My next gun will probably be the Ares L85 and I wanted to ask for some reviews about the gun. So is there anyone here who can say some things about it ?
Is this a bug or some really stupid change?
Are there any drop in HPA engines for an ICS L85? Also about how hard are they to install?
Less than a month into onshape and CAD in general and did this over 2 days. I'm proud of myself.

I might wanna buy g&g l85 and was wondering is this a good rifle?
Hello I was wondering if there's anyway of adding attachments to this gun (fore grip for example)?
Do they sell grips specifically for this gun or would I need a rail & if so does anyone know which/where I could get one? I've looked on line but haven't found anything that looks suitable.

Been sat on this for about 6 years, packed in airsoft ages ago and never actually got chance to use this because I couldn’t get it to go on my WE.
Doesn’t come with grenades, just the launcher, it’ll go straight onto an Ares, but other brands will require modification.
I’m not sure on the details but I wouldn’t be surprised if the magic of 3D printing hasn’t produced a solution since I stopped playing.

1.) WE L85A2 - $250 OBO SOLD
This one is a couple years old. Only problem with it is some of the locking lugs on the nozzle broke off and recently its been chambering bbs wierd, both problem can be fixed with a new nozzle, which is a $33 part on evike. Ive never had problems with the bolt catch or trigger group. Its honestly a very solid gun. Comes with 1 working STANAG, Maple Leaf Decepticon 60⁰ bucking, and RA Tech NPAS
2.) JG M16A3 - $75
Wired to Large Tamiya. Currently unsure whether it works as I only have small tamiyas, but Ill be at evike tomorrow, so Ill check if it works then. Works decent, chronod at 399-401 fps. Externally, in good condition. Comes with one Hi Cap magazine. Will adjust price if it doesnt work.
3.) G&G CM16 R-8L with funny funny Asimov paint job - $100
Wired to small tamiya, works decent enough. Chronod at 358-361 fps with .2g bbs. Paint job isnt perfect upon close inspection, but its not bad. Perfect for you CSGO fans or whatnot. Comes with stock Hi Cap magazine and vertical grip

What’s the best L85 AEG to buy? I’m also willing to do a lot of upgrades too it as I’ve heard most of them aren’t the best. Most people talking about this are from years ago. Any help is appreciated. I haven’t been into airsoft for almost 10 years and a lot as changed since last time.
Every time I play hardcore and use an L85A2 with the True Grit skin and a loading grip, I seem to only spawn in with one magazine. I haven't tested other attachments and skins on it, but I find it weird that I spawn in with one magazine. Going to a box and resupplying also respawns me with one magazine only. Picking up magazines from the resupply box also does not work. By that I mean spamming F to pick up extra mags without going through the resupply animation by holding down F. I can however pick up extra magazines off weapons on the ground and from the ammo cans laying around objectives. Has anyone else run into this bug with the L85 or any other weapon in hardcore? Sorry if someone else has pointed this out before.
AR33 has faster fire rate and has pretty much 0 recoil. Not to mention angled grip.
Only benefit I see with the L85 is the 2.0x scope and tad bit more damage.
Edit: I have been convinced by the majority to use the L85. Time for my black ice to shine lol
Hello everyone! I need some advice or guidance on wiring a mosfet up into my old af ARMY L85, ive perfected the airseal, shimmed the gears, slapped a new HT motor into it and got a nice lipo turning the whole thing pretty quickly. Took it out for a skirmish and all was well until I rattled off a burst in full auto and it trashed my spur gear, PME for sure. but with the 3rd wire off the trigger unit has me confused on how to wire a mosfet into it to protect the trigger contacts and still retain the active breaking that was built into the gun in the first place. any help would be appreciated TIA.

Earlier this year I purchased a new G&G L85 electric blowback and Electronic Trigger unit, A G&G active breaking system. I had it for a few months and couldn't have fired more than 3500 rounds out of it before it ripped the piston teeth off. With no real apparent cause, I suspected the hop up was the problem so when i ordered the replacement piston I also ordered reinforced gears just to be safe. I managed to get the entire gearbox shimmed greased and reassembled the trigger mechanism as well as the split cylinder. After solving a compression issue I installed a Retro Arms hopup, a Lonex piston head and a new barrel. The gun worked fine and fired great for the two days maybe 400 - 500 rounds later the gearbox tore into the piston again. There was a bb jammed in the hop up and I'm wondering if there's a deeper issue with the gun or if I did something wrong. As a disclaimer this is the first gun I've ever taken apart but I've meticulously followed guides and know the at least the lower end of the gun was assembled correctly.
There are two things I'm wondering A. the bucking I used was one I bought last year to put in my KWA m4 but the hop up didn't want to hear it and was too tight so I gave up on it. Could the stress of being somewhat stretched be enough for the hop up to gum up on the BB and crash the gun? I did lubricate the bucking sleeve on the barrel or is that supposed to be dry? I noticed the bucking was a bit out of the place when I took it apart when I was sure every thing was seated the barrel clip in the hopup wasn't dislodged.
My second theory is that could the ETU/Mosfet be the issue? could the electronics be failing to return the gears to the proper position? Now I don't know enough about that to start guessing but it was just strange the same thing happened twice.
I know this was long but I'm about ready to toss the gun in the dumpster, I have a lot of money into it and trying to fix it. I would like input from some people with more experience and if it really was just the bucking screwed up and jammed the gun. I just don't want to spend another 45$ on another piston that will take two months to ship only for it blow up again. If I'm going to do that I'd like to be more sure what keep causing this.

My G&G L85 ETU's electronics have recently clapped out and while looking for a replacement, I stumbled upon a Perun ETU upgrade kit. I don't quite understand how this will fit into the L85 as the ETU is mounted in the gearbox.
My questions then: What are good replacements for the ETU? Can I use the Perun ETU instead of the stock G&G one?
