, Dusty at-least is well-intentioned. Not Tom Emmer. From an economic standpoint, Emmerβs views on mining are flawed. The environmental impact is obvious. Emmer authored a bill in Minnesota that would have opened the area between the BWCAW and Lake Superior to sulfide mining, which would have ruined two watersheds by using mining that would have done damage significantly to the environment.
A few years ago, most Republicans in Congress voted on a bill which would have reversed an FCC privacy rule called βnet neutrality.β In other words, Internet Service Providers could maintain a monopoly on the Internet, sell browsing data to companies, and, charge exorbitant prices on their product without regulation from the FCC. Without βnet neutrality,β an ISP can control speed to a website based on agreements with said website. An ISP now can slow down speed on certain sites. Emmer, in return for his vote, got $18,500.
However,

It was not a misunderstanding, intrusion of governing bodies or an offense to any unspoken law of the universe. They just happened to stumble upon one of the secret headquarters of an infamous crime syndicate, "Milu Kuka".
Though the Milu Kuka strayed far away from Turek Soorj, and only observed them from afar, their developments reached far beyond their own projections and began to uncover their secret operations.
Thus, to prevent further developments from occurring, they decided to besiege the colony; acting as both an insurance and to at least gain an easy payday. This ushered in a first contact war where a single human colony was cut off of all communications and had to face down one of the most brutal criminal organizations to terrorize the galaxy.
There is a reason why the Siege is regarded as a war. Instead of a one-sided slaughter, what was supposed to last several days, got dragged on for two earth years. In part of this, the Siege of Turek Soorj, even after 50 years, became one of the most important study pieces for any scholar or war historian on how preparation and ingenuity can win battles.
For the Museum of First Contacts on the Planet Lensco, it was one of their best documented events; not in regards to coverage, but in sheer detail and depth.
Leading the typical group of visitors, the tour guide finally got around to introducing them to the Human exhibit for first contacts. Due to their design choices, instead of open displays or artifacts left over from their respective events like the others, humanity had been reserved a singular large dome room. Before he properly began, the guide lifted up a tentacle.
βRaise your equivalent appendage if you believe the humans on the Turek Soorj colony were average people?β Over half of the attending party raised an arm high, with some others sheepishly doing half-hearted raises. The leader shook his head and sighed, βcommon mistake. A fatal mistake. As many mistakes humanity has made over the years, this is not one of them.β He initiated the exhibit. The entire room went dark before, in a mesmerizing display, materialized a comprehensive reconstruction of the colonyβs vessel, the EASS Azov, when it first made launch from the Northern Sinop province i

I figure we might just make this a driving tour, but find out, after consulting the maps, that itβs a one-way out of the mine with Land Cruiser-sized vehicles. However, once we get to the mine, thereβs internal transport, so Iβve got that going for us, which is nice.
I see that this old coal hole has 11 levels.
Gad. I reel just thinking how much coal has been taken out of here.
The bottom levels, as you all better well know, might be flooded. Even though one would think that the deeper drifts are the most modern; that, as Spock would note, is two-dimensional thinking. Itβs all for the greenbacks. If itβs easier to go east-west, then we make the mine plan according to larger, i.e., cover more lateral real estate. If we must go north-south (in a minerβs parlance) then dig we must and dig down, down, down into that cold, cold ground.
So the deepest levels are not necessarily the oldest. I have to refer to the legend of the map to figure out the chronology of this hole.
Or, I can look at the type of mining done. Surface? Earliest. Vertical shaft? A bit later. Deep room-and-pillar, the most recent.
Itβs all very geologicalβ¦
We bail out of the Land Cruiser near the headframe of the mine. Weβre going in, and right to the bottom of level 11, which I sincerely hope is not flooded. At least, it wasnβt the last time anyone was down there.
I tell our driver to wait here; that Jerry Lee, Bob, and myself will handle the initial reconnaissance.
βWell, rockβ, the driver says, scuffing his shoe and kicking a small piece of crinoidal limestone off into the pucklebrush, βIf such that it was. Iβm assigned to you as a sort of guide, and to keep an eye on you as well. There. Iβve said it. Going to shoot me now or later?β
βShoot you? β, I gasp, βThink of the paperwork. The more the merrier, just donβt get in the way andβ¦β
βRock, Iβve been doing this for 30 years.β He groans.
βWell, then I guess I wonβt have to chew your ass about proper PPEs, will I ?β I smile the smile of a smirking Smilodon and toss him a spare Scott airpack.

Solid Power is an industry-leading developer of all-solid-state rechargeable battery cells for electric vehicles and mobile power markets. Solid Power replaces the flammable liquid electrolyte in a conventional lithium-ion battery with a proprietary sulfide-based solid electrolyte. As a result, Solid Power's all-solid-state battery cells are expected to be safer and more stable across a broad temperature range, provide an increase in energy density compared to the best available rechargeable battery cells, enable less expensive, more energy-dense battery pack designs and be compatible with traditional lithium-ion manufacturing processes. Hydrogen:
For Protium: I pour some dilute HCl inside a small bottle and add some Aluminium foil. There was some bubbles at the beginning though, and so I just closed it immediately. And then I returned back and some of the HCl leaks out. Honestly I'm very frightened that time when I accidentally spilled some on my hands. So I just take another bottle which is much, much bigger and put the small bottle in to prevent any leaks or Hydrogen gas escaping away.
Deuterium: Heavy water
Tritium: Glowing Tritium compass
Helium: A small Helium balloon
Lithium: A Li-ion coin battery. At first I tried to open it but the steel casing didn't received any much damage. That was a nightmare on just trying to open the battery. Then I add a bunch of Gallium to destroy the steel, but it just softens a bit but still very hard to open. So I gave up and store the full battery inside a dry container that I made myself with labels.
Beryllium: Be-Cu alloy (as a spring)
Boron: Borax. But it was still shipping
Carbon:
Graphene (I made myself so it probably has a few layers of atoms stuck to it already)
A synthetic diamond (very small)
Graphite wire
Graphite rod (from a battery)
Nitrogen: Ampoule
Oxygen: From the electrolysis of water (Hydrogen didn't work well so I just switched to Oxygen)
Fluorine: Sodium fluoride
Neon: Ampoule (but it's missing right now)
Sodium: Small Sodium-vapor ampoule but it's also missing right now... And also NaCl crystals
Magnesium: Crystal
Aluminium: Foil
Silicon: Tiny little microchip, a small piece of broken glass, a full circuit board, silica gel from seaweed packages, and a little ball which is rich in Silicon used for fish (I forgot what's that called)
Phosphorus: As the Red allotrope on the side of matchboxes (but still, some cardboard stuck to it)
Sulfur: The yellowish powder used in firecrackers (maybe that's not a firecracker)
Chlorine: Huge bottle from which I just poured in some HCl and MnO2. Not the reaction that I want but I think there's still a very, very slight greenish-yellow tint to it
Argon: Small balloon
Potassium: From electrolysis (it's deposited on the wire)
Calcium: Heavily oxidized but pure metal inside a bottle, some CaCO3 chunks, chalk, Calcium acetate, and "quick lime" (CaO)
Scandium: Uncollected sample
Titanium: Extremely expensive chain made out of Titanium (probably my most valuable thing) given by my dad, and some Titanium dioxide wall painting
Vanadium: A pair of scissors
Chromium: A very long,
