A list of puns related to "Lap Steel Guitar"
Iβve been searching for a particular sort of sound for awhile, the song that comes to mind when I hear it in my head is Positively Fourth Street, but I suppose itβs quite similar to Georgeβs tone on the Beatles records up to and including Help.
Well anyhow I decided to take up Lap Steel earlier this year and purchased an Epiphone Electar Model M Lap Steel guitar which came with a matching amp. Iβm still working on becoming a passable steel player but that amp has become my primary, it has something Iβve never heard on modern (this includes 60s, 70s and onward) amps and itβs just great.
Something that fits the vibe of Pinegroveβs slower stuff like these two songs

As the title says. Iβve been playing guitar my whole life. Mostly play finger style acoustic and chicken pickin tele stuff and know basic music theory. I want to buy a good lesson series that will teach me the logic behind lap steel and some cool riffs and what not but donβt want anything that will be too simplistic that Iβll want to skip over someone explaining what notes comprise a chord over and over.
Iβm mostly interested in starting out focusing on Western swing but also would eventually like to start learning some steel jazz like buddy emmoms and speedy west.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Can somebody help me to find some Psychedelic bands who use Lap Steel Guitar like Pink Floyd?
Where do you find this kind of guitar in jordan? Just curious to know and how much would it cost.
Iβm very interested and for some reason I canβt quite figure it out online.
All I could gather is that he doesnβt use pedals and that he uses fender twins.
I could be wrong.

I found this babe on the concrete, leaned against some rickity tables at work. It was love at first sight even though she was covered in a thick dust and dirt.
π.
She is a 1951 National "New Yorker" Steel Lap guitar.
My boss didn't know she was worth so much, and thought the condition was extremely poor, so sold her to me for... $5!!!!!! I think she cleaned up great! β€οΈ And she sounds beautiful. She is missing one peice, but it's no big deal!
In the words of the late, great Tom Petty "I call her Honeybee!".

I'm going to remove her ancient strings here probably pretty soon, or wait for one to break.
P.S. There was a beautiful sunset to welcome her to her new home. β€οΈ
I had an idea, and I need some assistance. What if you took a cheap lap steel guitar, and every place there was a fret line you installed a very tall fret? Then instead of playing it with a steel, you play it like a tapping instrument. You could put some felt or other dampening material at the top to stop open string ringing. The very tall frets would give you a ton of room for bending, and possibly offer a lot of expression.... or it wouldn't work at all and it'd be a big waste of time! I dunno!
Has anyone attempted something like this, and if so... what could be a viable thing to use for these tall frets? Anything that springs to mind that I could pick up from the hardware store? I thought about angle joints which might work for the more spaced frets, but would be pretty unruly as you got higher up the scale, would require a lot of trimming and would probably be more hassle than its worth...
Just an idea, would love to hear all the reasons it wouldn't work before I waste my time!
Thanks!
Hey guys so I just ordered a lap steel guitar which I'm very excited about making some Hawaiian sounds on, just wondering if there are any lap steel players who know what pedals sound cool with it. I've seen one with an Infinite Jets which was nice, obviously modulation would be cool, any other weird suggestions?
Like many who have attempted to learn lap steel guitar, I started off with the Rogue lap steel guitar that cost me somewhere in the neighborhood of $80. It was fine for my purposes but I think I'm ready for the next step up. My biggest with the rogue is its tuning stability imo- or rather its lack thereof - due to really cheap tuning gear/knobs. So when looking for my next LSG, I want to prioritize tuning stability and intonation over pretty much everything else. I play mostly country/americana in some form of open E tuning,
Does anyone have any recommendations for LSGs in the $300-500 range that fits my needs? Or will I have to step up in price to get something that would be a significant upgrade from my Rogue?
Thanks in advance!
Can I use the first 6 strings of a pedal steel C6 tuning for may lap steel or do they have to be for a lap steel only?
