Has anyone switched their Hoya Carnosa Compacta to Semi Hydro in Leca? What were your results?
Hello all,
I've seen recently the trend of people converting their plants to Semi Hydro. While I feel a lot of it might just be a fad. I have been thinking about it for my hindu rope hoya. This is mostly because it'd be significantly easier to control the water that's introduced to it, and it'd be very easy to check the roots for rotting as my Hoya is insanely finicky with the amount of water it receives. I've also been considering using orchid foliar spray in tandem with semi hydro.
Right now I'm in the research phase of things and was thinking of starting with experience just using a cutting. Has anyone else converted? If so what's your experiences and watering routines?

I’ve had this Hoya carnosa 3/4 years now. When I first had it its leaves were pink, white and green and now all of the new growth on the mother plant and a divided prop are dark and not variegated, and the pink has disappeared altogether.
