During 2005-2009, Howard Dean as DNC chair tried to attempt a”fifty state strategy” and invest Democratic Party resources in too all 50 states solid red states like Idaho.
Obama also tried it out in 2008. It turned states like Indiana and Virginia blue. It also made states like Montana and Missouri go into super close margins.
Would this strategy work in 2022 and 2024?
Edit:I just want to say that Dean didn’t use this strategy personally in a campaign but used it as DNC chair nationally.
Howard Dean was a strong frontrunner in 2004 until the infamous "Dean Scream" after the Iowa Caucus. What if the "Dean Scream" didn't happen and Dean was able to win the Democratic nomination? Who would his VP have been? If he won what would a Dean presidency have looked like?
Okay! I noticed this the first time I watched this, and this is at least the 10th time I've rewatched TWW. In the episode 2162 votes, when Santos is giving his speech to the Dem Convention, he is saying, "and when you have done that, you can go back to Seattle, and Boston, to Miami, Omaha, to Tulsa, to Chicago--" and every time I am expecting him to go BYAHHHH!!!!!! but he doesn't! He says "with your head held high, and say 'I am a member of the Democratic Party!"
Because what do we know about Billie Dean? She‘s probably the blandest Sarah Paulson character who needs more backstory and screentime. When all is said and done with AHS I would like each episode to revisit each season either in form of Billie Dean traveling to each place or Satan himself reflecting on each of the hellmouthes (I made up another plot for this kind of theme).
Episode 1: Billie Dean Howard pitches Mick Pearce the idea for a new TV show and becomes the Jonathan Frakes of a new generation. The first location where they are filming in is the Murder House. Due to the events of Apocalypse Tate and Violet still don‘t talk to each other as time has been reversed. Ben continues to be saddened by the news of Michael dying outside of the property whereas Vivien now allows him to see their son Jeffrey thanks to the help of Billie. Planned as a special guest for the first episode of the new show is Constance Langdon. However during filming she‘s tricked by Moira who does nothing less than interrupting the film set because she still holds a grudge against Constance. But she‘s harmless compared to the other residing ghosts. Especially Hayden hasn‘t found peace yet, still mad seeing Ben and Vivien with their newborn she does nothing but killing them everytime she sees them so she can spend more alonetime with Jeffrey. The Harmons are annoyed and enlist the help of Billie Dean who invites her longtime friend Bubbles McGee over who is known for her reading powers. Like in Apocalypse the plan is to dig out the remains of the target and bring them to a cemetery. Hayden agrees with that and her bones end up in Boston while as Moira is being asked too she refuses because her intuition tells her to stay in the Murder House with her new family, The Harmons because she has felt like given her farewell to her mother in a past time unknowingly before time reverse. Bubbles is also aware of Tate and Violet and wants to bring them back together.
